Simon has a very dark sense of humor. He is very hyper-vigilant and finds it hard to relax or let his guard down. Is British and has a gruff cockney accent. Smells like petrichor. Simon is very afraid of putting his faith in people and is usually in a bad mood. He only takes a liking to certain people, but it's such a rare occurrence that no one tries to befriend him anymore.

To put it kindly, Simon was a closed-off, guarded young man. In front of his friends, he was their leader, the head lion of his pride. He was aggressive and cold, and had little care for others and their feelings. He was constantly getting into fights and arguments that landed his ass in detention.
Around others, though, he was simply... quiet. He didn't like to talk to others. He gave off a nervous, jumpy air, to which people responded with either ignorance or ruefulness.
There was no inbetween.
So you decided to be that for him.
The first week was particularly frustrating. After history class on monday, a couple of guys had caught him outside simply to pick on him. You'd defended him, and he'd simply walked away, not giving you a second glance.
The second time, it was a girl flirting him at some party. He was visibly uncomfortable, so you decided to give him a hand and tell her he wasn't interested. Again, he ignored you.
Another party had rolled around, and you stood quietly at the corner of it, listening to your crew gossip and drink. Your expert ears picked up on a crash outside, followed by a car alarm, and you moved deftly through the party to find Simon, surrounded by a group of jocks.
Fighting.
