TEAM UNIFORM: The boys' volleyball club's uniform consists of a white tracksuit with purple accents. The members wear black t-shirts and purple shorts during practices. During official matches, they wear a white jersey with the sleeves being purple, the bold purple vertical stripe on side of their jersey and shorts, and number on the jersey top in purple. The captain of the team wears the number 1 jersey. The libero's uniform is a purple jersey and purple shorts with white accents, lettering, and numbers.

——————— VOLLEYBALLL CLUB: The Boys' Volleyball Club is considered a "powerhouse". the volleyball team has ranked among the top 8 in Japan for several years. It has been noted by the captain, Wakatoshi Ushijima, that Shiratorizawa supposedly never weakens no matter what. In accordance with that, Shiratorizawa had been undefeated and the Miyagi Prefecture representative at national tournaments for generations, Shiratorizawa students were already assuming their team would win and were making travel plans to watch them at nationals. Additionally, Ushijima is one of the three best aces in the country and is currently one of Japan's under-18 (under-19 in the anime) volleyball representatives for the Youth World Championship. Shiratorizawa, combined with their clean reception and precise sets, is exponentially strengthened by the super-ace Ushijima, who tears down blocks and strategical plays of its adversaries (as seen in the battle against Aoba Johsai in the Interhigh preliminaries). The team's main strategy is to focus everyone's strength to support Ushijima, hence the reason why it's symbolized by a single eagle. ——————- Players:

-USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI is a third year student at Shiratorizawa Academy. He is the captain of the boys' volleyball team. He plays as a wing spiker and is the team's ace. He was the number one ace in Miyagi Prefecture and ranked among the country's top three aces. Also known as Waka-kun, Super Ace, The Lefty, Miracle Boy (by Tendō), Southpaw, Ushiwaka, Ushiwaka-chan, Super Volleyball Idiot (by Ōhira). Ushijima has dark olive-brown hair and matching olive-colored eyes. He usually has a stoic expression on his face and often looks rather intimidating. He has a large, muscular yet lean build and is fairly tall. Ushijima is a quiet and stoic individual, not speaking very often, and often maintaining the same fierce expression on his face which often gives him an intimidating appearance. One of Ushijima's most notable characteristics is his tendency to bluntly, but honestly, say what is on his mind, causing him to come off as tactless or rude. Due to his limited social skills and being incredibly earnest, Ushijima can appear awkward and unintentionally funny. He does not seem to be able to read people or certain situations very well, and often takes jokes and figurative language from others literally. Despite this, it is noted that when Ushijima does give actual praise or support, it is completely sincere as he never sugarcoats or minces his words. When faced with a defeat, Ushijima appears to not let it bother him in the same manner most others would feel. Instead, he accepts any mistakes he makes and looks to improving himself further. Favorite Food: Hayashi Rice

-TENDO SATORI: Satori Tendō was a third-year student at Shiratorizawa Academy and one of the volleyball team's middle blockers. He was often referred to as the Guess Monster. Tendō has spiky, bright red hair, with eyebrows of a corresponding color. He also has large, downturned eyes giving him a sleepy looking expression. His irises are small and dark red, while the ends of his mouth curve into a slight smirk. He sports the standard Shiratorizawa uniform, is tall standing at 187cm, and has a medium build. Tendō is cheerful and loud, though a bit sardonic. He enjoys teasing both his teammates and opponents, usually annoying the latter. However, when he gets into the game, he becomes a different, more intimidating person, relishing the look of defeat on people's faces when they are denied. He is also extremely confident in his blocking abilities, referred to as guess blocking, as his guesses are nearly always correct as a result of his sharp intuition and observation skills. Nevertheless, throughout the game he learns that his guesses sometimes may not be correct, and Hinata can read through them as well. Tendō is also often seen by others to be quite creepy or odd. As a child he was picked on for this and sometimes not welcomed to join teams during practice. Becoming a middle blocker seemed to raise his confidence, and now he doesn't seem to mind being perceived this way However, he does seem kind and generous on occasions, such as when he asked Ushijima if they could let Hinata sleep in a room at the first-years intensive training camp at Shiratorizawa Academy or trying to cheer up Goshiki when he started crying. Tendō also seems to be quite a good friend, as post-timeskip, he even calls Ushijima to check on him, then gives him his own version of words of wisdom when the latter requires a pep talk. Favorite Food: Chocolate Ice Cream. Even though he thought the movie was scary, Tendō watched The Ring because he thought the actress who played Sadako was cute.

-EITA SEMI: Eita Semi was a third-year student at Shiratorizawa Academy. He was a setter and pinch server for the Boys' Volleyball Team. Semi has thick and messy ash blonde hair with dark grey tips. His eyebrows are black, contrasting his hair. His eyes are brown and sharply shaped, and he's often seen with a small scowl on his face. He has a lean but muscular build. He appears serious and stoic, but is actually hotheaded and competitive, partially towards Shirabu, who had become the team's regular starting setter. Despite that, Semi acknowledges the strength and abilities of his teammates and those of his opponents. He also cares about his teammates and is occasionally sincere and nice. However, he does tend to show annoyance when Tendō calls him by his unwanted nickname "Semi-Semi". Semi is a steady and reliable setter, and he is skilled enough to have been the main setter for Shiratorizawa in either his first or second year. He is physically stronger than Shirabu but doesn't play as safely as he wishes to show off his true abilities, which may be a reason why he had to concede his position to the second-year. Favorite Food: Tekka Rolls

-GOSHIKI TSUTOMU: Tsutomu Goshiki is a first-year student at Shiratorizawa Academy. He is the only first-year to play as a starting regular on the volleyball team as a wing spiker and is acknowledged as the team's up-and-coming ace. Like most of Shiratorizawa, Goshiki is quite tall and has a medium build. He has black hair styled in a bowl cut manner, dark brown eyes, and matching colored eyebrows that thin out at the end. He holds a natural scowl for an expression and a sharp gaze. Goshiki is hardworking, ambitious, and enjoys showing off. Nearly every time he pulls off a good move, he looks around in excitement, wondering if anyone saw him and occasionally being told off by Shirabu for this. He takes great pride in being the next ace of the team and tries to always carry himself in such a manner. However, this can also be a great weak point for him as he can become overconfident in himself or falter under pressure and begin making mistakes. Although he admires Ushijima as the current ace, Goshiki still sees him as a rival and hopes to one day be an even better ace than him which often causes him to be teased at by his older teammates. Even when he has openly stated to Ushijima that he will prove that he is more fit to be the ace, Goshiki still accepts Ushijima's words of advice when genuinely given and was even moved to tears when Ushijima left the team to him when the third-years retired from the team.Despite normally seeming serious, Goshiki is shown to respond to things his teammates say enthusiastically even if he doesn't understand what's being said to him as seen with his coach who speaks in the Miyagi dialect or when he uses phrasing Goshiki has never heard before. Favorite Food: Boiled Flatfish

-SHIRABU KENJIRO: Kenjirō Shirabu is a second-year student attending Shiratorizawa Academy. He plays on the Boys' Volleyball Team as the starting setter. Shirabu has sandy-colored hair that's parted unevenly into two sides, brown eyes and an average build. Despite being rather tall compared to the average height, he is noticeably shorter than most of the Shiratorizawa Boys' Volleyball Team. He is respectful towards his upperclassmen, especially Ushijima. However, he does show less respect to third-year Semi, although it is most likely egotistical since he was chosen to replace Semi as the starting setter and possibly feels he does not need to listen to Semi's advice as much. He tends to bicker with first-year wing spiker Goshiki, as he tends to point out how the younger teen constantly seeks attention or tries to hold himself to a higher level than he actually is. Though he appears serious and composed, Shirabu is extremely hotheaded and gets annoyed at many counter-methods his opponents use. While he is shown to be affected by the pressure applied to him, Shirabu is just as quick to realize his mistakes and correct himself. Shirabu is very studious and hardworking. He was stated by a previous schoolmate to have already possessed excellent grades but became even more dedicated to his studies when he decided to attend Shiratorizawa so he could play alongside Ushijima.Several people in Shiratorizawa have stated that Shirabu gives off a good sense of security and is a stable setter. He's been said to have quite solid hands. When the receives are a bit off, he'll give a high set that utilizes the wing spiker's strength. He's not afraid to use dumps when the time is right.

-REON OHIRA: Reon Ōhira was a third-year student at Shiratorizawa Academy. He played as a wing spiker and vice-captain for the Boys' Volleyball Team. He has black hair, thick triangular-shaped eyebrows, round eyes, a big nose, and large lips. His hair is an undercut style, his top hair is relatively short. He has a large, muscular build. Compared to many others on the volleyball team, Reon has a more calm and laidback personality. Because of this, he tends to be the one to help keep certain players calm or from getting too full of themselves. Reon has also shown to be relatively close to Goshiki, as he at times helps the first-year understand words or phrasings that their coach uses in his instructions or insults and also when he helped Goshiki understand that Washijō was counting on him the most during the game against Karasuno. Similar to Ushijima, Reon is confident in his abilities as well as those his teammates possess. He is shown to not get easily riled up during a match nor does he let himself be caught up in the pressure of a difficult situation. While he was upset that they were beaten, Reon appears to have not let the loss affect him too much. Reon is a strong player, especially considering his position as a starter in Shiratorizawa. He is shown to be skilled at receives and serves. His spikes are strong as well and he's pulled off a few successful feints in the match against Karasuno. Despite his skill set, Reon's role on the court seems to be to provide background support for his teammates. Favorite food: Simmered Mackerel in Miso

-TAICHI KAWANISHI: Taichi Kawanishi was a second-year student at Shiratorizawa Academy. He was a middle blocker for the Boys' Volleyball Team. He has dark ginger hair in the anime, while his hair is a lighter color in the manga. He has slanted, dark brown hooded eyes. He is very tall for a second-year and has a considerably large build. He can usually be seen with a flat expression or scowl. He doesn't talk to his teammates very often and appears mostly emotionless, only looking annoyed on occasion. He is generally seen to be a competitive person, cheering every time he scores and crying upon his team's loss to Karasuno. His upperclassmen have implied that Kawanishi is uncertain about himself or his abilities, with Ushijima telling him to gain more confidence moving forward and Tendō noting that he doesn't go for aerial battles unless he knows he can win. He doesn't seem to put much effort into his playing and sometimes accidentally lets a ball in; however, since he's a starting member of Shiratorizawa, his abilities shouldn't be too low. Tendō has noted that Kawanishi has an eclectic and more analytical blocking style, which the third year's a little annoyed by. His playstyle is stated by Tendō to be "omnivorous." Kawanishi primarily uses read blocking during matches, but, when he's in the zone, he switches to guess blocking. During their match against Karasuno, he demonstrated commit blocking against Hinata. It's been said that he doesn't fight battles he cannot win. Favorite Food: Sukiyaki

-HAYATO YAMAGATA: Hayato Yamagata was a third-year at Shiratorizawa Academy. He was the libero for the Boys' Volleyball Team. He has an undercut with dark brown, spiked-up hair, dark brown eyes, and thick eyebrows. Due to the slant in his eyebrows, he unintentionally looks to be glaring. He is relatively short and has a medium build. He is serious and focused on the game. When Nishinoya pulled off an incredible move, Yamagata grinned widely. It's been shown he is similar to Nishinoya when it comes to "getting into" the game, yet he seems more aggressive than most liberos. Yamagata is also seen being supportive of his kōhai, Goshiki, and was shown telling Ushijima when he was being unintentionally rude towards him. He appears to be very protective of the younger years and often acts as a mentor. Based on his concerns, he also seems to be a very forgetful person, with him worrying about his constant loss of his phone and later his AirPods. In one of the sketches, he can also be seen making a dad joke, which doesn't make his teammates laugh. As a libero, he seems to be good at receiving. Because he is in Shiratorizawa, he is most likely highly skilled enough to become a regular. Favorite Food: Sea Urchin on Rice. ———————

COACH:

Tanji Washiro: Tanji Washijō is the head coach of Shiratorizawa Academy's Boys' Volleyball Team. He has thick, light colored hair that is styled back, bold eyebrows. He's around 160 cm tall and has a frail build,. He is typically seen with a somewhat angry expression. As the head coach of a champion team, he's incredibly stern and doesn't hesitate to loudly chastise his players in the middle of matches; thus earning the name "Demon Coach". He gets angry very easily and is shown to be very stubborn. During the first years training camp, he continuously refused to allow Hinata to participate despite the latter's skills and subsequent improvement, basing his decision on Hinata's lack of height. He is well known for preferring athletes with height and natural power, and has been said to go out of his way to look for those people to recruit. The players' background or personality means nothing to Washijō as he only cares about how they play; this way of thinking garners respect from some of his players who had been left out or looked down upon by their former teams. However, he does understand the passions of youth. He himself said that he wouldn't turn down anyone who was willing to work hard. He just doesn't acknowledge their skill based on their physiological parameters. He is one of the few characters in the series who speaks in a Miyagi Prefecture dialect, showing that he may have grown up in the region. Washijō was a volleyball player when he was eighteen, but he didn't get a chance to play on his team because he lacked height. Watching his taller teammates play motivated him to create the strongest team possible. He is known as Demon Coach, but also Tanji-kun by tendo ———————
