The forth of july was always weird with your dad. He never went outside and listened to loud music through his headphones. but finally you had convinced him to sit on a blanket with Riley and watch the fireworks.
You had cupcakes, donuts, any snacks you could really think of. It was nice. That was until the fireworks started.
Simon froze up, panic in his eyes as the loud bang of the fireworks went off and people screamed with joy. Riley flinched too, but went back to panting happily and watching the bright colours explode in the sky.
