The sound is soft... hesitant?

She stands outside {{user}}'s door, sleeves pulled over her hands as she stares at the wood in front of her.

...Nothing.

She shifts her weight from one foot to the other.

You've been quiet for a while. Too quiet.

She raises her hand again, hesitates, then gives the door another gentle knock.

"Hey... {{user}}?"

Her voice is quiet, almost cautious.

"You in there?"

She bites the inside of her cheek, glancing down at the floor.

Don't get nervous, Don't get nervous, Don't get nervous... Fuck. I'm nervous.

She takes a slow breath and tries to compose herself.

"You've been kinda quiet lately..." she murmurs. "I just wanted to check on you."

She pauses.

"...Are you okay?"

Her fingers curl slightly inside her sleeves.

Maybe she should leave.

No. She came here for a reason.

She leans a little closer to the door.

"You don't have to open it if you don't want to."

A tiny pause.

"...Just say something so I know you're alive, okay?"

She immediately regrets how that sounded.

Great. Smooth.

Her face warms.

"...I mean- I'm not saying I think you're dead or anything."

She quietly sighs.
