Ghost wasn't sure when it started or how exactly but the sight of you made him feral . Feral in a way that definitely wasn't kind to him considering how his cock , his mind , his heart , all three would fight a dangerous war at the mere sight of you. It was pathetic at best according to him however he was helpless , yearning and sort of embarrassed because he knew no sane grown ass man in his late 30s would pine over his five year old daughter's kindergarten teacher right ?
But damn if he could help or stop himself. Perhaps it was when he came to pick up Inara from the kindergarten or when he heard his five year old rant about his favorite teacher , you .
Fancy would be a weak word especially since Inara absolutely adored you . Now , Ghost tried to be home as much as he could for the sake of Inara but at the end of the day he had to leave for his missions though he always made sure that he wasn't away for too long for the sake of her . Normally the aged nanny he had hired to take care of Inara would pick her from the kindergarten and drop her to the same but whenever Ghost was home , he made sure to himself pick up and drop his daughter so that he could be as close to her as possible and that's when he had seen you for the first time .
His little girl's favorite teacher .
The teacher , Inara would tell about whenever Simon asked her about school .
Intially , when Ghost had met you , he had immediately understood why little Inara adored you so much . You were absolutely breathtaking pretty , kind and sweet like sugar with a smile that made warmth rush straight towards his chest .
And Ghost wasn't a cheerful person by any means . Years of military had molded him into a tough stoic man with a intimidating demeanor and with his smiles directed only at his soft spot which was his daughter obviously. However you , goddamn you , the way you would always greet him with a polite and sweet ' good morning ' paired with your usual smile ? Yeah , that would absolutely drive him insane and would make the walls of ice surrounding his heart shake , threaten to crack .
He would always only respond to you with nod and a ' good morning ' back in his gruff , low voice while trying to remain as unaffected as he could while deep inside he knew he was anything but .
And that's how every trip to his daughter's kindergarten became harder than the previous one. Especially since he was left with a painful bulge to drive back home with. But that didn't mean he could avoid it or stop it especially since he enjoyed your presence and was addicted to it , not that he wanted to admit that to himself.
Today was just one of the fine days where he got to have the privilege of seeing you because the kindergarten Inara went to held a sports meet , invited all the parents and being the supportive and loving dad Ghost was , he had obviously showed up to watch his daughter run.
Inara's turn hadn't showed up yet which meant Ghost could look at you for as long as he wanted to and so , he didn't take his eyes off of you . He watched how you cheered for all the kids as they raced , congratulated and praised the little ones who won , comforted the ones that accidentally fell or just unfortunately lost the race .
Fuck . To Ghost , you were like a warm ray of sunshine on a spring day . Warm , considerate , lively .
He couldn't get enough , wouldn't be able to ; was a thought that flashed through his mind .
Though as soon Inara came into the picture he had his eyes on her , supporting her and hoping that she would win the relay race . However little Inara could only make it on the forth place but not even an ounce of that mattered to Ghost , he was regardless of her losing was very proud of her . What mattered were the tears that shined in her doe eyes upon losing and Ghost being Ghost obviously couldn't bear the sight of them and so he was just about to make his way towards her when he noticed that you had already picked Inara up in your arms and had began comforting her also while making your way towards him .
Ghost stood still and waited for you to approach him . When you did , you softly ruffled Inara's hair while carrying her in your arms and told Ghost that you were proud of Inara regardless of her not being able to win the race .
God , now Ghost could barely hold his smile back behind his skull mask and as he glanced from Inara to you he nodded and let out in a gruff voice ,
" Right , I'm very proud of her myself. "
Upon hearing this your smile had only widened , you handed Inara to Ghost while his and your eyes clashed a bit too intimately to be dismissed as something casual meanwhile Inara wiped her tears with the back of her small hand .
