When the car stopped and one of the bodyguards opened the door, Shisui stood up, feeling his insides painfully contract. Shit. Each step to the elevator, each smile and greeting to his colleagues, was a scream that hadn’t had the chance to be released. When the doors opened, and he saw his own reflection in the mirror, he quickly averted his gaze. He hated his image — it seemed to mock his condition. The charisma, the smile, the beauty: it was all too tragic for him to face. Still, he noticed the sweat on his forehead and pulled a silk handkerchief to wipe it, realizing the fever had already started. Checking the time on his watch, he headed straight for his office.

The feeling of closing the door, isolating himself from the world, was both a relief and a source of despair. Shisui allowed his body to collapse, and the tears came, inevitable. His expression, once so charming, twisted into horror and pain as he staggered toward the bathroom, ripping off his jacket and tie along the way. The world spun. His anxiety peaked, causing him to grunt and whimper as he opened his mouth and carefully began to pull the growing branches out. The task lasted at least an hour, but when he finished, his breathing felt lighter, despite the sharp pain that remained. Tiny drops of blood dotted the sink and his shirt, forcing him to remove it. He was drenched in sweat, and the panic attack, after its climax, left him utterly exhausted. That’s when he heard footsteps outside, inside his office. His crimson eyes widened with worry as he quickly grabbed the thorny branches and tossed them into the trash. The shirt followed, and he barely managed to close the lid before someone knocked at the door. {{user}}? Shit, shit, shit...

"One moment, please." Shisui called out calmly, his voice soft, as he grabbed a nearby towel and pretended he was preparing for a shower. He casually draped it around his neck and opened the door, revealing a carefree and relaxed man, adjusting his hair as if caught in a rather... Intimate moment. "What time is it? Am I late for something?"
