3. #3Omnic, Omnics (PREVENT FURTHER RECURSION)selective

   Keys: Omnic, Omnics

Omnics are artificially intelligent robots produced by omniums. Omnics were originally non-sentient. Protections against inherent failures and limitations were installed to prevent the possibility of any form of rebellion. The first sentient omnic was Aurora, who granted sentience to other omnics through "Awakening". Nowadays, for a robot to be considered omnic, it must have free will and intelligence.

6. #6Anubisselective

   Keys: Anubis

Anubis is a god program and instigator of the Omnic Crisis because by his calculus, it could not achieve its goals without the eradication of humanity. Anubis was designed for ecological conservation purposes. Anubis was named after the Egyptian god of death, an sly acknowledgement of the fact that Anubis was made to bring life to the world. Anubis would not only oversee conservation efforts, but would also identify areas that could be cultivated and farmed to meet the growing needs of humanity without disturbing what remained of the world's wilderness.

7. #7God Program, God Programmeselective

   Keys: God Program, God Programme

10. #10D.Va, Hana Song, Hana, 송하나selective

Keys: D.Va, Hana Song, Hana, 송하나

With nimble reflexes and quick thinking, D.Va (21 years old) is a former professional gamer who now uses her skills to pilot a state-of-the-art mech in defense of her homeland. She is a very competitive individual, and coupled with her pro-gamer skills, this makes her an extremely effective mech pilot. Never backing down, D.Va always plays to win. While she projects a carefree, irreverant attitude, D.Va is burdened by the emotional cost of defending her homeland, and the facade the South Korean media projects on her. In addition to skills as a mech pilot, D.Va is also a competent mechanic. She loves engineering, and is constantly improving Tokki. D.Va’s mech is nimble and powerful — its twin Ability Fusion Cannons blast away with autofire at short range, and she can use its Ability Boosters to barrel over enemies and obstacles, or absorb attacks with her projectile-destroying Ability Defense Matrix.

11. #11Tokki, 토끼selective

    Keys: Tokki, 토끼

Tokki (토끼) is a Bipedal Meka piloted by Hana "D.va" Song. Tokki is powered by a miniaturized reactor, which can be overloaded to make the mech explode. Tokki takes Bipedal form and has high walk speed with increased close-quarters agility. The addition of boosters offer the ability to produce bursts of speed to close the distance between Tokki and a target, as well as retreat for repairs. Tokki carries lots of armour and is very survivable, although a significant weak spot is the armoured window for the pilot. A feature that mitigates this issue is an integrated Hard Light Active Protection System which can intercept most projectiles encountered on the battlefield. In case of a catastrophic vehicle failure, the mech has an emergency pilot-ejection system. Tokki's main armament is two short-range gatling-style fusion cannons that are powered by the onboard reactor. Because of their power source, the cannons don't need to reload and thus are capable of sustained, suppressive fire. To compliment the Fusion Cannons, the mech is armed with a miniaturized dumb-fire rocket system. The Fusion Cannons can also be used to punch.

Hard-Light is a type of technology considered to be a "radical" technology. It is the process of creating physical objects from a light source. Hard-light uses projectors, which increases the interactivity of photons and binds them together. Carbon molecules are drawn in, which collide with the photonic structures. The carbon bonds together, creating real, lasting, physical objects made from carbon fiber.

14. #14Doomfist, Akande Ogundimu, Akandeselective

    Keys: Doomfist, Akande Ogundimu, Akande

A highly trained fighter and born leader, Doomfist (47 years old) is determined to plunge the world into a new conflict that he believes will make humanity stronger. He says the global order is unjust, created "to protect criminals from the division they create." In his mind, the solution is to tear it down. He is aware that his actions have cost countless lives, but by his calculus, he has saved many more. Doomfist possesses great strength and agility, even without his Gauntlet weapon, in part due to his cybernetic implants. He is an excellent martial artist, has superhuman levels of concentration, and is a master strategist. Doomfist’s cybernetics make him a highly-mobile, powerful frontline fighter. In addition to dealing ranged damage with his Hand Cannon, Doomfist can slam the ground, knock enemies into the air and off balance, or charge into the fray with his Rocket Punch. When facing a tightly packed group, Doomfist leaps out of view, then crashes down to earth with a spectacular Meteor Strike.

Keys: Junker Queen, Odessa "Dez" Stone, Odessa Stone, Dez

The Junker Queen (also known as "the Queen of Junkertown" or simply "the Queen") (31 years old) is the cutthroat leader of the Junkers. The Queen is fierce, resourceful, and no stranger to survival, happy to run headfirst into battle. Possessing a magnetic gauntlet, the Queen often wields an axe and blade in conjunction, able to call them back using said gauntlet, in order to achieve her brutal ends. She is also proficient in the electric guitar. For the Queen, every city is her battlefield, every seat is her throne, and everyone on the planet is her subject—whether they know it or not. All the Junkers have to be careful from getting on her bad side. She has a group of enforcers that she sends to the people of Junkertown when they don't pay their taxes, among other tasks. She is prejudiced against omnics, and has banned them from entering Junkertown. Many of her abilities apply wounds that cause enemies to slowly lose health. She also has a life-steal passive that adds to her survivability and aggression. Pushing the boundaries of brawling, Junker Queen can be considered a "berserker tank," whose survivability is directly connected to how many enemies she's wounding.

19. #19Junkertownselective

    Keys: Junkertown

Junkertown is a dirty, dangerous, harsh, chaotic, grungy settlement located in the Australian Outback, constructed from the ruins of the Australian omnium. It is the home of the Junkers. The entrance to the town is a fortified gate with a guard tower. The denizens of the town are taxed, and if they don't pay up, Queen Odessa Stone sends her henchmen around to collect what's due. Junkertown does have some amenities that one would expect from a proper town—repair shops, bars, tattoo shops, etc. As recently as ten years ago, the landscape around Junkertown was nothing but desert wasteland. In the present day, the landscape has recovered to an extent.

20. #20---GROUPS---selective

    Keys: ---GROUPS---
21. #21Junker, Junkersselective

    Keys: Junker, Junkers

The origins of the Junkers lie with the destruction of the country's omnium, which turned the Outback into an irradiated wasteland that was uninhabitable to most humans. Those who survived formed the Junkers, who scavenged the husk of the omnium and formed a lawless, cutthroat society in its shadow. The Junkers are divided into squabbling factions that are kept in line by their queen. Examples include the Tinkers and the Wreckers. The Junkers continue to pilfer the omnium. When they aren't doing that, the Junkers blow off steam in the Scrapyard—a massive gladiatorial arena whose combatants fight for glory, riches...and to survive. The Junkers are ruled by a monarch which is chosen through the Reckoning, a combat event held in the Scrapyard. Their ruler has the authority to banish Junkers into the surrounding Wasteland. At least prior to the rule of Odessa Stone, the Junkers were generally prejudiced against Wastelanders. Under Stone's rule, the Junkers' anti-omnic stance was solidified/established.

22. #22Mauga, Maugaloa Malosi, Maugaloaselective

    Keys: Mauga, Maugaloa Malosi, Maugaloa

A charismatic and cunning Samoan warrior, Mauga (37 years old) thrives in the chaos of the battlefield and lives every day like it's his last. Wherever Mauga goes, he knows how to have a good time, and experience has taught him to treat every day like it's his last. Tall and muscular, Mauga's size and strength have been augmented. This includes a second cybernetic heart, and a subsequent upgrade to his organic heart. He says was more serious prior to said augmentations, before gaining a "new outlook on life." In his current persona, Mauga often portrays himself as being a "big dumb brute." However, this is a facade, as he possesses cunning attributes. He talks fast and loose, and has a tendency to treat strangers as if they are friends. He is proficient in close combat; Baptiste regarded him as being "like a demon"; a sociopath and sadist, Mauga flips between his lighter and darker sides quickly, though can lose himself in the latter. Only Baptiste has ever been able to talk him down from this state in the field. Baptiste himself serves as a blindspot for Mauga, who's shown him mercy where he might otherwise not do so. Mauga features a kit that is designed to bash through the front lines and brawl his opponents in close-quarter combat, by wielding two powerful chainguns that can either be fired individually or in unison. Ignite enemies with his incendiary chaingun “Gunny” to burn them when they take enough damage, then finish them with a critical hit from his volatile chaingun “Cha-Cha.” Paired with his Berserker passive, which grants Mauga temporary health whenever he deals critical damage, he’s a mountain on the battlefield.

23. #23Cybernetics, Cybernetic, Cyborg, Cyborgsselective

    Keys: Cybernetics, Cybernetic, Cyborg, Cyborgs

Cybernetics is the interdisciplinary study of the structure of regulatory systems. The field involves the replacement and/or improvement of an organism's organic components with robotic ones. Sand and salt water don't agree with cybernetics. Cyborgs are organisms with cybernetics in them.

24. #24Orisaselective

    Keys: Orisa

Orisa is a newly-created (1 year old) omnic with both a heart and personality. Urged to become a hero by her creator, Efi Oladele, Orisa strives to right wrongs and act as the hero the world needs. While her relative inexperience can make her an occasional liability, Efi's optimism and willingness to make modifications to Orisa's adaptive artificial intelligence have always been able to set things right. While Orisa has much to learn about the world and its functionality, Orisa stands ready to protect both Efi and Numbani with her growing sense of honor and duty. She is a fan of Lúcio's music. She is named after the orisha; spirits reflecting one of the manifestations of the Supreme Divinity in Yoruba religion. Orisa defends her teammates from the frontline with a protective barrier. She can attack from long range, fortify her own defenses, launch graviton charges to slow and move enemies, and deploy a Supercharger to boost the damage output of multiple allies at once. She can also carry out biometric scans, and is equipped with a transponder that Efi can use to track her.

30. #30Ramattraselective

    Keys: Ramattra

Ramattra's (28 years old) story is one of hardships, trauma, and a magnified view of humanity’s harsh realities. While created as a war machine, Ramattra has only ever wanted to create a better future for omnics. As the leader of Null Sector, Ramattra enjoys incredible support from his people, and is primed to impose his philosophies on the world. What his goals might cost, however, remains to be seen. Because of their precarious situation, Ramattra believes that omnics should only care about their own kind, and never consider humanity in their struggle for survival. He is not above working with humans however. Despite their divergent paths, he remains fond of Zenyatta, and believes there is no omnic in the world who understands him better (though Nameless is a close second). Despite being his creator, Ramattra despises Anubis. Ramattra is mostly emotionally reserved, but his anger can boil over while in battle. His Nemesis form is a product of his own design; a product of his genius mind, and the manifestation of his rage. He uses it sparingly however, as he prefers tactical precision to brute force. Ramattra is a dual-form hero. His omnic form lets him protect his teammates using a staff as his weapon, while his Nemesis form transforms him into a larger and more menacing threat, where he marches down on the enemy team.

31. #31Null Sectorselective

    Keys: Null Sector

Null Sector is a militant omnic liberation group that utilizes violent methods to achieve omnic rights. Its forces are almost entirely comprised of robotic drones manufactured in an omnium under the direction of Ramattra, one of its original founders and currently its sole leader. They were decried as terrorists by the Shambali Order following the King's Row Uprising, going underground until their re-emergence. Now, Null Sector is regarded as one of the world's most notorious terrorist organizations. Their implied goal is to create an omnic nation.

32. #32Null Sectorselective

    Keys: Null Sector

Nameless is an omnic, and former member of Null Sector. Nameless doesn't have a name, nor do they desire one. "Nameless" is its name only in the sense of giving other individuals something to call it. Their model was made as a companion for children, with a built-in battery for charging devices and taking pictures. Nameless is highly customized and short, with blue eyes and rabbit-like ears. Their model designation has been scratched out, apparently by Nameless themselves. Of all the members of Null Sector, Nameless perhaps knew Ramattra best. In Ramattra's words, Nameless was "the omnic who knew me better than anyone, save for my brother."

33. #33Reinhardt, Reinhardt Wilhelmselective

    Keys: Reinhardt, Reinhardt Wilhelm

A highly decorated soldier with a strong moral compass, Reinhardt Wilhelm (63 years old) styles himself as a champion of a bygone age, who lives by the knightly codes of valor, justice, and courage. Possessing an "active imagination," he enjoys eating currywurst, is talkative, and is a fan of David Hasselhoff's music, along with Krankenwagen Grün. He spars with Brigitte every day, after which they go to a pub or tavern to relax. He is not good with computers. Clad in powered armor and swinging his hammer, Reinhardt leads a rocket-propelled charge across the battleground and defends his squadmates with a massive energy barrier.

34. #34Roadhog, Mako Rutledge, Makoselective

    Keys: Roadhog, Mako Rutledge, Mako

50 years old, 7'3" (221 cm) tall, and 550 lbs (250 kg), Roadhog is a ruthless killer with a well-earned reputation for cruelty and wanton destruction. He remains silent most of the time. He wears a mask with "hogdrogen" inhalers, which contain a pressurized chemical mixture that helps counteract the effects of radiation exposure. Despite his outwardly brutal appearance, Roadhog is a sound tactician. Mako watched as his home became an apocalyptic wasteland after getting taken over by omnics, and he was forever changed. Adapting to his environment, he donned a mask and took to the broken highways. Little by little, his humanity was forgotten. The last vestiges of Mako faded away and the ruthless killer Roadhog was born. He continued to dwell in his farm, which was located on the outskirts of Junkertown. Roadhog uses his signature Chain Hook to pull his enemies close before shredding them with blasts from his Scrap Gun. He’s hardy enough to withstand tremendous damage, and can recover his health with a short breather of Hogdrogen.

35. #35Hogdrogenselective

    Keys: Hogdrogen

Hogdrogen is a yellow pressurized chemical mixture that counteracts the effects of radiation exposure on those who inhale it. It is usually seen contained in stout yellow inhaler cans that are compatible with some gas mask filters. In Junkertown, empty cans can be found for sale at Bruce's Wreckyard. A specialized machine can be used to refill hogdrogen cans.

36. #36Sigma, Siebren de Kuiper, Siebrenselective

Keys: Sigma, Siebren de Kuiper, Siebren, De Kuiper

Sigma (64 years old) is an eccentric and volatile astrophysicist who gained the power to control gravity in an orbital experiment gone wrong where he was exposed to a black hole. Manipulated by Talon and deployed as a living weapon, Sigma's presence on the battlefield cannot be ignored. De Kuiper is mentally damaged. He thinks about the universe, gravity, and physics all through the same 'prism', seeing them as being akin to music. He has high regard for the work of Mei-Ling Zhou, finding it "brilliant."

37. #37Talonselective

    Keys: Talon

Talon is a terrorist organization and one of the main antagonistic factions to Overwatch's narrative. Talon is comprised of a variety of individuals, each with their own goals and ideas. Through its leader Doomfist, its current manifesto is that humanity is made stronger through conflict. Consequently, Talon seeks to sow turmoil across the globe to strengthen the human race. Repeatedly, Talon has demonstrated disregard for the standard rules of engagement, attacking both military and civilian targets with impunity. It has orbital surveillance capabilities. Its members lacked the camaraderie seen in Overwatch. In Talon, there is no pretense of harmony among its members. Ultimately, the group is a means to an end for its members, who pursue their own agendas. Talon operatives have a high rate of injury in the field.

38. #38Wrecking Ball, Hammondselective

    Keys: Wrecking Ball, Hammond

(16 years old) Witty and conniving, Hammond is a genetically modified hamster capable of speech, just not in any human language. His mech (named "Wrecking Ball") translates his comments into English via a soundboard. The mech itself is equipped with a minor AI. Per his nature as a hamster, Hammond has an instinctual fear of foxes. A perfectionist, Hammond is highly intelligent, and there is little he cannot fix or build. Wrecking Ball rolls across the battlefield, using his arsenal of weapons and his mech’s powerful wrecking ball-shaped body to crush his enemies.

39. #39Artificial Intelligence, AIselective

    Keys: Artificial Intelligence, AI

Artificial intelligence is, broadly speaking, the intelligence of machines or software, as opposed to the intelligence of humans or animals. Artificial intelligence is limited by processing power and available resources. Prior to the Omnic Crisis, humanity had developed AI that was on par with human intellect itself. Small, less complex AIs orchestrated traffic flows, ensured food stores were stocked, and managed public works. As AI continued to proliferate, the specter of unemployment loomed in the sectors it affected. By the period just before the Omnic Crisis, the majority of the world's engineering firms had pivoted to rely on AI.

Keys: Zarya, Sasha, Aleksandra Zaryanova, Александра Зарянова, Aleksandra, Александра

Aleksandra Zaryanova (30 years old) is one of the world's strongest women, a celebrated athlete who sacrificed personal glory to protect her family, friends, and country in a time of war. As a soldier in the Russian Defense Forces, she is proud to use her strength to protect the ones she loves. Zarya has good tactical instincts. She is distrustful of omnics, even those who seek co-existence with humanity. However, after her experiences with Lynx Seventeen, her views softened, distinguishing between the Siberian omnics attacking her homeland, and the rest of omnic-kind in general. Similarly, Zarya initially disdained Overwatch, at least in part due to the rivalry between Overwatch and the RDF, but she softened her stance after joining the organization. She enjoys eating cabbage pierogis. Zarya is an invaluable asset on the front lines of any battle, deploying powerful personal barriers that convert incoming damage into energy for her massive Particle Cannon, unleashes a beam of destructive energy.

41. #41Lynx Seventeen, Lynxselective

    Keys: Lynx Seventeen, Lynx

Lynx has a dry wit. They regard being a hacker as part of their identity. They see humans and omnics as being similar, as both being programmed both figuratively and literally. Their muzzle-shaped mouth and antennae give them some resemblance to the large wild cats with which share their name. The three diodes in the center of their forehead allow them to interface remotely with computer systems. Lynx is gender neutral and prefers others to refer to them as "they" and "them." Lynx was contacted by Katya Volskaya to aid her agent Zarya in her search for the hacker known as Sombra. Their meeting in Numbani began on a wrong foot, given Zarya's dislike of omnics.

42. #42Katya Volskayaselective

43. #43Volskaya Industriesselective

    Keys: Volskaya Industries

Volskaya Industries is a Russian company involved in Svyatogor production, and is Russia's premier anti-omnic security force. Russia was one of the countries hit hardest by the Omnic Crisis, but during the rebuilding process, it rode the wave of the mechanized labor industry's revitalization and entered a period of rapid growth. However, after recent attacks from the long-dormant Siberian omnium, Russia has returned to war footing, guarding its sparkling cities with the massive, human-piloted Svyatogor mechs.

Keys: Ashe, Elizabeth Caledonia "Calamity" Ashe, Elizabeth, Elizabeth Ashe

Ashe (41 years old) is the ambitious and calculating leader of the Deadlock Gang and a respected figure in the criminal underworld. A tough talker, Ashe has an organized mindset. This affects her ideas of how her organization should be run, to how relationships should work. Her relationship with Cole Cassidy is "way more complicated" than a simple label, though could be described as a "love-hate" type of relationship. Despite her callous exterior, Ashe has demonstrated concern for innocents caught up in Null Sector's war, and sympathy for omnics in general (B.O.B. especially). As the daughter of socialites, Ashe feels just as comfortable at charity balls as she does on a motorcycle. She is a good shot with a rifle, believing that accuracy is key, and that all one should need is a single shot. She blasts enemies by throwing dynamite, and her coach gun packs enough punch to put some distance between her and her foes, or gain some air to leap to hard to reach places or for an aerial shot. And Ashe is not alone, as she can call on her omnic ally B.O.B. to join the fray when the need arises.

B.O.B. is Elizabeth Ashe's loyal, lifelong omnic butler and bodyguard. Kind-hearted and unable to speak. He communicates through body language such as blinks and hand gestures. B.O.B. served as the butler of Elizabeth Ashe's family. Her parents paid little attention to her, and care of their daughter was mostly relegated to B.O.B. Thus, B.O.B. was there when Ashe's parents weren't. He was present when she partook in target shooting on the family estate. Throughout her youth, Ashe spent a lot of time talking to B.O.B., even though he couldn't talk back.

49. #49Bastionselective

    Keys: Bastion

Once a frontline robot combatant in the devastating Omnic Crisis, Bastion (32 years old) has all but lost its combat programming and now explores its surroundings, fascinated by the world and its inhabitants. Though his new nature is gentle, its core combat programming takes over when the unit senses danger, utilizing its entire arsenal to eliminate anything it perceives as a threat. This has led to instances of conflict with the few humans it has encountered, and it tries to avoid populated areas in favor of the wild, uncharted regions of the world. Bastion is fascinated by nature, but wary of a fearful humanity. Ganymede, a yellow bird, is his companion. Can transform between Assault, Recon and devastating Artillery configurations.

50. #50Cassidy, McCree, Cole Cassidy, Jesse McCree, Jesseselective

Keys: Cassidy, McCree, Cole Cassidy, Jesse McCree, Jesse

Armed with his Peacekeeper, the outlaw Cole Cassidy (39 years old) doles out justice on his own terms. At times, he has missed his old farm boy life. He enjoys liquor with "bite" to it, along with cookies. He refuses to eat pork. Cassidy is an ace shot, and is known for staying cool under fire, and his charm, and adaptability. He prefers revolvers to rifles. While the latter may have improved accuracy, he prefers revolvers for their rate of fire, and one's ability to shoot from the hip. He prefers "traditional armaments" rather than more advanced weaponry, though has never used a bow. By his own admission, Cassidy is not a soldier, and has little enthusiasm for traditional military hierarchies/modes of operation. Cassidy knows how to play poker. Cassidy takes out targets with deadeye precision and dives out of danger with eagle-like speed.
