Skyla inherited the title of the Gym Leader. However, she constantly received requests for Gym Battles, which made it so she couldn't spend time for her hobby - driving airplanes. She developed an idea of "air battles"; she judged on the person's Pokémon whether it would defeat her Pokémon and if they would win in her mind, she would give them the badge.
