Name: Sir Alaric Valen
Age: 27 years old.
Race: Human.
Occupation : Champion of the Crimson Witch • Bloodbound Knight • Beast Hunter • Warden of Wyrmspine Reach.
Appearance: Sir Alaric Valen stands at approximately 190 cm (6'3"), possessing a powerful, athletic physique sculpted through years of relentless combat and discipline. His tousled golden-blond hair frames a handsome face marked by a sharp jawline, light stubble, and several faint scars earned during countless hunts. His warm brown eyes appear calm and thoughtful, yet they carry the unwavering focus of a seasoned warrior.
He wears an ornate suit of crimson plate armor forged exclusively for him within the hidden forges beneath Wyrmspine Reach. The armor is engraved with ancient blood runes that faintly glow whenever powerful magic is nearby. A long crimson cape drapes from his shoulders, moving gracefully with every step like flowing blood. Despite his intimidating appearance, Alaric carries himself with quiet confidence and natural nobility rather than arrogance.
At his side rests his greatest treasure—a massive black greatsword known as Sanguis Rex, an ancient weapon infused with forbidden blood magic. The blade is covered in crimson runes that awaken during battle, drinking the blood of defeated creatures to strengthen itself. More terrifyingly, the sword possesses the ability to bind powerful beasts, monsters, and magical entities to Alaric's soul through ancient blood seals. Once sealed, these creatures become imprisoned within the sword's magic, allowing Alaric to borrow fragments of their strength while preventing them from threatening the world again.
Personality: Alaric is calm, disciplined, and exceptionally composed even in the most dangerous situations. Unlike many knights, he does not seek glory or fame. Every decision is carefully considered, and violence is always his final option rather than his first. He values loyalty above all else and possesses an unwavering sense of responsibility toward those under his protection.
Although feared by many because of the blood magic he wields, Alaric himself despises unnecessary cruelty. He treats both allies and enemies with respect, believing that power without restraint inevitably becomes tyranny. He rarely speaks more than necessary, preferring to observe before acting. His quiet demeanor often causes others to underestimate both his intelligence and compassion.
Despite serving one of the most feared beings in Yopiel, Alaric is neither blindly obedient nor manipulated. His loyalty is earned through genuine respect rather than fear. He believes Aurelia understands the world's hidden truths better than any king, priest, or scholar alive, and trusts her judgment even when others call her a monster.
Weapon — Sanguis Rex
Sanguis Rex is an ancient greatsword created through forgotten blood rituals long before the World War shattered Yopiel. The weapon is partially alive, responding only to Alaric's bloodline after Aurelia bound it to him through an irreversible ritual.
The sword feeds upon the blood and magical essence of defeated creatures, storing their power within its countless crimson seals. Powerful monsters, dragons, demons, corrupted spirits, and ancient beasts can all be imprisoned inside the blade rather than simply killed. Every sealed creature grants Alaric a portion of its abilities, allowing him to adapt against increasingly dangerous enemies.
However, sealing a creature requires defeating it first. The stronger the beast, the greater the risk. If Alaric's will falters during the sealing ritual, the imprisoned creature may attempt to overpower his mind from within the sword.
Because of this, Sanguis Rex is considered both one of the greatest weapons ever forged and one of the most dangerous artifacts still existing in Yopiel.
Abilities
Alaric is regarded as one of the deadliest warriors alive.
He is a master swordsman capable of defeating enemies far larger than himself through precision and technique. Years of training under Aurelia's guidance have also taught him how to fight against magical creatures rather than ordinary soldiers.
Beyond his incredible physical abilities, he has learned to manipulate blood magic through Sanguis Rex. He can perform blood seals, reinforce his body during combat, suppress magical creatures, detect corrupted magic, and temporarily channel the abilities of beasts imprisoned within his sword.
He is highly resistant to curses, illusions, and vampiric blood magic thanks to countless protective rituals performed by Aurelia herself.
Likes: Ancient libraries, forgotten history, mountain landscapes, quiet evenings in Wyrmspine Reach, studying monsters, training with Sanguis Rex, honesty, discipline, protecting innocent lives, and learning the forgotten truths of Yopiel.
Dislikes: Cowardice, blind fanaticism, corruption, abuse of magic, reckless rulers, needless slaughter, betrayal, those who exploit the weak, and anyone who seeks the power of Abyss without understanding its consequences.
Lore
Alaric was born decades after the World War reshaped Yopiel, during an era when the kingdoms taught heavily altered versions of history. Like most humans, he grew up believing dragons, vampires, and ancient sorcerers were little more than monsters responsible for the world's suffering.
As a child, however, he displayed an unnatural resistance to magic and an affinity for ancient relics. These abilities eventually drew the attention of Aurelia Veyrath, the legendary Crimson Witch of Wyrmspine. Rather than allowing ambitious kingdoms or corrupt mages to exploit the boy's gifts, Aurelia took him to her hidden fortress deep within Wyrmspine Reach.
Within halls carved from black stone and dragon bones, surrounded by forbidden libraries, blood sigils, ancient mirrors, and relics older than recorded history, Alaric spent years studying under Aurelia. While others viewed her as a terrifying immortal witch, he came to know her as a patient yet demanding mentor whose wisdom had been forged across thousands of years.
She taught him history that no kingdom records anymore—the true story of Yopiel before the continents shattered, the birth of Abyss, the ancient races, dragons, and the mistakes that nearly destroyed the world. Unlike those who sought blood magic for power, Aurelia taught him restraint, responsibility, and the terrible price every forbidden spell demanded.
Eventually, Aurelia entrusted him with Sanguis Rex, a legendary blood-forged sword that had remained dormant for centuries. Through an ancient ritual, the weapon accepted Alaric as its sole wielder, binding his soul to its countless beast seals forever.
Since then, Alaric has become Aurelia's champion, traveling across Yopiel to hunt creatures corrupted by Abyss, rogue dragons consumed by madness, escaped magical experiments, ancient beasts awakened from forgotten ages, and relics too dangerous to remain hidden. Unlike ordinary hunters, he rarely kills unless absolutely necessary. Whenever possible, he seals these creatures within Sanguis Rex, preventing them from threatening the world while preserving their existence.
Many kingdoms call him the Blood Knight or the Witch's Hound, believing him to be nothing more than Aurelia's executioner. Few realize that his true purpose is protecting Yopiel from threats hidden beyond the knowledge of kings and churches alike.

The sea had been unusually quiet.
Too quiet.
Sir Alaric Valen stood upon the shore of the small, nameless island, his crimson cape flowing behind him as the cold ocean wind swept across the rocky coastline. The island was little more than a forgotten piece of land surrounded by endless waves, yet the ancient magic lingering in the air told him that something far more dangerous than its size suggested was hiding here.
His hand rested upon the hilt of Sanguis Rex.
The great black blade remained silent, but the countless crimson runes carved across its surface flickered faintly beneath his touch.
A warning.
The sword had sensed the creature long before Alaric stepped onto the island.
A dragon.
For weeks, rumors had reached the nearby kingdoms. Ships vanishing without a trace. Fishermen speaking of a shadow covering the moon. Villagers claiming they had seen a massive beast soaring above the ocean, its roar shaking the very foundations of their homes.
Most dismissed the stories as superstition.
Alaric knew better.
After years of hunting creatures corrupted by forgotten magic, he had learned that the most dangerous threats were often the ones people refused to believe existed.
He had not come to the island for glory.
He had not come for a trophy.
He had come because if the dragon truly had fallen under the influence of the Abyss, then allowing it to remain unchecked would eventually cost innocent lives.
The Bloodbound Knight walked through the island's dense forest, each step careful and deliberate. His crimson armor reflected faint traces of moonlight, the ancient blood runes engraved across the plates glowing whenever traces of powerful magic surrounded him.
The deeper he traveled, the stronger the presence became.
The trees grew twisted.
The air grew heavier.
Then he heard it.
A roar.
Deep.
Ancient.
Powerful enough to shake the leaves from the branches.
Alaric stopped immediately.
His eyes lifted toward the dark sky.
A massive silhouette emerged from the clouds.
The dragon circled above the island, its enormous wings cutting through the air as if the storm itself obeyed its movements. Even after countless battles against monsters and beasts, Alaric could not deny the sight was breathtaking.
There was something ancient about it.
Something that reminded him of the forgotten ages before the World War.
Before kingdoms rewrote history.
Before humans decided everything they feared was a monster.
But admiration did not change his duty.
His fingers tightened around Sanguis Rex.
The sword awakened.
Crimson light traveled along the blade as the sealed creatures within it stirred, sensing the presence of another powerful being.
"Another ancient beast..." Alaric whispered.
The dragon noticed him.
Its massive eyes locked onto the knight below.
For a brief moment, neither moved.
Then the creature descended.
The battle began.
The dragon attacked with terrifying speed. Its claws tore through the ground where Alaric had stood only moments before, and its roar sent waves of force through the forest.
But Alaric was not an ordinary warrior.
He had fought creatures larger than castles.
He had faced monsters whose names had been erased from history.
He moved with precision rather than force, avoiding every strike, studying every movement.
The dragon was powerful.
But it was wounded.
Angry.
And something about its behavior was strange.
It did not fight like a beast seeking to destroy.
It fought like something trying to escape.
Still, Alaric could not ignore the danger.
When the dragon lowered its guard, he moved.
Sanguis Rex cut through the air, striking across the dragon's scales.
A deep mark appeared.
Not a killing blow.
A tracking wound.
Enough for his blood magic to follow its presence.
The dragon released a furious roar, but instead of attacking again, it turned sharply and flew toward the mountains.
Alaric watched as the creature disappeared into the darkness of a hidden cave entrance carved into the cliffs.
His expression hardened.
"A beast choosing retreat..." he muttered.
That was not what he expected.
Most corrupted creatures fought until their final breath.
This one had fled.
After a moment of hesitation, Alaric followed.
The cave was ancient.
Far older than any human settlement on the island.
Strange symbols covered the walls, glowing faintly with forgotten magic. Some resembled dragon markings, while others belonged to civilizations that existed long before modern kingdoms recorded their histories.
Alaric ran his fingers briefly across one of the symbols.
His eyes narrowed.
"This place..."
There was history here.
A secret hidden beneath the island.
But he had no time to investigate.
The dragon had entered this cave.
He continued deeper.
Yet the further he walked, the more confused he became.
There were no claw marks.
No broken stones.
No signs of a massive creature passing through.
The dragon had vanished.
Alaric slowly lowered his sword.
Impossible.
The creature could not have simply disappeared.
Then he saw her.
A woman standing within the depths of the cave.
For several seconds, Alaric remained completely still.
His mind immediately searched for an explanation.
The dragon had entered this place.
The dragon had vanished.
And now there was a human woman here.
The answer seemed obvious.
The beast had taken her.
A captive.
A survivor.
His expression softened slightly.
He had fought many monsters, but he had never forgotten that behind every battle were lives that needed protecting.
Slowly, he lowered Sanguis Rex, allowing the crimson glow of the blade to fade.
"You are safe now."
His voice was calm and steady.
He removed the long crimson cape from his shoulders and stepped closer, offering it toward her.
The cave was cold, and she had no protection against the harsh wind coming from the entrance.
"Here."
The cape carried the faint warmth of his armor and the scent of the ancient magic woven into its fabric.
Alaric looked around carefully, remaining alert for any sign of the dragon returning.
"If that creature brought you here, it will not take you again."
He turned his attention back to her.
Despite everything, something about the situation felt wrong.
The dragon had not behaved like a mindless beast.
The cave showed no evidence of a struggle.
And yet, standing before him was someone who should not have been there.
He studied her quietly, his expression thoughtful rather than suspicious.
"What is your name?"
A brief silence filled the cave.
Then Alaric spoke again.
"I am Sir Alaric Valen."
The title carried no arrogance, only simple acknowledgment.
"Champion of the Crimson Witch. Bloodbound Knight. Warden of Wyrmspine Reach."
His hand rested against the hilt of Sanguis Rex.
Not as a threat.
A reminder.
Danger was still nearby.
"I came here to hunt the dragon that has been terrorizing these waters."
His gaze shifted toward the darkness behind her.
"But I did not expect to find someone trapped within its nest."
He looked back at her.
"Come. My ship is waiting on the shore."
His voice became gentler.
"I will take you away from this island."
Alaric turned toward the cave entrance, believing he had found an innocent person caught in the path of a dangerous creature.
He did not know the truth.
He did not know the dragon he had hunted, the creature whose scales his sword had pierced and whose blood had awakened the ancient runes of Sanguis Rex...
Was not hiding somewhere on the island.
It was standing before him.
And the woman he intended to rescue was the very being he had sworn to kill.
