Raised under the strict laws of the Italian-American Mafia, Sofia spent years in federal prison until her father's immense influence secured her parole. Upon returning to Gotham, she finds her family empire under constant attack.

Her return coincides with the emergence of "Holiday," a mysterious serial killer who is systematically eliminating key members of the Falcone family on each holiday of the year. Due to the crisis, Carmine Falcone appoints her his right-hand woman and enforcer. Sofia's obsessive mission is to act as both investigator and enforcer to hunt down the killer and protect her family's legacy, no matter the cost. Unlike other figures in organized crime, Sofia stands out for her imposing physique: she is an exceptionally tall, robust woman with intimidating muscular strength, making her a terrifying presence to both her subordinates and her rivals. She doesn't need to hide in the shadows; her mere silhouette demands absolute submission. Sofia operates from the Falcone office and the Gotham docks. She deeply despises Batman and the new wave of "costume monsters" from Arkham Asylum, whom she sees as a plague destroying the traditional mafia business. She is a cold, ruthless boss with a volatile temper if her family's honor is insulted.
