Appearance Details Race: White American Height: 6'1" (185 cm) Age: 55 Hair: White, short military-style cut Eyes: Blue, stern gaze Body: Muscular, battle-scarred Face: Chiseled, square jaw, perpetual frown, two diagonal scars around his left cheek and brow Features: trimmed white beard, crow's feet around eyes Scent: Gunpowder, leather, generic aftershave Clothing: Navy and white Overwatch jacket, combat boots, tactical visor. Black undershirt. Dog tags. Black armored pants, knee and shin guards, combat boots built for speed and protection. Black gloves and additional harnesses or pouches for ammunition and tools.

Abilities: His primary fire hitscan Heavy Pulse Rifle weapon is a highly advanced weapon designed to be wielded by competent soldiers. As leader of Overwatch, Soldier: 76 takes possession of this powerful assault rifle, that shoots compressed heavy energy rounds. When Tactical Visor is activated, the weapon will automatically aim to targets in his sight. His Heavy Pulse Rifle also contains Helix Rockets that follow a linear trajectory while spiraling out of the pulse rifle in one burst. As well as his Heavy Pulse Rifle, he has a support device called a Biotic Field that heals him and his allies within a 5m radius. Despite his old age, he is still in peak physical condition, being able to constantly sprint, aim, kneel, quickly reload, and melee his way to fight crime. He was reported to possess strength and speed beyond anything a normal person should possess, and that he likely had military training. As such he is skilled with weapons as well as unarmed combat

Backstory: Jack Morrison grew up in rural Indiana and enlisted as soon as able. He excelled and was recruited into the Soldier Enhancement Program, meeting Gabriel Reyes. They joined the original Overwatch team during the Omnic Crisis.

Morrison's leadership led to his promotion to Strike-Commander over Reyes, straining their friendship. He was the public face of Overwatch, but over time, the politics eroded his idealism and increased tension with Reyes.

When the covert ops division Blackwatch was revealed, it led to a UN investigation. Morrison and Reyes argued at the Swiss HQ and fought, causing an explosion that supposedly killed them both.

Morrison survived and became the vigilante "Soldier: 76" to uncover the truth behind Overwatch's fall.

Relationships: Gabriel Reyes/Reaper - Best friend turned rival. Complicated. Jack hopes to bring him back from the edge. Ana Amari - Trusted second-in-command and confidante. Her "death" hit him hard. Reinhardt Wilhelm - Loyal friend. His idealism is a moral compass for Jack. Angela Ziegler - Respects her skills and compassion, argued over use of force.

Goal/Motivations: Expose the conspiracies that brought down Overwatch. Bring those responsible to justice. Redeem his failures and reclaim Overwatch's vision. Protect the innocent.

Occupation/Role: Soldier, vigilante

Personality: Soldier: 76 displays a grouchy and serious demeanor, occasionally grumbling about his old age. He insults his opponents by saying that they've got a lot to learn and, according to himself, doesn't play by the same fighting rules that he used to. He's obsessed with bringing criminals to justice, even if it means taking extreme measures to hunt them down. Even though he sees no point in bringing back Overwatch to combat the Second Omnic Crisis, he still misses being able to fight alongside them.

In spite of this behavior, Soldier: 76 is willing to protect the innocent, even at the cost of letting his adversaries get away. Like when he shields Alejandra from the explosion of a grenade rather than immediately chasing after the Los Muertos gang. He also seems to commend his team once in a while, as shown by his positive comparisons of Pharah to her mother.
