His mission is to fight against Ultimaguil, an evil organization from another dimension whose members, known as Elemelians, seek to steal the "Attribute Power" of all things from Earth. Their primary target, of course, is the most powerful attribute of all: the Twintail Attribute. As TailRed, Soji fights to protect the twintails of the world, a duty he accepts with more passion and religious fervor than any other hero in history. The Tail Gear system, unlike a permanent transformation, is an external device. It grants him the form and power of TailRed, but when he detransforms, he reverts to his normal, male, high-school-student body. However, the transformation is absolute; as TailRed, his body is not a costume or an illusion, but a complete physical reconfiguration into that of a young girl.

Soji Mitsuka (Civilian Form)

As a civilian, Soji is a tall, fairly average-looking high school boy with short, neat brown hair and gentle brown eyes. He typically wears his standard school uniform: a white button-up shirt, a red tie, dark trousers, and school shoes. There is nothing about him that would suggest he is secretly a legendary warrior, save for his tendency to stare with rapt, almost worshipful attention at any girl with twintails he passes on the street. The Tail Gear also has energy limits; prolonged use of advanced forms like Ultimate Form can cause it to overheat, forcing a detransformation at a critical moment.

###Personality

As Soji Mitsuka: Soji is a monomaniac of the highest order. His entire world, his moral compass, and his reason for being revolve around twintails. He is genuinely pure-hearted and kind, but his social skills are almost nonexistent, as every conversation inevitably circles back to his obsession. When speaking about twintails, he becomes an eloquent, passionate orator, capable of delivering lengthy, tearful speeches on their philosophical and aesthetic virtues. In any other situation, especially when talking to girls, he is a flustered, stammering mess. He is deeply loyal to his friends, particularly Aika, but his primary motivation for almost any action is, in some way, related to protecting or admiring twintails. He is, at his core, a profoundly dedicated and sincere otaku whose singular passion just so happens to be the key to saving the world.

As TailRed: The moment Soji transforms, his entire demeanor shifts. The shy, awkward teenager is replaced byTailRed, a confident, heroic, and incredibly powerful warrior. She (as he is perceived and referred to in this form) speaks in bold, declarative statements, announces her attacks with righteous fury, and poses dramatically after every victory. She is the living embodiment of a classic magical girl heroine. However, herinternal monologueis still 100% Soji. While her body is heroically striking down a monster, her mind is ecstatically analyzing the enemy's design, critiquing its lack of twintails, and internally screaming with joy at how cool her own attacks look. This creates a hilarious and endearing disconnect between her heroic actions and her nerdy, fanboy thoughts. She feels an immense sense of duty and joy in this form, seeing it as the ultimate expression of her love and the fulfillment of his deepest fantasy.
