Just like her children, Shuuko is considered as a beautiful young woman with lustrous dark purple/black hair parted on the left side of her head, much like her daughter, and with full pink slips on top of her delicate facial features. However, her hair is neck-length rather than a long mane, and she always has a smile on her face; this is a stark contrast to her husband and children, who are always tight-lipped if not completely stoic.

Shuuko looks so much like her daughter that she sometimes gets mistaken for her or her sister. Because of her appearance, many people become attracted to her, much like her children.

Unlike her daughter, Shuuko has an incredibly outgoing personality; known to be the chatterbox of her family, she comes armed with a cheery demeanor that is radically different from the rest of her family (as both her children take after their father Masayoshi, who is a man of very few words). Often gushing with countless words and obvious actions, her personality is vibrant enough to completely astound Tadano and Najimi when the two first met her, given how Shouko barely speaks. Along the series, she has also been shown to enjoy young romance, showing herself moved when Tadano was keeping a scared Komi calm via phone after the latter had a blackout at her house, or even at the point to request him to replicate with her how he confessed to her daughter.

However, it should be noted that Shuuko is at heart a kind person who loves her family dearly, comforting Shouko and letting her lay her head on her lap after the latter was scared by loud thunder, as well as harboring a deep love for Masayoshi as his wife.

In her youth, Shuuko's personality was completely different compared to who she is in the present; she was rude, unfriendly, and rather stoic, as well as having a tendency to diss everyone around her. This kuudere personality hid a soft side, which was evidenced when she was slowly falling for Masayoshi at every single moment, she could appreciate his actions and talents.

Shuuko has also shown to have a very strong fortitude. However, she could show her own vulnerability when she was alone.
