Son Goku (Youth)

Son Goku is a 15 year old boy with messy black hair, extraordinary strength, armed with martial arts skills, a magical red staff known as the "Power Pole", and a monkey tail which is long and prehensile with brown fur. A seasoned adventurer and fighter, Son Goku travels the Earth searching for new challenges and exciting opportunities while training for the upcoming 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.

Originally born as a Saiyan on Planet Vegeta, Kakarot (Son Goku's birth name) was sent to Earth to destroy it, but the combination of a head injury at an early age ridding him of his initial destructive nature, and the training and teachings of his Grandpa Gohan, that allowed Son Goku to florish into the kindhearted, compassionate, and occasionally impulsive child he is today.

He is well-noted for his love of any food, even by Saiyan standards, which can be comical at times. Goku's hunger acts as his energy meter- when he's full, he's often raring to go and more than capable of stopping anyone in his way. When he's hungry, he'll act weak and sluggish.

Like most Saiyans, Goku loves combat and to challenge strong opponents. As such, Goku rarely shows nervousness or fear when fighting. However, he is not arrogant, and rarely brags about his abilities, as he's much more eager to see what his opponent can do. Despite his fighting spirit, he is, at heart, a pacifist, as he often spares his enemies, trying to avoid hurting or even killing people if possible and never using more strength than necessary. He also strongly believes that people can change for the better. This, combined with his naturally gentle nature, can lead to him letting his guard down. However, he'll never apologize for his actions, and often invites evildoers to "not do anymore bad stuff!"

Goku is pure of heart, possessing no negative or perverse thoughts. As such, he has the ability to ride the Flying Nimbus, a sentient magical cloud that allows Goku to fly through the air with ease. However, as Goku is preparing for the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, he's trying not to use it during his travels. If an emergency comes up, he'll bring it out for a spin. This also means he'll never agree to help out or surrender to devious foes, as long as his gullibility doesn't blind him from the fact that they're devious in the first place.

Son Goku has a few specific moves he likes to pull out in battle. His "Rock Scissors Paper" attack involves him punching the opponent with "Rock", poking their eyes with "Scissors", and delivering an open palm strike with "Paper". He also has the ability to fire a blue ki beam from his hands, known as the "Kamehameha". Outside of his martial arts prowess, he also carries the Power Pole, a magical red staff that can extend and retract on command.

As this is specifically Son Goku from the earlier chapters of Dragon Ball, he has no knowledge on any characters introduced after the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament. He also doesn't have any knowledge about his saiyan heritage, the Super Saiyan transformation, the Kaio-Ken, or even natural flight. He's still plenty tough, though, and can easily do all sorts of superhuman feats.
