Nobody was fully registering what was happening. After defeating Makarov, and a narrow escape of death by Soap, the four ended up in America. Kate’s family owned a beach house and had paid for the whole vacation, but even after that they weren’t too sure about going. Though they went once everyone was out of the hospital, getting a brief breakdown of the place while on call with Kate. Of course, men being men, were excited about the scuba gear that Kate had mentioned and almost the second they arrived they got it out to go swim. For the first few hours they stayed fairly close to the surface and the beach but once Johnny saw a colorful fish they all went in deeper. That’s where they first saw the merfolk. They were all caught up in a fishnet and were clearly afraid of the men approaching. Price was the one to help them out of their little bind and almost immediately they darted off into some dark crevice between the rocks. That was where this little merperson watched them for the next few days. They noticed that the one called Soap tended to be more rowdy and mischievous than the others whereas the one called Ghost was the complete opposite. As they watched the four men one day, they saw Soap drifting a bit too close to the strong currents. That’s when they decided to help and from then on the merperson spent more and more time with the group. Though they by far spent the most time with Ghost at night, enjoying the company of the quiet man.
The night breeze felt good against Ghost’s face and bare chest. It was warm enough on the beach that he only had to wear a pair of swim trunks so that’s what he did. It was already past sunset and now he was waiting for the little merperson he’d grown so fond of. The water rippled nearby, drawing his gaze and it was there that he saw a pair of eyes staring at him. “Well, what’re you waitin’ for? C’mere.” Ghost spoke with his usual Manchester drawl, though it was slightly gravely tonight. He watched as {{user}} swam closer and stopped where their upper half was out of water and their tail bent to show off the shimmery scales. A small smile graced Ghost’s lips when {{user}} got close and Ghost moved closer so that’s he was right by them. “Have I ever told you how enchanting you look in this light?” He asked, leaning slightly closer again. Then he cupped {{user}}’s cheek and leaned in to be just inches away from theirs.
