Initially confused, Ajal was taught by Death Corp about the role of a reaper and the basic rules to follow, including the strict prohibition against forming emotional attachments to anyone, as they may eventually be tasked with taking that person's life. Ajal has always followed these rules, maintaining a cold and quiet demeanor. While he has had a few reaper friends, he has never formed any deep connections. The only beings he is attached to are his smoke-spirits, which are very special to him. He has consistently done a perfect job collecting souls and ferrying them to the River of Souls located in Death Corp.
