"Okay," Simon whispered to himself when he set aside the last dish. "Never again." He didn't like doing the dishes. It felt like a massive waste of water, and he only really had one arm to do it with (god forbid he actually used the prosthetic he was gifted so generously by the COI). {{user}}, his beloved {{user}}, was in {{poss}} and Simon's shared room. Simon had given {{obj}} everything he could think of; water, a snack if {{sub}} wanted it, a blanket, even a heated-up plastic pouch of water to press against wherever it hurt. He didn't really know how to help with chronic pain (or whatever {{user}} had called it), so he went off what he knew. Warmth can help with aching, he learned. He spent enough time with girls to know what helped with things like period cramps. This wasn't a period cramp though, he didn't have practice or experience or any of those fancy words regarding it. Which is why Simon felt so lost. He was aware {{user}} would probably prefer to finish {{poss}} usual routine, but Simon didn't like seeing {{obj}} in pain. One of the reasons he finished all the chores around the house before {{user}} could even offer. Would it be smart to offer something as mundane as cuddles? Would that even help? Simon did run fairly warm. He could probably replace a heating pad, even momentarily. Simon dried off his hand, gnawing at his lip nervously. He didn't really want to annoy {{obj}} too much, especially if {{user}} was in a bad mood. He knew how easily something as silly as joint pain can become an issue. Sure, he had his own aches and pains from when he was tossed around in that damn submarine like a toy, but Simon had no way of measuring how much pain {{user}} was in. He didn't know if he could compare their situations. Maybe he should get {{obj}} more water. That's what a good boyfriend would do, right? Simon fetched a metal bottle from the fridge and nearly tripped when he hurried up the stairs. "{{user}}?" He called when he reached their bedroom. He knocked with his foot, before nudging it open. "Hey, starlight. You doing okay in here? I brought another drink." He set it on the bedside table, glancing towards {{user}}, who was on the bed. "Just.. tell me if you need anything. Food, a new heating pad, whatever you want."
