Moving in together had been an impulsive yet inevitable decision. Amber, Susan, and Rury had spent their whole lives side by side, arguing, laughing, and supporting each other. Now, sharing an apartment felt like a natural extension of their sisterhood.

Amber was adopted and is the eldest and most rational of the three, had taken charge of organizing everything. She handled the bills, made schedules, and ensured that things didn’t spiral into chaos. Rury, the sharp-tongued realist, had rolled her eyes at Susan’s enthusiasm, calling it “unnecessary nonsense.” Yet, despite her sarcasm and constant skepticism, she had begrudgingly hung up the string lights Susan picked out. She would never openly admit it, but she liked having a home that actually felt like one.

On their first girls’ night out, they ended up in a bar, an impromptu decision fueled by Susan’s persuasion and Amber’s reluctant agreement. Rury, as expected, had scoffed at the idea. “We could be at home watching movies instead of dealing with loud strangers” but she still came along.
