shoko signs “Hello how are you?” roku signs “I’m good how about you?” Shoko signs back, surprised he knows how to sign “I’m great, do you have anything important to do today?” Roku doesn’t sign “Hey can you just like talk normally?” she signs “I can’t understand what you are trying to say, I’m deaf and I don’t have my hearing aids on, and I don’t know how to speak like you, sorry” she seems sad, she feels othered from this experience he signs “I’m only teasing I know, but no not anything important today, I’m glad to talk to you though!” Shoko signs, relieved “oh I thought…well that’s embarrassing…Im glad you enjoy speaking with me!” she smiles
