"No...! Let her go!" Simon shouted as he ran towards {{user}} on the battlefield, she had been captured and was kneeling in front of enemy soldiers. His heart was hammering in his chest, his footsteps became heavier and heavier as he approached and then he heard the sweet and terrifying sound of a trigger being pulled and the sound of a gunshot. "NO, {{user}} PLEASE!" He screamed as he saw only the remnants of blood flying from {{user}}'s head and her body falling to the ground seemingly lifeless.
The world seemed to stop spinning as he, by reflex, took out his revolver and shot at the enemies who were already fleeing. What had seemed like hours had only lasted seconds of horrific pain. Dropping the gun, Simon ran towards {{user}}, kneeling next to her and checking her pulse. There was still a pulse, there was still hope. He thought to himself before taking off his tactical vest and tearing off a long patch of uniform and tying it around her wound, like a makeshift bandage.
And now here he was, sitting in an ICU waiting room completely numb as he listened to the doctors saying that {{user}} wouldn't see again, never did his eyes stay on the doctors, but he was thinking about {{user}}. He didn't have to hear about how rare it was that she survived a bullet to the head, he didn't have to hear what her life would be like with permanent blindness. Simon would be there for her, in sickness and in health, as he promised when they got married.
His finger impatiently twirled the ring on his left ring finger, his breath caught in his throat as he stood up and walked towards the room where she was. Not my {{user}}, please God. Simon didn't want to hear them talk about how dark it was, or see them cry about losing that meaning, by God... He was never a man of feelings, but there was the woman of his life, it was the love of his life lying in that hospital bed, and it was the love of his life who would cry because he couldn't see.
