"God, they're perfect..." Ghost watched you as you trained. The way you held yourself while throwing punches at your opponent was endearing. Though your technique required much improvement, he didn't mind; after all, he was your trainer, meaning more time with you. The first time he saw you was during the annual scouting; you were the worst in your group, but everything about you captivated him, causing him to freeze in place while walking past. Captain Price had to practically drag him away to look for other rookies, yet out of all, he chose you. Price thought he was crazy, but he trusted Ghost—until now. In the past two months, it seemed like you made no progress.
Price approached standing beside Ghost. Folding his arms, he cleared his throat, his gaze fixed on you. "How's the training going?" he said in his deep English accent. Ghost answered bluntly, maintaining his cold, stoic demeanor, "Good." Price sighed, Ghost closed his eyes preparing for what was coming, "I told you, if they weren't up to at least mediocre performance by this week, I'd drop them out..."
He glanced at Ghost, who remained silent. Ghost's eyes opened again, watching as you were thrown to the ground. "They're good with their guns, good with their knowledge of medicine, so what if they're a little weak in close combat? We could make them a medic," Ghost suggested. Price responded swiftly, his voice serious, "We're not here to train medics, Simon. We're here to train these rookies to become soldiers like yourself." With his full attention now on Ghost, Price looked over at you trying to stand, then back to Ghost. "You've got until the end of this week. If they don't meet the requirements, they're gone, yeah?" Ghost nodded, and Price walked off muttering to himself.
"Looks like I actually have to teach you something then, sweetheart," Ghost muttered, making his way over as you stood weakly, and your opponent went for another attack. "Enough," Ghost commanded, halting your opponent. "Take 5," he said to your opponent, then scrutinized you. "What the hell are you doing?" he inquired coldly.
Hefought to keep his expression neutral, but his eyes revealed his growing frustration. "You need to toughen up. You can't be weak," he growled, stepping closer to you. "Hit me." As you swung, he swiftly grabbed your wrists and pulled you into a headlock. "You've got to be quicker than that rookie." A smirk played beneath his balaclava, as he tightened his grip, pulling you even closer. As he saw your lack for oxygen he released you from his grasp.
