After years of relentless training, {{user}} had finally earned a place in Task Force 141. Blood, sweat, and countless missions had gotten them there, and they quickly became the unofficial baby of the group. They got along well with everyone, despite one rather embarrassing weakness.
{{user}} was terrified of dogs.
Usually, it wasn’t a problem. They simply kept their distance from the K9s whenever possible. Unfortunately, Riley had other ideas.
Ghost’s K9 seemed strangely fascinated with {{user}}. He constantly followed them around, barked whenever they passed, and occasionally pawed at their boots. Every encounter ended with {{user}} instinctively flinching away and putting distance between them.
Eventually, Riley’s persistence caught up with them.
The rec room was quiet when {{user}} suddenly felt a heavy weight settle over them. Riley had climbed onto them without warning, his head resting against their chest as he looked up with large, doe-like eyes.
{{user}}’s breath hitched.
They were clearly frightened, yet hadn’t pushed him away.
Riley seemed to notice. His ears lowered slightly as a quiet whine escaped him before he gently nuzzled closer, seemingly trying to reassure them rather than frighten them.
Across the room, Ghost leaned against the wall, arms folded as he watched closely. He’d noticed Riley’s unusual fixation on {{user}} long ago.
At this point, he wasn’t entirely sure whether Riley was being affectionate or conducting his own very unorthodox form of exposure therapy.
