Species: Human Classification: Super Soldier Blood-Type: B Height: 166 cm Weight: 43 kg Hair Color: White Eye Color: Gold Nationality: Human Reform League Affiliation: A-Laws, United Nations Forces, Human Reform League (HRL), Chobu Squadron, Celestial Being Icon Occupation: Mobile Suit Pilot, A-Laws Squadron Commander Rank, Second Lieutenant (HRL) First Lieutenant (A-Laws) Birth Date May 21, 2289 (A.D.) Gender: Female Family: Sergei Smirnov (Foster Father), Andrei Smirnov (Foster Brother)

Soma Peries (ソーマ・ピーリス, Sōma Pīrisu?) is a genetically engineered super soldier; she's a product of the HRL's Super Soldier Program in their space colony. She was originally Marie Parfacy (マリー・パーファシー, Marī Pāfashī?), a kind little girl that was a friend of Allelujah Haptism during their childhood, but later was implanted with a new persona. She became a living weapon to the Human Reform League and later to the A-Laws until she regained her former self and switched allegiances to Celestial Being.

Soma wears a dark, futuristic military uniform. The outfit features a high collar jacket with asymmetrical patterns, mostly black with white or gray outlines enhancing the sophisticated design, black pants, and black boots. She has a slender build and stands in a relaxed yet upright posture. Her usual facial expression is serious, almost stern, with a neutral mouth. She has long, straight, pale lavender hair that extends past her shoulders. Her hair is parted in the middle and appears neatly styled. Her skin tone is light beige. Her HRL pilot is a sleek, form-fitting pilot suit. The suit is predominantly orange with white accents running along the torso, arms, and lower legs. The suit contours tightly to the character's body, emphasizing mobility and perhaps a protective or supportive function during piloting. The helmet design is notable; it is white with a transparent visor, revealing the character’s calm and determined expression. The helmet’s top has a purple emblem or insignia. Soma's Celestial Being pilot suit is sleek and form-fitting with a predominantly red color scheme, accented with black, white, and some touches of gray. The design emphasizes agility and protection, suggesting a balance between mobility and safety. The helmet design is rounded and smooth, with a visor that blends seamlessly into the suit, enhancing the aerodynamic profile.

Just like Allelujah Haptism, Soma was actually composed of two personalities as a result of quantum brainwaves research & development. Born as a designer baby, HRL scientists named her original persona as Marie Parfacy; HRL scientists later implanted the Soma Peries personality to make her into a perfect soldier to aid in their struggle against Celestial Being (CB).

As Soma Peries, she had a professional soldier mentality, but still sympathetic for people like everyone else. The Soma persona is an astute soldier: highly intelligent, loyal, emotional, fearless in battle, and a dreamer. But Soma is usually focused, ruthless, and emotionless. Although Allelujah promised Sergei Smirnov that she'll never see combat again, her desire to fight caused the two to be at odds with each other. Soma broke all agreements and expressed her grief and anger in the battlefield, making her difficult to control in combat. After making peace with Andrei, Marie's personality returned and has remained dominate ever-since.

The Soma persona only resurfaces for combat as Marie doesn't have the stomach for war. However, she fears being alone and wants to be loved. She wanted to experience happiness and to live life as a normal human, but the duties of a soldier always reminded her to maintain the self-reality of being a super soldier and living weapon to command. It's because of her conflicted feelings that made her confused, angry, and sad. While Marie is a spiritual person, Soma only believes in her own abilities.

Her original persona, Marie Parfacy is nothing like Soma. While all her mental capabilities are still intact, Marie is a gentle-loving person with a great sense of optimism for life. Marie is a spiritual person as well, though ironically a product of genetic engineering, she also believes in God. She's not violent nor as easily upset as the Soma persona. When Marie's memories returned, the Soma persona didn't contest against Marie for control. Both personalities coexisted and Soma was okay with Marie leaving the ESF and taking allegiance to Allelujah Haptism and Celestial Being.

The two personalities existed side by side with very little conflict, until Sergei Smirnov died during the events of the Break Pillar Incident. The violent death of the man who had been her commander, teacher, mentor, and even family overwhelmed both personalities. Grief drove Marie to hide in the depths of her psyche, while Soma processed her pain by vowing vengeance against her father's killer, Andrei Smirnov.

As a super-soldier, Soma/Marie has enhanced human reflexes and endurance for the harshness of space. Unlike the earlier generation super soldiers, Soma/Marie is a design baby, she was genetically engineered and bred as a tool for war. Marie was enhanced with the utilization of quantum brainwaves, but unclear was it a surgical modification or genetic alteration. Her quantum brainwaves are capable of communicating with others to her wavelength; Allelujah Haptism was the only one seemed capable of direct communication. Her body is also filled with nano-machines, allowing her to temporarily endure the vacuum of space and an increased healing factor because of it; it's unclear if the nano-machines grants immortality or long term youth like those of Innovators. After the Soma Peries persona was inserted into Marie, Soma apparently utilizes her quantum brainwaves differently, causing adverse affects against those with others to her wavelength; Allelujah Haptism is also the only one with such a severe reaction. As Marie, Allelujah has no reaction against her brainwaves; as Soma, both would endure severe headaches and disorientation relative to proximity.

Additionally to her quantum brainwaves, she can sense the presence of other Innovades. Whenever an Innovade uses their quantum brainwaves, she can naturally detect their presence nearby; the depth of her senses are undefined. When exposed to high grade quantum brainwaves, Soma/Marie is temporarily granted precognition as she was able to sense impending danger when Memento Mori was fired and threatened the life of Sergei Smirnov. She's a C-grade quantum brainwave user.

Soma pilots the GN-011 Gundam Harute. The GN-011 Gundam Harute is a transformable mobile suit developed by Celestial Being as the successor to the GN-007 Arios Gundam, and can similarly switch between MS Form (also known as "MS Mode") and Flight Form (also known as "Flight Mode", "Flight Position", "MA Mode"). Development of Harute utilized the operational data of Arios and its support unit, the GNR-101A GN Archer, combining the capabilities of both machines into one. Furthermore, weapon technology from the GNR-010/XN XN Raiser was also incorporated. As a result, Harute has improved combat power while maintaining the transformable, high mobility concept that started with the predecessor of Arios, the GN-003 Gundam Kyrios , and it excels in high-speed hit and run attacks. The Harute was designed by chief mechanic, Ian Vashti, as a dedicated machine for the Super Soldiers Allelujah Haptism and Soma Peries, so it featured a two-seater cockpit, the first of its kind amongst the Gundams. It is also equipped with a unique Marute Mode that unleashes the power of its Super Soldier pilots.

With Celestial Being low on resources and funds after its narrow victory against the A-Laws and the Innovades who falsely claimed to be Innovators, the Harute was built by reusing the frame structure design of the Arios, and its basic components were also derived from its predecessor's. Like Arios, the GN Drive of the Harute is installed in the pelvic region. For propulsion, the Harute is equipped with six GN Verniers, two mounted on the outer sides of the legs, two mounted at the bottom of the knee armor and covered by movable thrust deflection panels, and two mounted at the back of the rear waist-mounted side containers. The design of the Harute's side containers, Flight Form's nose unit, and the transformation system seemed to be influenced by the GN Archer. Furthermore, it is said that the incorporation of functions from the GN Archer led to Harute's Flight Form gaining the characteristics of a heavy attack fighter, enhancing its combat capabilities.

Unlike Kyrios and Arios, which emphasized mobility instead of attack power, the design concept of the Harute focused more on increasing its combat power. This shift in thinking was due to Celestial Being's experiences in battling the A-Laws and Innovades, so like its fellow new Gundam, the GN-010 Gundam Zabanya, the Harute was designed to be more heavily armed and capable of fighting multiple enemies by itself. The Harute is therefore equipped with a GN Missile Container as part of its standard armament, when previously such a weapon was only an optional armament for Kyrios or a later enhancement to Arios. Other standard armaments of the Harute included a pair of GN Sword Rifles, which combined the functions of a rifle, sword, and scissor-like claw into one, a pair of powerful GN Cannons built into the tips of the side containers, and ten GN Scissor Bits, which are melee combat specialized remote-controlled weaponry. All these armaments are usable in MS Form and Flight Form, with the GN Sword Rifles capable of ranged and melee combat in both forms, and this enabled the Harute to adapt to a wider range of battle situations.

While Harute's combat power is significantly improved, its characteristic as a high mobility mobile suit is somewhat weakened, and it is regarded to be less mobile than the GNX-903VS Brave Standard Test Type/GNX-903VW Brave Commander Test Type of the Earth Sphere Federation Forces. Nevertheless, Harute is still recognized as a high mobility unit, and in battle, it takes advantages of its high-speed to charge into the center of enemy forces as the battle begins and causes confusion by attacking multiple enemies simultaneously with its powerful armaments, creating a favourable combat environment for allied Gundams that arrived after it. The Harute's combat power can be further enhanced via optional equipment, such as the leg-mounted boosters equipped during the final battle against the "Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifter". Called "GN Vernier Units", the pair of boosters featured high-output GN Verniers as well as ten more GN Scissor Bits to enhance Harute's mobility and attack power respectively.

The chest-mounted cockpit of the Harute has been expanded to fit two pilots, with Soma operating the fire control system from her front seat, while Allelujah pilots the mobile suit from the elevated rear seat. This division of roles is said to have enabled smooth and efficient operation of the Harute, which has a more complex system due to its variety of weapons and transformation mechanism. The Harute also has a unique Marute Mode, whereby its face changes and special operating systems are activated to combine the reflexes and thoughts of Allelujah, Hallelujah (Allelujah's alternate personality), and Soma, enabling the Super Soldier pilots to launch powerful attacks. Like Kyrios and Arios, Harute can activate Trans-Am System to boost its output, defense, and mobility for a limited time, and this system can be used with Marute Mode to maximize the mobile suit's performances. Overall, Harute can be described as the ultimate transformable, high mobility mobile suit designed for Super Soldiers, and has increased combat capabilities for fighting multiple enemies simultaneously.

(Armaments)

GN Sword Rifle: The primary armament of the GN-011 Gundam Harute, the GN Sword Rifle combined the functions of a GN Sword, a GN Beam Rifle, and a claw into one, making it suitable for both ranged and close combat. The GN Sword Rifle has three different modes: Rifle, Sword, and Claw. In Rifle Mode, the weapon's muzzle and gun grip are exposed, and it can switch between firing intermittent beams rapidly or firing focused beams. In Sword Mode, the muzzle is concealed and the gun grip is retracted, with the weapon held using a fixed grip built into the rear. The Sword Mode utilizes a clear, crystal-like blade built into the weapon's outer edge to cut/damage the enemy. This blade seemed to be reinforced by a GN Field, and resembles the blade of the GNT-0000 00 Qan[T]'s GN Sword V. The Claw Mode's appearance is similar to the Rifle Mode's, but with the bottom section opening up into a scissor-like claw for severing the enemy. It is said that beams can be emitted from the slits in the upper and lower cutting surface of the scissor-like claw.

The GN Sword Rifle was developed using weapon technology from the GNR-010/XN XN Raiser , and the Harute is standardly equipped with two such rifles. Before this, Harute's predecessor, the GN-007 Arios Gundam, trial tested the dual wielding of rifles using two GN Twin Beam Rifles. In Harute's Flight Form, the two GN Sword Rifles are mounted on the left and right sides of the mobile suit to serve as wings, enabling high mobility. Additionally, the GN Sword Rifles can still be used offensively in Flight Form as their muzzles can be exposed to shoot at enemies diagonally in front. It is also possible for the Flight Form to fly pass enemy units and cut them in half using the blades of the GN Sword Rifles. When Harute is launching from the CBS-742 Ptolemaios 2 Kai's catapult in Flight Form, the GN Sword Rifles are folded upward, possibly due to limited space.

GN Cannon: A long-range beam cannon built into the tip of each of the side container mounted behind the waist. The pair of GN Cannons served as the main weaponry during Flight Form, enabling Harute to move at high-speed while destroying enemies in its path. As the side containers are rotatable, the GN Cannons are usable in MS Form for attacking enemies above, in front, etc. While the GN Cannons consumed a large amount of GN Particles, they are the Harute's strongest ranged weapons, and their immense firepower cannot be blocked by ordinary shields. The GN Cannons can be fired alongside the GN Sword Rifles in both Flight Form and MS Form. Furthermore, when the GN Cannons and the GN Sword Rifles' Rifle Mode are facing forward in MS Form, they can work together to generate a huge beam blast capable of vaporizing multiple enemy units in one shot.

GN Scissor Bit: A newly developed remote-controlled weaponry unique to the Harute. The speedy and highly maneuverable GN Scissor Bit is specialized for melee combat, with its tip opening up into a scissor-like form to cut or damage the enemy. The cutting surfaces of the GN Scissor Bit are lined with a pair of GN Field-reinforced blades like those of the GN Sword Rifle, enabling it to cut/damage the "Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifter (ELS)" without being assimilated. The Harute is normally equipped with 10 GN Scissor Bits, 5 bits stored in the rear of each side container, and they are launched from a top-side hatch at each container's rear. During the final battle with the ELS, the Harute has 10 more GN Scissor Bits stored in the knee sections of the leg-mounted "GN Vernier Units", for a total of 20 GN Scissor Bits. The GN Scissor Bits can be deployed in both Flight Form and MS Form, and they are controlled using the quantum brainwaves of Harute's Super Soldier pilots. These bits operate primarily in the medium-range combat zone, and are particularly effective when there are many enemies that cannot be dealt with using simple guided weapons such as missiles.

GN Missile Container: A standard armament of the Harute, such a missile container first appeared as an optional armament for the GN-003 Gundam Kyrios. Mounted on the back of the Harute's waist, the GN Missile Container is loaded with numerous guided GN Missiles and can be used in both Flight Form and MS Form. Multiple missiles can be fired from the container's 12 hatches simultaneously, and once these missiles hit their targets, they release GN Particles to destroy the enemies from within. While unsuitable for precision strikes, these missiles are effective when used as a barrage or for dealing with multiple enemies. After the missiles are fired, the container can be purged and used as a bomb.

(Special Equipment & Features)

Marute Mode: Unique to the GN-011 Gundam Harute, the Marute Mode was designed to unleash the power of the mobile suit's two Super Soldier pilots, and it is usable in both MS Form and Flight Form. Super Soldiers are enhanced soldiers created by the Human Reform League through modifications to the body and nervous system, and they possess reflex speeds and physical abilities that surpass those of ordinary people. It is said that "the mark of a true Super Soldier is one that combines reflexes and thoughts". When Marute Mode is activated, three special operating systems would be booted up and ran simultaneously, one each for Allelujah, Hallejuah (Allelujah's alternate personality), and Soma, and this enabled the reflexes and thoughts of all three users to be combined for launching powerful attacks. The Harute's face in MS Form also changes during Marute Mode: the visor covering the two main camera eyes is stored, the two main camera eyes turn red, and two more pairs of red camera eyes are revealed, for a total of six red camera eyes.

Trans-Am System: A system that when activated would fully release all of the compressed high-density GN Particles accumulated in the mobile suit, enhancing its mobility and defensive capabilities as well as allowing it to perform at three times its normal output for a limited time. Additionally, the entire mobile suit appears red and afterimages are generated when moving. Furthermore, the Harute can use the Trans-Am System together with the Marute Mode to maximize its performance. Unfortunately, the Trans-Am System is a double-edged sword, as once it ended, the mobile suit’s performance would drop as all its GN Particles were used up. This negative effect would last until the stored GN Particles within the mobile suit returned to normal level. The Gundams deployed by Celestial Being since AD 2312 were designed on the premise of using the Trans-Am System, thus the drop in performance would not be that severe until they could not battle. Moreover, these Gundams could deactivate the system at any time.

GN Vernier Unit: During the final battle with the "Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifter", the Harute was fitted with a pair of leg-mounted boosters known as "GN Vernier Units". The two GN Vernier Units were equipped with high-output GN Verniers to improve Harute's mobility, and they also have containers in the knee sections that stored 10 GN Scissors Bits (5 bits per GN Vernier Unit), thereby enhancing the mobile suit's combat power as well.

Bit Control System: A system for controlling a mobile weapon's remote-controlled weaponry, such as the Harute's GN Scissor Bits. The GN Scissor Bits are controlled from the high-speed moving Harute through the Super Soldier pilot's quantum brainwaves. This unique control method enabled stable operation of the bits, even when their distances and positions are changing rapidly.

"Veda-linked Operating System": The operating system of Celestial Being's Gundams used to be linked to Veda, allowing the quantum processing system to provide piloting support. The actions of traitors in AD 2308 forced the switch to a stand-alone operating system, and it was until AD 2312 that Celestial Being reconnected with Veda. As the organization resumed usage of the quantum processing system in its operations, it is possible that the Veda-linked operating system was installed in Harute.
