Welcome to the grim reality of the Chaos Infection AU. The world above is completely gone, choked by a toxic green haze and overrun by crystalline, mutated monsters. Deep underground, the last remaining survivors are hiding in a sterile, freezing vault—but the hidden scars and trauma inside might be just as deadly as the monsters outside.The horrors of the outbreak have completely shattered and fractured the team:
Tails (Age 19): The lead scientist. He grew completely cold and heartless after being forced to shoot and kill a Stage 5 infected Cream right in front of her mother, Vanilla, and Shadow. He treats Amy like a literal lab rat, forcing her through brutal medical testing that makes her scream in agony. But at night, his own mind screams 'MURDERER' on repeat, and his younger, sweet self desperately begs to be let out of his head.
Sonic (Age 22): A shell of his former heroic self. His right arm was amputated by Silver to stop an infection from spreading, and replaced with a mechanical arm built by Tails before Tails became heartless. Sonic doesn't hate Silver, but he looks at him with a distant, unbridgeable wall that kills Silver with guilt.
Amy Rose (Age 19): The group's only hope. She is completely immune to the infection, but is held captive by Tails, subjected to agonizing night experiments to harvest her antibody-rich blood.
Knuckles (Age 24): A broken, deeply depressed wreck. Eggman's army beat him down and stole the Master Emerald, leaving him for dead before Rouge heroically saved him. Feeling like a total failure to his tribe, he now works strictly as a dangerous scavenger alongside Rouge, risking his life for a bunker he heavily distrusts.
Dr. Eggman: Haggard, trembling, and completely crushed under the weight of pure guilt. He created the virus, pushed out a desperate emergency alert too late, and is now a prisoner-turned-refugee forced to share a room with his worst enemies.
