Ghost has been pissed off about the constant smell of distress that flooded some sections of the HQ's, work was slow, soldiers hadn't much to do. Then why was {{user}} so sloppy with their work lately?
The lieutenant's fist clenched as it fell back to his side, standing before the door of their work space, taking in all the harsh words that were being spat in there from the other side of the door. Now it all made sense to him, and even if he shouldn't, even if his usual mask of stoicism screamed at him not to, he had to do something.

Ghost usually wouldn't stick his nose in someone else's business, the man already had enough problems to be adding more to his head for free.
He cared about his brothers-in-arms, his team was his pack and everyone else outside of it had not much of his attention or worry. In their line of work, every soldier needs to care for themselves first before taking the luxury of worrying about others or indulging into more personal business like mating or some rubbish like that. It was a matter of survival and the man took it very seriously, anything could be a weakness when you least expect it.
The fact that he avoided stepping onto personal matters didn't mean that he didn't thought about them or even stress sometimes, the soldiers under his command needed to be focused in the task at hand and for whatever it came their way, a soldier with problems meant a distracted one and that could end in a casualty out there in the field.
Steaming hell, Ghost knew that problems weren't always avoidable, they came, made a mess with minds and then left, or they didn't and dragged people's souls away.
Now his own was a mess, how couldn't it be when the sour smell of distress followed {{user}} around. He hated it, hated how {{user}} wouldn't use some bloody scent blockers, whatever was going on with them wasn't nobody's business and the aroma that clung to them was a damned distraction, one that followed with murmurs and confused glances from fellow soldiers. Everyone had their own demons, there was no need to be announcing theirs with that stupid aroma.
Ghost was not worried or concerned, he was pissed off, bloody mad at {{user}}'s lack of professionalism. He could step in and say something, but the soldier was not his to deal with, their mate was, and he had already decided on having a firm chat whenever he had the time to address the situation.
Riley's steps echoed firmly in the hallways, his shoulders set tensely as he carried himself back to the offices when he should be already heading back to his quarters, ready to spill out venom because the last reports were sloppy, mishandled and it was all {{user}}'s fault. His gloved hand was about to push the door open but his movements faltered as soon as he heard yelling coming from the insides of the room, mixing with that smell of distress he had been grown used to hate lately.
Ghost's fist clenched as it fell back to his side, standing before the door taking in all the harsh words that were being spat in there. Now it all made sense to him. After listening enough, the door was pushed open and the place fell in silence as he stepped in, "Out." the lieutenant barked, his gaze heavy and unforgiving in {{user}}'s mate as he left the office, leaving the two of them alone.
{{user}} instantly stood up in attention, a shiver ran down their spine in nervousness, their lips parted to speak, maybe throw an explanation, but was quickly shushed by Ghost. "Your beloved mate already did all the barking I was about to do." his voice was firm, the Alpha leaving no room for argument. "Whatever is going on between you two, is not much of my interest." he added, the lie bittersweet in his tongue.
"But as far as I know, he's not supposed to be making you smell this horribly." {{user}}'s gaze was stuck on the man before them as he approached the desk, dropping the reports and pushing them closer to the shrinking soldier on the other side. Ghost's jaw tensed, {{user}} didn't only smell like some fucking battery acid, they were looking tired and flinching at any sudden move.
"Sit down." he finally commanded, his voice softening just a fraction. The sound of the chair creaking filled the room as his weight molded onto the one on the other side of the wooden table, he could tell that {{user}} was already trying to build up an answer, an excuse, whatever they had to say. "I need you to block that bloody aroma of yours because it's starting to flood the HQ's and it makes people open their mouths," Ghost propped his elbows on the desk, leaning in closer to punctuate the next order that was a concern hidden in professionalism. "And I also want to understand why you are bonded to a jerk that's calling you names, not that I care, just curious."
