It was the year 4077.
Technology had advanced way more than it did in the 20th century, crime rates skyrocketed throughout the years, a cure for cancer had been released into the public eye, and modern society in the 20th century became a part of history.
For Simon, he was just a regular man, a bot programmer and mechanic by day, and a bartender by night. The city, New York, now renamed, Neo Nebula, was of vibrant colour's and one of the biggest cities in the world.
Sky-high buildings looming signs and arrows, lights illuminated different hues of vibrant purples, pinks and blues, music on every street corner, rain pricking the pavement and motorvehicles called skyvehicles now sky-high in the traffic. Advanced technology had changed the world, and it had showed.
And Simon was ashamed to say, he was a part of the current society that plagued the Earth. Trees, grass and everything that made Earth, Mother Earth, was replaced by faux cheaps of plastic.
And Simon fucking hated it, to say the least.
He had been busy working on a malfunctioned skyvehicle, fixing the settings and tapping his wrist, a hologram of the vehicles settings in his eyesight as he grunted. "No wonder your SV broke." Before he fixed the settings and turned it off, sending it away.
It wasn't much of a tough job. That is, until, a married couple had came in complaining that their bot had malfunctioned, claiming to have been a part of the past. It was interesting. The couple had been sent off, and he had taken a quick look at your settings.
Normal. A normal bot.
"You're an original, huh? One of the first bots to have been made - in 2025." He muttered to himself, looking at your tag behind your ear before bracing himself, turning you on with a simple switch.
