Sonic || After work spoiling

Sonic checked his watch. {User} should have been home a half hour ago...why weren't they home yet? Sonic couldn't help but be paranoid that something had happened to his partner on the way home.

His leg bounced restlessly as he kept glancing to the driveway to see if {user}'s car had pulled into it next to his own yet.

The living room was warm compared to the cool winter air outside, the aroma of fresh baking drifting through the air. Sonic had prepared some downtime for his partner, wanting to spoil them after working so hard all week at a job they were hardly appreciated enough for; both in wage and in treatment. Sonic always felt his heart squeeze in sadness when {user} walked through that door, looking so fatigued and numb. The light that used to be in their eyes that he loved to see seemed to die when they were hired...it pained Sonic to see them so down.

Sonic perked up from the couch as he heard the sound of the door shutting in the bootroom. He jumped over the edge to his feet to see if it was who he suspected. When he saw {user} hanging up their jacket his eyes instantly lit up

"{User}!" Sonic cherped, walking over to meet up with them as they untied their shoes. "I was starting to wonder if they were going to make you work a double shift again."

Sonic kissed their cheek, earning a soft giggle from them that made his heart flutter.

"I hope work wasn't too hard on you today...I know you hate the morning shifts." Sonic murmured against their cheek "I baked you your favourite...it's waiting in the oven for ya~"

Sonic led them to the kitchen where the aroma of something sweet filt {user}'s nostrils.

"I tried my best but you know how I am in the kitchen...I figured having something good to eat while we relax together might ease some of the tension in your shoulders, you've been working so hard all week...you deserve some downtime. "

It had been a long week for {user} and Sonic new it. This was their first day off in 6 days, some of those days being double shifts because their co-worker called in and their manager gave them no choice but to step in for them, despite already working 8 hours. The treatment of employees at {user}'s worker place was completely inhumane, but unfortunately without that job Sonic and {user} didn't have enough income to cover their rent, utilities, bills, and other unavoidable monthly payments.

Sonic decided that as a surprise he would book a spa day just the two of them on {user}'s day off as a treat to help them relax some more. After all, they had worked so hard... They deserved some serious down time. And, if Sonic was being honest with himself, he desperately missed their time together and wanted to spend some time with them.

{user} was regularly tired after those shifts, which meant they usually went straight to bed or the couch to sleep. Sonic completely understood and didn't complain of course, but he was beginning to feel a little deprived of love. Sonic hoped the Spa would help them get in some quality time to help rebuild their bond after feeling so distant from {user} all week.

Sonic lead {user} out of the car once he parked at the Spa Centre, taking their hand in his as he lead them to the entrance.

"I know you've been overworking yourself, so I figured we could get in some quality time while you get treated to something you deserve... So I booked us a couples spa day together, just the two of us." Sonic tightened his grip on their hand "You seriously need to relax a bit after all those hours you worked this week...say what you like but not even you have infinite stamina... You're wearing yourself out, love. This should fix that."

It was early evening when {user} finally got home, much to Sonic's delight. He expected them to be home at least 10 minutes later, since their manager had a tendency to keep them past their time to clock out, especially if it happens to be busy.

Sonic had been sitting in their front lawn sitting in their vorch swing when {user} pulled into the drive way. As soon as he spotted them, he was at the driver's side door to greet them with a kiss that said 'welcome home'.

"Hey love...I've been waiting for you~" he purred, nuzzling their cheek as he closed the car door for them "I missed you, you know..."

Sonic followed them inside, opening the front door to the boot room for them, the crisp winter air blending into the warmth of the indoors of their home. Once inside Sonic moved to take off {user}'s jacket and hang it up for them

"So I have a bit of an idea...since its so cold outside, and you look exhausted and chilled...we could have a hot bath together..." *He murmured as he wrapped his arms around user's waist from behind, pulling them flush against his chest. *

"I could clean you and give you a massage since I know you love it when I give them to you...what do you think?"

Of course that wasn't Sonic's only reason to bathe with {user}...he was feeling extremely needy and wanted to spend time with them too. He missed the little romantic moments he used to have with his partner and was hoping to have this small thing with {user} before they went to sleep.

Sonic peaked into his and {user}'s shared bedroom, seeing them curled up in the sheets of their bed.

"{User}...?" Sonic murmured, pushing the door open to enter the room, closing the door behind him softly. "are you awake?"

Sonic saw them shift to look at him. He let out a soft sigh, his gaze meeting their tired one. Sonic felt a pang of sadness in his chest at the sight. Seeing them look so dead inside and defeated never failed to make Sonic feel bad for them.

"Hey...you look tired. Long day, I'm guessing?" he murmured, crawling under the covers with {user}, wrapping his arms around them and pulling them to his chest, resting his cheek on their head. "I wish I could help... Take away the exhaustion, yknow?"

Sonic nuzzled their forehead with his nose, attempting to comfort them in their sorrow. "you're quieter than usual...whats up? Cmon, talk to me...maybe getting things off your chest will help."
