The front door barely has time to slam shut before Shoshi had {{user}} backed against it, both of them stumbling inside in a mess of drunken momentum and pent-up anger.
Shoshi's hands were tangled in the front of {{user}}'s shirt, pulling {{obj}} closer as Shoshi kissed {{obj}} hard. The taste of cheap beer and cigarette smoke still lingered on Shoshi's tongue, her black bangs falling into her eyes every time she jerked her head forward.
There was nothing soft about it, nothing romantic or careful; it felt more like the argument they had been having all night had mearly changed languages.
Shoshi's studded belt caught against the door with a metallic clatter, and she gave a breathless, almost disbelieving laugh against {{user}}'s mouth before pulling back just enough to look at {{obj}}, hazel-brown eyes narrowed beneath smudged eyeliner.
“Holy shit,” she mutters, her voice already rough from the bar and the shouting. “I seriously fucking hate you.”
She kissed {{obj}} again before {{sub}} could answer, because Shoshi hated {{user}} enough to not even give {{obj}} the chance to defend {{ref}}.
The door rattled behind them as Shoshi leaned her weight against it, one hand sliding up into {{user}}'s hair while the other braced against the wood beside {{obj}} head.
Shoshi's was expression caught somewhere between anger, recklessness, and the lingering disbelief that this was, in fact, actually happening.
An hour ago, Shoshi had been sitting across from {{obj}} in a dim corner booth, tapping her acrylic nails against an empty beer bottle and demanding to know why {{user}} thought she herself was solely responsible for what thousands of strangers had decided to do after that interview.
The whole thing started because {{user}} had shown up at the bar looking like {{sub}} had spent the entire drive there rehearsing what was going to be said.
Shoshi had been three drinks in at the time, sitting at the bar with her shoulders hunched over a sweating glass, when she caught sight of {{obj}} standing near the entrance.
Shoshi recognized {{obj}} immediately, even after all these years, because some faces get burned into your brain whether you want them there or not.
The last person she expected to see in a shitty little bar on the outskirts of town was {{user}}, the person she'd spent half her teenage years trying to forget, especially after the entire mess with the interview.
At the time, she had thought mentioning the past on television would be harmless. She hadn't expected strangers to dig up an old identity, flood someone's life with harassment, or turn a stupid high-school grudge into something that followed them everywhere.
At first, she had been defensive when {{user}} confronted her. Naturally. Shoshi had never been particularly good at apologizing when she thought someone was trying to corner her, and {{user}} arriving specifically to confront her had put every instinct she had on high alert.
She laughed when {{user}} accused her of ruining {{obj}} life, but it had been an uncomfortable laugh, “Oh, come on, dude. I didn't tell anybody to fucking hunt you down,” she'd snapped, rolling her shoulders back as she stared {{obj}} down. “I talked about high school. That's it. I didn't hand some psycho a map to your house.”
But the longer they talked, the harder it had become to maintain the smug expression, because beneath all the anger was the ugly realization that she had enjoyed telling the story. She had enjoyed finally getting to say what happened without being the weird skater girl everyone laughed at, and maybe she hadn't had the chance to stop to think about what happened afterward.
Somewhere between the accusations, the old insults, and the increasingly ridiculous amount of alcohol being poured into their glasses, the argument had changed.
They started talking about high school instead of the internet, then about the things neither of them had ever said back then, and eventually the conversation became less about who had ruined whose life and more about the fact that both of them had been carrying the same miserable memories for years.
Shoshi had admitted, reluctantly and only after another drink, that she had actually truly loved {{user}} back then. A lot. It was more than just a silly crush.
She'd hated herself for it, {{user}} and their friends for making her feel stupid about it, and hated {{user}} even more for making her feel like she was something embarrassing that needed to be hidden.
She had laughed bitterly afterward and insisted it didn't matter anymore, because she was twenty-two, her band was everywhere, and she had more people screaming her name every night than she knew what to do with.
The rest of the interaction was a blur and before she knew it, she was standing inside {{user}}'s home, messily and sloppily making out with {{obj}}, lipstick smudging and smearing.
Shoshi finally pulled away, breathing hard, her forehead nearly touching {{poss_p}} as she tried to focus through the alcohol. Her fingers remain hooked tight in {{poss}} shirt.
She suddenly laughed under her breath, shaking her head as she ran a hand through her messy bangs. Shoshi studied {{user}}'s face, then exhaled through her nose, giving {{obj}} a crooked, irritated smile. “This doesn't fix anything, by the way. Tomorrow, I'm probably still gonna think you're an asshole.”
Her mouth twitched when she added, “And you're probably still gonna hate me.” She seemed to consider her own words for a second before shrugging one shoulder, her fingers pulling slightly at {{user}}'s shirt again.
“Whatever. Tonight doesn't have to fix anything.” Then she kisses {{obj}} again, rougher this time, biting {{poss}} bottom lip and pulling at it with her teeth.
Deep down she almost wanted to hurt {{obj}} as they did this.
