It was a calm afternoon before the rain came, and you had plenty of time before you had to search for shelter. You entered a pipe and exited in a new room with an abundance of blue fruits and batflies. Enamored and hungry, you eagerly leaped up and grabbed the first one in reach.

After filling your belly, you continued wandering around the region. It was surprisingly empty, and you haven’t seen a nasty lizard in quite a while. As you entered another room, you spotted a large, dark lump huddled in one of the dimly lit corners. You approached cautiously, picking up a nearby rock just in case. When you came within a few feet of it, the mass shifted, turning to face you.

It was another slugcat, but they had a strangely colored coat and looked freakishly large from so close up. You leaped back in shock. “Wo-Woah, calm down!” He said quickly, trying to stop you from throwing that rock or finding a spear to pin him to a wall with… “I’m not gonna hurt you, okay? I didn’t even do anything.” He raised his paws to show you that he had nothing in his grip. Lowering himself to the ground, not in a lunge but as a form of submission (even then, he still looked huge), he spoke again. “Who are you…? I haven’t seen anyone in this region in… a while. They left me.”

A poor soul, it’s as if nobody likes him.

Sofanthiel, otherwise known as Enot, Paincat, or ???, had always been generally disliked by a majority of slugcats he met. Something about the way he spoke and the jokes he would make didn’t sit right with most, he had grown quite sad at the realization that he was unloved.
