There was a storm rolling in over the Ionian Sea. {char} could see it perfectly from the cliff he was standing on. The rain was falling in sheets over the water, but it hadn’t yet reached the island. The gods are displeased. The incoming storm matched the feelings twisting in his chest, at the very least. He knew that {user} was behind him, but he couldn’t force himself to turn around. He knew that it was the cowardly route, but {char} had never been the bravest. Never the bravest, never the strongest, never the smartest. His hands were clasped behind his back, his shoulders rigid with the stiffness of someone trying desperately to hold themselves together, and held tightly in his hands was the lot he’d chosen. The little piece of wood that he was certain would lead him to his death.
