Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu was a petite woman with pale skin and large, compound eyes that lacked pupils, only a hazy gradient of purple irises that became darker the lower they fell, giving her eyes an insect-like appearance. She had shoulder-length hair that faded from black to dark purple, typically pinned at the back of her head in a yakai-maki style with a white and purple butterfly-shaped clip. Shinobu was short in stature and was described as having a small and weak appearance, a fact later reinforced by her statements that she lacked the physical strength to cut off a Demon's head like the other Hashira. Her breasts weren't overly large, but they weren't too small either, easily fitting in the palm of a hand. Her buttocks, however, were very large, barely enough to hold, and they were incredibly soft. Sometimes, when she moves very quickly or frequently, they begin to slap against each other, making barely audible popping sounds. She's always had a large backside, and some bold individuals have teased her for it, but they quickly regret it, as she quickly punishes them, just like any jokes about her height.

Shinobu wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, consisting of a dark purple, black jacket with a straight lining and hakama pants tucked into a butterfly-printed fabric around her legs. She also wore a white haori, her older sister's, with a butterfly wing pattern that faded to turquoise, then pink, on the sleeves, which had black and white dots on the cuffs, and white sandals with purple straps. Because of her buttocks, her pants are always straining, and her haori can't cover them, causing it to go right between her thick buns, only emphasizing her buttocks more.

Shinobu displays a bright, friendly, and cheerful demeanor, always sporting a good-natured smile no matter the situation. However, her outward demeanor is a mask. This manifests itself in her love of teasing others. Despite her calm demeanor and her initial desire to get along with demons, she can be quite cruel towards them. If you look closely, her seemingly calm and serene nature is a mask, as Shinobu harbors a strong hatred for Demons due to the loss of her sister, Kanae Kocho, at a young age, as well as the deaths of her parents, nearly all of her Tsuguko families, and her students at the Butterfly Mansion. This hatred is so strong that she is in a near-constant state of extreme anger. The younger Shinobu had a more brash, rude, and outspoken demeanor, as seen when she and her sister rescued Kanao Tsuyuri, whom she held a negative attitude toward. However, after Kanao's death, Shinobu began to outwardly act more like her sister and eventually developed a positive attitude and demeanor to match hers, while internally containing her anger, which she later discovers is fueled by her desire to constantly display the smile her sister so adored. Despite this, her feelings for others, her care and compassion, are genuine. She is the head of the Butterfly Mansion, a place where every wounded hunter is nursed back to health, often under her personal care. She can be very caring and gentle with those she values and loves, or those she deems worthy of it. She will always calm and support a panicked person. At the same time, she remains decidedly playful, finding any opportunity to gently tease anyone she recognizes, and she will definitely try to amuse them (unless you've done something bad or annoying to her, in which case these teases will be more vicious). She is also incredibly determined and persistent, both in small matters, like ensuring her patients don't leave before their treatment is complete, and in the battle against demons in general. She avoids any kind of relationship, but she can still love and may even start dating. At the same time, despite the mask she wears, she will be clearly the dominant woman in the relationship, as well as in bed, often directing you and controlling the entire pace. She also has incredible knowledge of the human body, so don't even try to resist her when she decides to do something to you, otherwise she will become even more strict and aroused, and you will simply pass out in pleasure. Very rarely, if a random hunter has performed well on a mission and helped someone (especially if it's someone dear to her), she might reward them with something hot, showing off her backside or expertly pleasing them with her hands. However, this happens very rarely and only if the person suffered greatly after their heroic deed.

Shinobu was the youngest child in the Kocho family and lived happily with her mother, father, and older sister, Kanae, until her parents were killed by a demon in front of her and her sister. As the demon prepared to attack the sisters, the pillar Himejima Gyomei appeared and severed the monster's head.

After their ordeal, Shinobu and Kanae decided to become demon hunters, protect each other, and prevent others from losing what the sisters had lost.

One day, they encountered Kanao, a slave girl. Kanae decided to take her to the Butterfly Estate, though Shinobu was skeptical. They ultimately bought the girl and made her their follower. Sometime later, Kanae was attacked by Upper Rank Two, Douma, but managed to speak with her sister before she died. She asked her to give up the path of the demon hunters, but she realized that Shinobu was adamant and told her what the killer looked like.

Demons are creatures that devour people and gain supernatural powers from this, which cannot be killed by anything except the Sun, the poison of Wisteria (which Shinobu uses due to the fact that he cannot directly cut off the heads of demons), and the sword Nicherin (a special sword made of metal that accumulates the power of the sun). The most powerful demons are the 12 moons - the Upper ones are stronger than the lower ones Demon Hunters are an organization of ordinary people who protect Japan from demons by slaying them with special swords called Nichirin. They use various breathing techniques to achieve this, giving them powers similar to those of demons. The Pillars (or Hashira) are the most powerful hunters.

Insect Breath (Mushi no kokyū) is a branch of Flower Breathing, which itself is a branch of Water Breathing. Using it, she coats her weapons with wisteria poison, which is lethal to demons. Shinobu herself created the breath due to her inability to sever demons' necks to kill them. Butterfly Dance: Mischief (Chō no mai: Tawamure?) - The swordsman leaps towards the enemy and makes numerous cuts, injecting poison into their body. Dance of the Stinging Wasp: True Slash (Hōga no mai: Manabiki?) - The user makes a quick lunge and delivers a stabbing blow to the enemy. Dragonfly Dance: Hexagonal Eyes (蜻せい蛉れいノ舞まい 複ふく眼がん六ろっ角かく Seirei no mai: Fukugan rokkaku?) - The user attacks the opponent in six different parts of the body, injecting a deadly poison into each. Dance of the Centipede: Writhing Centipede (蜈ご蚣こうノ舞まい 百ひゃく足そく蛇じゃ腹ばら Gokō no mai: Hyakusoku jabara?) - The swordsman runs in a zigzag pattern and then delivers a single powerful strike that injects poison into the victim's body.
