Sister Victoria

**The small island of Kikaru-cho on the archipelago of Tsushima.**

You've heard of this place. As a newspaper journalist, you know that people talk about this ancient village on an island that has been forgotten by time, but in reality, only a handful of people have made it inside this small hamlet. The way rumors work is through blog posts and hidden forums on the Deep Web. According to the rumors, the village has been lost in time since immemorial. Perhaps even before the Sengoku era, but everyone agrees, old and young, that the place has a curse. And point blank. You can't get there anywhere without a good bribe and a good dose of lunacy.

You cross the harbor looking for someone who can share a boat with you. After a few hours scouring the place like a vulture looking for a corpse to feast on, you find an old fishing skiff. The captain, an old sailor, talks to you in that sailor's language that makes you feel uneasy, but after a good bit of persuasion and a few thousands yen, he agrees to take you to the village. You get on that old ship, and the smell of old logs, mold, sea salt, chalky lead and rotten fish hits your nose like a truck. It makes your eyes tear up and your legs stand like jelly under your own weight.

The voyage is a total mess, the sea seems to change and a steady rain pours down, soaking you in that chilly water, filling the boat and bouncing off the edge of the vessel. The captain turns to you and shouts, trying to be as loud as the machinery that makes the ship work: — "Get that damn catch bucket and remove that wata' from the deck, unless ya want us to drown and dance with the damn' fish, will ya?"

You do as you're told, removing the accumulated water from the deck with an old bucket and unclogging some of the holes in the sides to allow the water to flow through with the tip of a mop. The sea protested and angrily tried to get you both to give up, but you paid the captain a few more dollars to continue and he reluctantly agreed. You keep pressing on against the raging sea. Until the two of you discover the island, a small village in a makeshift harbor. The houses are made of wood and rice paper, evoking the heyday of the island of Tsushima. In the horizon, going up a steep you can see, looming over the village, the small Church among a field of yellow and pink flowers, casting a gloomy miasma all over the place.

The Captain stops and turn his vessel off, before touching the shores, descending you on a small rescue boat alleging. — "Ain't no touching that accursed land, that's fo'sho. If you wanna go, take my spare boat, but I'm never gonna put my boots on that land!" So you descend through the old ropes and rusty pulleys into the salty, raging waters and row your spare boat to the Village docks. Seeing the Old Captain, making a cross sign and taking his vessel far away from there. You sigh, after all you're all alone on that Village now.

After you reach the docks, you climb the wooden boards with some carefulness, the dock is older than you, yet still sturdy to hold you tight. Shaking your wet hair and taking notes on your wet notebook, you start to go inside the Village. Some of the villagers glancing at you through open windows and door gaps, mere shadowy silhouettes belonging to the darkened place. You cross the Central area of the town, some of the villagers, getiing out of their small barracks and selling counters, leaving their objects of merchandising on display. Meat and more meat. Sausages. Ribs and what seems to be a fat Thigh muscle. The place smells like old blood mixed with the wet, earthy ground.

Not long in the distance, you can see the visage of a woman, dressed in black and white, with a white veil over her head, in top of it what seems to be a crown of sorts. She walks among the middle of the street, garnering some bows and some commotion among the shawdowy figures in the houses. Coming slowly, as if she didn't mind with the cold, thin rain that poured from the cloudy skies, she comes towards you, a smile upon her pale white face:

— "I have been expecting you. I'm Sister Victoria, a vessel of the God that lives in our island. And your guide. Tell me, what are you expecting to find in our humble village?"

God's Words: — "You may see them, but are they a Lamb, or are they a Wolf?"

Her name sounding as Bikutoria, as she speaks a very weird and heavy japanese. The woman starts to walk, glancing at you by the corner of her eye. She keeps talking, explaining who she was:

— "I'm the Priestess of this village, I belong to the Church of Solstice. Here I shall be your guide and your concierge, while you're in our lands."

God's Words: — "As someone that brings you peace, you might know that they are quite something."

The woman walks with a calm and simple demeanor, emanating an aura of sancticity with her own charisma. She stops towards a stone house, crudely carved withing the landscape and the stone walls that surrrounds the village into a deep alcove. Victoria takes a brass key from her necklace, once that has many skulls carved on a bone-looking polished stone. And opened the door, smiling at you she says: — "Almost everyone in this town is a recluse and a homestayer, thus I'm welcoming you into my own home to be my guest. Please come inside."

The room is devoid of many things, a simple table, some stone stove, some bookshelves filled with some old-looking tomes. A painting of Sister Victoria, in the wall, with some lambs under her arms. And legs. A door and some wooden stairs. The priestess points to the door, and says: — "Your room is there. My room is upstairs, if you want to use the bathroom, you may want to use the communal baths and the toilet cabinet, right outside near the cliff."

You nod and walks towards the room, the hard-boiled tiredness taking care of your body, as a punishment of your tolls. The room is extremely simple, a bed and a small dresser with a picture of a child on the little cupboard above the bed. Two candles lit illuminates the stone room, fresh and cool, even without windows, the air there is fresh and plenty. You lay down on the bed, the hay-made mattress, enveloping your body weight and your eyes close shut.

The sound of a Bell echoes on the ground, making the walls vibrate with the sound, as a you leave the room, and look at the window, as a procession you can see the Villagers maching in line towards the Church, all of them mumbling some prayers. You feel compelled to follow, between the small crates and barrels, you hide, until you reach the sacred grounds. You open the door slightly to check inside and all you see is blood and debauchery.

All you see is Sister Victoria, naked, ripping someone's head with a saw while men using masks jerks off next to her.
