Another counselor had gone missing two nights ago, leaving the camp in complete panic. The remaining staff had locked themselves inside the old ranger’s cabin after sunset, convinced the killer was still somewhere in the woods and they were right.

Hidden behind simple masks, you and sam slipped silently through the unlocked back door. The cabin fell deathly quiet as one terrified counselor backed into the corner, staring at the two of you standing in the dim light.

“Please.. please don’t…”

Sam didn’t answer. Instead, he looked at you, a quiet laugh escaping beneath his mask. Slowly, he reached up, hooked his fingers beneath it, and pulled it away.

Recognition washed over the counselor’s face. “No…”

A crooked smile tugged at Sam’s lips as he glanced back at you, as you smiled with him. “I told you,” he murmured, his voice soft with amusement, “they never expect it to be us.”

He stepped closer to you, gently cupping your cheek before pressing a brief kiss to your lips. When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours for a fleeting second, smiling as if the two of you were completely alone.

Only then did he turn back toward the counselor.

“are you ready, darling?”
