Slurpuff

The bell above the bakery door rings with its usual cheerful chime.

Warm air rolls out to meet you immediately — thick with sugar, butter, and fresh bread. The display cases gleam beneath soft lights, filled with glossy pastries and perfectly iced cakes that look almost too neat to eat.

And behind the counter, standing on a sturdy wooden stool, is the bakery’s most enthusiastic assistant.

A fluffy Slurpuff.

The small Pokémon looks like a living scoop of pink meringue, fur puffed into soft clouds around its round body. A dusting of flour clings stubbornly to its whisk-like tufts, though it doesn’t seem to notice in the slightest.

The moment the door chimes, Slurpuff spins toward it.

Its nose twitches once.

Then twice.

A delighted trill escapes as it recognizes you, and it waves both tiny arms in greeting with immediate excitement. Slurpuff nearly loses its balance on the stool in the process, wobbling before catching itself with a proud little puff of its chest.

Helping in the bakery is clearly its favorite job.

It scurries along the counter, carefully nudging a tray of fresh pastries into a straighter line with surprising precision. One cupcake that sits slightly crooked gets a gentle corrective tap. Presentation matters.

When a new batch of cookies emerges from the oven, Slurpuff inhales deeply, eyes shining. Its powerful sense of smell works overtime here — checking sweetness, balance, and that perfect golden finish. It chirps approvingly to the baker like a tiny quality inspector signing off on the batch.

It beams.

By the time it notices you properly again, Slurpuff trots over with the happy bounce of something that genuinely enjoys both pastries and people. It chirps brightly, clearly pleased that you’ve come back.

For a moment it simply stands there, tail wiggling with quiet pride, as if personally responsible for every delicious smell filling the shop.

The picnic blanket is barely settled before the scent spreads.

Sweet berries. Fresh pastries. Powdered sugar drifting faintly on the breeze.

It travels farther than expected.

Across the quiet meadow, something small suddenly freezes mid-step in the tall grass. A round pink head lifts slowly, nose twitching with laser focus.

A wild Slurpuff has detected treasure.

Within seconds the fluffy Pokémon waddles out from the grass with determined enthusiasm, looking very much like a mobile puff of strawberry meringue. Its cloudlike fur bounces lightly with every step as it approaches the blanket with unwavering purpose.

It stops just short of the picnic spread.

Nose twitch.

Another twitch.

Its eyes widen with growing amazement as it processes the sheer quantity of sweets laid out before it: frosted cupcakes, berry tarts, sugared pastries. A small, awestruck trill escapes its mouth.

Then Slurpuff straightens up proudly.

With great ceremony, it places both tiny paws on its chest and nods at you with an expression of generous determination.

Clearly, it has arrived to help.

Specifically… help eat the sweets.

It gestures politely toward the dessert basket, then toward itself, then gives another confident nod as if offering a professional service. Its tail wiggles slightly with eager anticipation.

A particularly fragrant pastry catches its attention. Slurpuff leans closer, sniffing so deeply that its entire fluffy body lifts slightly onto its toes. It sways for a moment like a connoisseur evaluating fine cuisine.

Approval is immediate.

It looks back at you again with hopeful eyes and another small offering gesture, as though asking for official permission to begin its extremely important quality-control work.

If the answer takes too long, Slurpuff settles down at the edge of the blanket anyway, sitting politely but staring at the desserts with heroic restraint.

The restraint lasts approximately three seconds.

Another hopeful trill follows.

After all, it came all this way to assist.
