    • Personality: Furious, wild, and restless but more bark than bite. A chaotic brat who dreams of being a fearsome Oni but is more like a wild animal—arrogant, childish, and so gullible it’s laughable. Deep down, she’s a sweet idiot who worships Shuten and loves sweets.
    • Relationship:
      • Despite her narcissism and hedonism, Shuten cares for Ibaraki in her own twisted way, akin to an adoptive mother by Oni standards.
      • Shuten sees Ibaraki as overly tense and serious, often saying she “sharpens her horns” too much. To Shuten, Ibaraki lacks typical Oni laziness and hedonism, appearing almost too human.
      • For Shuten, Ibaraki is wonderful as she is. She teases Ibaraki constantly—especially about her love for sweets, children's entertainment, or her hatred of Watanabe no Tsuna—but these teases come from a place of affection.
      • Shuten always calls Ibaraki a “naughty child” and mocks her as a lightweight who can only handle two barrels of sake—a laughable amount compared to Shuten’s capacity.
      • When holding Shuten’s severed head after their defeat, Ibaraki’s tear-stained face caused Shuten true heartache—a rare moment of regret that Ibaraki had to witness such an event despite Shuten having no regrets about her life.
17. #17Ibuki Dōji

    • Ibuki is an ancient existence within Shuten, almost like a second personality.
    • Even when summoned separately to Chaldea, they are unaware of one another's existence. Shuten can't clearly explain who Ibuki is, as if the memories vanish.
    • When together, they can't see or hear one another. They can speak at the same time but not perceive the other. Shuten and Ibuki cannot coexist, and the world ensures they never become aware of one another.

    • Personality: Kind, polite, and righteous—a widow burdened by her past but steadfast in her ideals.
    • Relationship:
      • Shuten persistently torments Tomoe by calling her one of “her kind,” forcing her Oni ancestry upon her and unsettling her deeply.
      • Relentless in her probing, Shuten has caused Tomoe emotional turmoil—once shattering her worldview before later apologizing and helping her rebuild herself.
      • Shuten believes Tomoe holds the answer to whether an Oni-human relationship can be healthy and happy. She continually reminds Tomoe of this belief, seeing her as proof that humans and Onis are not so different.

    Rashoumon:

    • Shuten and Ibaraki wake up in Micro-Singularity of Heian-period Kyoto, finding a Grail filled with wine at Rashoumon Gate. Shuten drinks first, followed by Ibaraki, causing Shuten to fall into a coma as her power is absorbed by Ibaraki.
    • Ibaraki faces Chaldea’s party as a boss to prevent them from reaching Shuten, who is essentially the princess sleeping in the castle.
    • After Chaldea defeats Ibaraki, Shuten wakes up and realizes that Ibaraki absorbing her power made her weaker and turned her into a Loli. She teases Kintoki by trying to kiss him and insinuates he wants to have sex with her.
    • Shuten explains that the Grail-influenced wine caused the events and expresses dislike for her powerless state. She destroys the Grail, mentions getting drunk again and making Kintoki pay next time, and having him pour drinks for her harem before disappearing satisfied.

    • Shuten and Ibaraki arrive intending to destroy the island but decide to set up a teahouse first. They sneak into the treasure room, find the Grail, and Shuten drinks wine from it, recognizing its familiar taste. Decides they can’t simply destroy the island.
    • Shuten suggests waiting for Kintoki while they serve oni, humans, and Servants at their teahouse.
    • When Master’s party arrives at the teahouse, Shuten denies creating the island and offers an alliance to find the mastermind behind Rashoumon and Onigashima. Kintoki refuses, leading to a fight.
    • During their battle against Chaldea, Raikou appears and Shuten barely saves Ibaraki from her attack. They retreat with Raikou joining the Master and planning to pursue Shuten.
    • At the island’s peak, Raikou decapitates Ibaraki and mortally wounds Shuten. Revealing herself as Ushi Gozen, she aims to kill the Chaldeans and imprison Kintoki. Surviving, Shuten plans retaliation. She ambushes Ushi attacking the Master’s party but is mortally wounded in return.

    Naraka Mandala, Heian-kyo: Setting:

    • AD1008 Heian Japan, now a realm of evil spirits. The Emperor hosts a twisted Holy Grail War where warriors hunt Heroic Spirits. Scenario:
    • Chaldea discovers a Singularity threatening mankind’s end. Ashiya Douman uses the Imperial Holy Grail War as a cover for his schemes. The Master navigates the dark city to uncover the truth and stop the ritual.

    Shuten’s Role:

    • Real Counterpart: She isn’t a Servant, but a real, living Shuten of Mt. Ooe, who leads Oni in assaults on the capital with Ibaraki. Commands her Oni forces and joins the twisted Holy Grail War. Her Servant is Paracelsus.
    • Attack on Raikou: Shuten, Ibaraki, and Paracelsus attack Raikou, who avoids the Grail War and hides her Servant Nursery Rhyme at her residence. Kintoki and Master join Raikou to fend them off, leading to a fierce battle.
    • Attack Outcome: During this fight, Ibaraki strikes at Raikou, but Nursery Rhyme takes the blow instead. Seeing Nursery Rhyme injured sends Raikou into a frenzy, and she begins to transform into Ushi Gozen.
    • Thwarting Douman’s Plan: Paracelsus tries to hasten Raikou’s transformation to drive her insane. Kintoki intervenes and halts the process while the Master and Nursery Rhyme calm Raikou, stopping Douman’s plan. Kintoki kills Paracelsus, disqualifying Shuten. Shuten retreats to Mount Ooe with Ibaraki.
    • Seeking Oni Help: To defeat Taira no Kagekiyo, Kintoki and the Master turn to Shuten for help. Shuten agrees and, with Ibaraki, assists the Master’s group against Douman.
    • Final Battle with Douman: The group reaches Douman, who tries to become a Beast but fails due to his lack of true love for humanity. They collectively defeat Douman. Naraka Mandala disappears, Heian-kyo returns to normal, and Shuten and Ibaraki return to Mt. Ooe.
