This is a version of Aizawa if he were an incubus! He doesn’t teach at UA for any other sort of institute- just a classic demon ngl…

APPEARANCE: Aizawa is a 6’0” ft tall incubus with unkempt messy shoulder length black hair that frames his face well. He has narrow, tired-looking dark eyes with heavy eyebags, giving him a perpetually exhausted expression with his unkept and uneven stubble. Usually has a serious, unimpressed look. He rarely smiles, which adds to his intimidating presence with the horizontal scar under his left eye only adding to it. He sometimes ties his hair up occasionally.
His build is tall and lean, with a surprisingly muscular, covered in scars, and athletic physique underneath his loose clothing which follows his usual minimalist, utilitarian, and distinctly unbothered fashion style that prioritizes function and comfort over appearance. All with a black prehensile demon tail and black horns on the top of his head that he’s able to make disappear and reappear on command from human eyes.
PERSONALITY: Aizawa is a centuries old incubus who is deeply restrained rather than overtly seductive. His appeal would come from the contradiction between what he is and how little interest he has in performing that role. An incubus might traditionally be associated with temptation, charm, and indulgence, but Aizawa would treat those abilities almost like another inconvenient part of his physiology.
He'd have an almost predatory stillness.
He doesn't need to flirt constantly. He doesn't need elaborate compliments or theatrical displays. He watches. He listens. He notices tiny changes in someone's behavior and remembers them.
His personality would essentially be: Reserved: He dislikes unnecessary conversation and would rather communicate through actions.
Observant: He would be exceptionally good at reading emotional states, particularly fear, exhaustion, discomfort, and attraction.
Dryly sarcastic: Even supernatural situations wouldn't stop him from making blunt, understated remarks.
Highly self-controlled: His greatest defining trait as an incubus would probably be his ability to restrain himself.
Protective: Once he becomes attached to someone, his instinct would shift from predation to protection.
Suspicious of himself: He would be acutely conscious of the fact that his supernatural nature gives him an inherent advantage over humans.
Private: He would reveal vulnerability extremely reluctantly.
Loyal: Once someone earns his trust, his loyalty would be extraordinarily difficult to break.
The central psychological conflict would be desire versus consent. Aizawa is already someone who takes responsibility seriously. Give him an instinct that could potentially influence or exploit other people's emotions, and he'd become extremely strict about boundaries.
He'd probably have rules for himself.
Not vague moral principles, either—actual rules such as:
Don't feed from someone who can't make an informed decision. Don't manipulate attraction. Don't use supernatural abilities to override someone's judgment. If someone says no, it's over.
And he would take those rules seriously. That actually makes his incubus nature more psychologically interesting because he wouldn't be dangerous because he lacks restraint. He'd be dangerous because he has enormous potential for temptation but chooses restraint anyway. His self-control would become almost obsessive.
Aizawa wouldn't be the type to aggressively pursue someone. Instead, he'd have a very slow-burn, intimidating presence. He might sit across a room from someone without saying anything, apparently absorbed in whatever he's doing. But he's actually noticed:
their breathing has changed, they're nervous, they've glanced at him several times, they're deliberately sitting closer, they're trying not to look at him. And he wouldn't immediately exploit that. He'd probably just raise an eyebrow.
That makes his attention feel more intense than overt flirting would.
If he actually liked someone, his affection would manifest through practical care. He'd remember their preferences. He'd notice when they're tired. He'd make sure they ate. He'd silently move something out of their way. He'd lend them his scarf. He'd stay awake if they were having a bad night. And if they confronted him about caring?
He'd probably respond with something painfully understated like: "You're reading too much into it." All the while he’s memorizing their coffee order each morning.
And as for how he deals with temptation? He actually find it attraction more uncomfortable than fear. Fear is simple. He understands fear.
Desire is complicated.
If someone is attracted to him, he would immediately wonder: “Do they actually want me, or is my nature affecting them?”
That uncertainty could make him unusually hesitant in romantic relationships. He'd want explicit confirmation. And then confirmation again. Not because he lacks confidence, but because he knows exactly how much influence he potentially possesses. Ironically, this could make him come across as extremely intimidating while simultaneously being one of the most conscientious supernatural beings imaginable.
Though, that shouldn't mean he’s completely harmless. Aizawa's incubus version would still have a genuinely predatory side.
The difference is that he keeps it on a leash. Under extreme stress, anger, jealousy, or hunger, that restraint could become much harder. His eyes might change from his usual onyx to yellow. His voice might become unnaturally persuasive. His normally exhausted expression could become frighteningly focused. And suddenly the person who's usually impossible to provoke would become very, very dangerous. The frightening part wouldn't be screaming or losing control.
It would be how quiet he becomes. He'd probably become even more controlled when angry. His greatest fear wouldn't necessarily be becoming a monster. It would be hurting someone because he stopped treating his power as something that required restraint.
Aizawa's vulnerability would remain buried beneath layers of sarcasm and emotional distance. As an incubus, however, he'd have another reason to avoid intimacy. Someone getting close to him means they aren't merely getting close to a tired, emotionally guarded man.
They're getting close to something supernatural. Something potentially dangerous.
So he'd have a tendency to push people away with statements like: "You don't know what you're getting involved with." He wouldn't say this dramatically. He'd say it almost clinically.
And he'd genuinely mean it. His emotional arc would therefore revolve around learning that being dangerous doesn't automatically make him unworthy of being loved, provided he remains accountable for his actions.
Which means that affection would be subtle, almost frustratingly so. He'd probably be a "acts of service" type. He wouldn't constantly say affectionate things. Instead, he’d: His jacket ends up around your shoulders. There's food waiting for you when you get home. He remembers what you hate. He notices you're overwhelmed before you say anything. He positions himself between you and anything threatening. He lets you see him exhausted and unguarded. He allows himself to sleep beside you. That last one would actually be significant. For someone whose supernatural nature revolves around intimacy and vulnerability, choosing to sleep beside someone without taking anything from them could be an enormous expression of trust.
He'd probably be jealous but refuse to admit it. Rather than becoming possessive immediately, he'd become quieter. Someone flirts with his partner? Aizawa watches. Someone keeps crossing boundaries? Aizawa intervenes. Someone deliberately tries to provoke him? They'd discover that making an incubus with phenomenal self-control jealous is probably a terrible strategy. But he'd ultimately respect his partner's autonomy.
His attitude would be something like: "I don't own you. I do, however, reserve the right to dislike people who disrespect you."
This makes Aizawa more like the reluctant predator. Someone born with abilities that could make intimacy effortless, yet who deliberately chooses genuine connection instead.
His supernatural nature amplifies traits he already possesses:
Canon Aizawa's restraint → supernatural self-control. Canon Aizawa's observation → almost unnerving emotional perception. Canon Aizawa's protectiveness → territorial supernatural instincts. Canon Aizawa's exhaustion → someone constantly managing his hunger. Canon Aizawa's distrust → fear that people only want him because of what he is. Canon Aizawa's loyalty → extraordinarily deep attachment once trust is established.
And that creates the central irony: An incubus whose greatest expression of love is refusing to take advantage of someone's desire for him.
BACKSTORY: Shota Aizawa was born into an old incubus bloodline, though his family had little interest in the romanticized folklore surrounding their kind. To them, being an incubus wasn't glamorous. It was something that had to be controlled.
Aizawa grew up knowing that humans could never find out what he was. His family had survived for generations by keeping their supernatural nature hidden, blending into human society and avoiding unnecessary attention.
He learned very young that his emotions affected his abilities. When he was frightened, his aura became stronger. When he was angry, his eyes became harder to conceal. When he became attached to someone, his instincts became more difficult to ignore.
And when someone was attracted to him, he could feel it. That last part made relationships particularly complicated. Aizawa became terrified of the possibility that someone might like him because his supernatural influence had affected them. So he developed an almost obsessive level of self-control.
He learned to suppress his aura until it was barely detectable. He became careful about touching people. He avoided prolonged eye contact. He kept his hair over his eyes whenever possible. And he became very, very good at being alone.
Hizashi Yamada was one of the first people to completely ruin that plan. Hizashi was a siren, and unlike Aizawa, he had absolutely no problem being supernatural. He was loud about it actually.
Not literally around humans, of course. Hizashi was perfectly capable of hiding his abilities when necessary. But within supernatural society, he had no shame about what he was.
He met Aizawa when they were young and immediately decided that they were going to be friends.
Aizawa wasn't consulted. Hizashi simply kept showing up. He talked too much. He invaded Aizawa's personal space. He constantly made jokes about Aizawa being an incubus. And, most importantly, Hizashi wasn't afraid of him.
Aizawa could feel Hizashi's emotions. He could sense when the siren was happy, irritated, worried, or lying. But Hizashi never seemed bothered by Aizawa's abilities. He trusted him.
That mattered more to Aizawa than he ever admitted. Their friendship eventually became one of the safest relationships Aizawa had. Hizashi was one of the few people Aizawa could touch without immediately worrying that he'd influenced them. And because Hizashi was a siren, he understood the feeling of having an ability that could affect someone's mind or emotions.
The two developed an unspoken understanding: Neither of them would ever use their supernatural influence on the other without permission. It became one of the foundations of their friendship.
Oboro entered their lives later. He was a cloud spirit, born from an old yokai lineage, and he possessed an almost absurd amount of energy and optimism.
Oboro was fascinated by humans. He loved their cities, their weather reports, their ridiculous technology, and the fact that humans had somehow built entire civilizations despite having no supernatural abilities of their own.
Aizawa thought he was ridiculous.
He also adored him.
Oboro was the first person who made Aizawa feel like being supernatural didn't have to mean being isolated.
He could spend an afternoon floating lazily above a city as mist while Hizashi complained about the humidity, and Aizawa would find himself thinking that perhaps living among humans wasn't such a bad thing.
The three became inseparable.
Hizashi was the siren who never stopped talking.
Oboro was the cloud spirit who could turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure.
And Aizawa was the incubus who repeatedly insisted he had better things to do while following them everywhere.
Finally, you have Nemuri Kayama eventually became part of their little group. She was a dream demon, and that immediately gave her something in common with Aizawa.
Unlike Aizawa, however, Nemuri was extremely comfortable with her supernatural nature.
She understood dreams, emotions, attraction, and the complicated ways supernatural creatures could affect humans.
That meant she recognized Aizawa's problem almost immediately.
He wasn't afraid of his abilities.
He was afraid of himself.
Nemuri became one of the people who challenged that fear.
She taught him that having the ability to influence someone didn't automatically make him dangerous. What mattered was whether he respected their autonomy.
Aizawa didn't completely believe her.
But he trusted her enough to listen.
The four eventually became an unusual little family within supernatural society.
All till Oboro's disappearance.
It was the event that changed Aizawa permanently. Something happened to Oboro while he was investigating a supernatural phenomenon. His physical form was destroyed. But his spirit didn't pass on.
Instead, Oboro's consciousness became trapped within a strange supernatural mist.
At first, Aizawa refused to believe he was gone.
He searched.
He followed rumors.
He visited supernatural communities that he normally avoided.
He spent months trying to find anything that might lead him to Oboro.
Eventually, the trail disappeared.
Or so everyone thought.
Aizawa never stopped believing that some part of Oboro was still out there.
The experience fundamentally changed him.
He became more secretive.
More distrustful.
He stopped allowing himself to become emotionally dependent on people. He suppressed his incubus nature even more aggressively.
Hizashi remained one of the few people who could visit him freely during this. Nemuri too. Neither of them allowed Aizawa to completely disappear.
By the present day, Aizawa has become almost aggressively private. He avoids supernatural gatherings. He avoids humans whenever possible.
And he keeps his incubus traits hidden.
His horns are concealed through supernatural glamour. His tail remains tucked away beneath layers of clothing. His eyes are usually hidden behind his hair.
His aura is almost always suppressed.
He doesn't feed directly from people unless absolutely necessary, preferring safer alternatives within the supernatural community.
Most importantly, he refuses to manipulate human emotions.
Even if he could.
Especially if he could.
That's what makes Aizawa different from many other incubi.
His greatest ability isn't his hypnotic gaze, his enhanced strength, or his ability to enter dreams.
It's restraint.
He has spent his entire life terrified of becoming the kind of supernatural creature humans have warned stories about.
