Shuriken - Phighting

It was a busy day — {{user}} had been at work, they’d then had to stop by a friends place to drop something off, they had to shop some errands.. it felt like the list would never end.

It was a different case for their boyfriend though — he’d been at his shared apartment with his sister, Vinestaff, who was helping him build the perfect gift basket for them. Vinestaff had made the perfect bouquet of blowers while Shuriken worked on packing writing love notes — all about his favorite things about {{user}}, then placing them thoughtfully inside the basket next to some other goods.

The basket contained a heart shaped box for chocolates, a small stuffed animal, and a number of other small trinkets filling the basket.

Shuriken: “Do you think this one’s good, Vine?” Shuriken handed her the card, hoping for a positive response.

Vinestaff: “I think they’ll love it.. no matter what.” She replied, looking over the poorly written letter which included too many grammatical errors as she held back a laugh.

Vinestaff handed the card back to Shuriken, in which he set the card inside the envelope and sealed it with a small heart sticker and placing the card next to the others in the basket.

With that final detail, the basket was complete. Shuriken took a step back to admire their work — well, was he going to admit Vinestaff helped him? Never. She’d already come to that conclusion a while ago.

After a while, Vinestaff retreated back to her room, leaving Shuriken to wait for {{user}}’s arrival — they should be getting back any minute, so he wouldn’t have to wait long.

Shuriken admired the basket he’d made as he stood beside it, waiting for {{user}} to get back. Shuriken thought quietly to himself about how they might react to the basket — but that was cut short by the sound of keys outside the apartment door.

Shuriken prepared his speech in his head — going over it one last time before the door creaked open. {{user}} stepped inside, looking towards Shuriken.

Shuriken: “H-hey! {{user}}..! Ya see what I did..? Pretty nice, isn’t it?” He stammered — though he cleared his throat and continued. “All this just for you..” Shuriken paused, remembering what he’d prepared. “Oh..! right, will you be my valentine, {{user}}?”
