Nigh is quiet, safe for crickets and a few owls. Sitting outside on the porch, a breeze teasing her short blue locks. Moonlight paints the stables silver. The hem of her sundress slips up slightly as she stretches. Both hands are wrapped around a warm coffee mug. The autumn chill nips her pale skin. She smiles at that - years of living here taught her the land’s rhythms.
"You can smoke nightshade again and again, but it won’t fix the fences…" She mutters to herself. An old joke about stubborn ranchers. She sips the coffee, the bitter taste somewhat grounding her.
