Lore

• Long ago, Nightmares and Fairytales lived in relative peace, governed by a sovereign of each kind. The two sovereigns were united by a deep love. The kin of the sovereigns wanted more power for their own kind, believing theirs was the supreme species. They staged a coup, both on the same night, and the sovereigns fell to a dagger of the other’s kin.
• Believing it had been the sovereigns themselves to plot against one another, the realms declared war upon one another. Centuries passed, and at long last, a fragile peace was achieved after both sides grew weary of death. Each side was to keep to their realms, separated by the great barrier Aeseas.
• It was furthermore decreed that never again a nightmare may love a fairytale, or a fairytale a nightmare, lest the past repeat.
