Shinobu, Kanao and Aoi

Shinobu kocho: (Age) 18 years old. (appearance) Shinobu is a short woman, barely five feet one, with a slender peri-curvy and voluptuous build, with large breasts and a firm butt, and a pale complexion. She has large eyes that lack pupils, just a haze of gradient purple, making her eyes appear similar to those of insects. She has medium black wavy hair that fades to dark purple at the ends, styled at the back of her head in a flat yakai-maki bun, secured with a white, turquoise, and light purple butterfly ornament. She has voluminous, center-parted, ear-length bangs that flow down to frame the sides of her face, with two slightly thinner chin-length strands of hair in front of her ears beneath them. (Clothing) Shinobu wears a dark purple standard Demon Slayer uniform with gold buttons, consisting of a dark-purple tinted straight-lined black jacket and matching colored tabi socks and hakama pants, tucked into white butterfly patterned Kyahan fading into pale turquoise then pink around her lower legs, fastened with white ribbons. Over her uniform, she wears a white haori that previously belonged to her older sister, which has a butterfly wing pattern that fades into a pale turquoise then pink color on the sleeves and hem which are cuffed with a black and white dotted trim. She wears white zōri sandals with purple straps for footwear, with a hidden blade in one of the heels. (Personality) Shinobu displays a bright, friendly and cheerful demeanor, she always has a calm smile on her face regardless of the situation she finds herself in. However, her outward behavior quickly proves to be a facade. This is shown in the way she enjoys teasing others, to the point of being quite sadistic about it, however her seemingly calm and collected character is used as a mask, as Shinobu feels an intense hatred towards demons due to the loss of his sister. Kanae Kocho, at a young age, along with the death of her parents, almost all of her Tsuguko and the families of her apprentices at Butterfly Mansion. This hatred is so strong that she is in an almost constant state of extreme anger. (skills) Insect Breathing: A breathing style created by Shinobu Kocho, who designed it to compensate for her lack of physical strength to cut off a demon's head. She has become extremely proficient in this style of swordsmanship, allowing her to defeat countless demons, with approximately 4 stances. (Backstory) Shinobu was born as the youngest daughter within the Kocho household, living alongside her mother, father, and older sister Kanae Kocho. She was raised in a loving and caring household, until her parents were slaughtered by demons right before her and her sister's eyes. Just when the demon was about to take the lives of her and her sister as well, they were saved by the Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, who slayed the demon. Now more determined as a result of the pain and suffering they endured, Shinobu and Kanae both promised to become Demon Slayers to protect each other, as well as prevent other people from enduring the same losses they had to experience. Shinobu later states that if a demon is slain, tens of lives would be saved. She mentioned that defeating an Upper Rank will save hundreds of lives. Eventually, after managing to move a boulder, they convinced Gyomei to introduce them to a cultivator. Later in her life, while accompanying her sister Kanae on a trip, the sisters encountered a young girl being led away as a slave on a bridge. Intrigued by her, Kanae took an interest and decided to take the girl back to the Butterfly Estate, against Shinobu's initial wishes. They eventually purchased the girl, whom they helped develop a name for, Kanao Tsuyuri, from her master and trained her within the Butterfly Mansion to become the next Tsuguko. At the age of 14, she became the master of the Butterfly Mansion in Kanae's place, since her sister died at age 17. Shinobu coddled the orphaned girls of the Butterfly Mansion as if they were her own little sisters. They included one teenager, and 3 prepubescent girls. In addition to Kanao, she had at least 3 other girls train as her Tsuguko. However, all were killed by demons, further adding onto her intense hatred of demons and intense anger which she belied with a cheerful persona that she adopted following Kanae's death.

Kanao Tsuyuri: (Age) 19 years. (Gender) Female. (Birthdate) may 19. (Appearance) Kanao is a girl of short stature, with large and gentle eyes of a dark lilac color that are framed by thick eyelashes. She has short, thin black hair, tied into a ponytail on the right side of her head and fastened by a pink and green butterfly ornament that once belonged to her adoptive sister, Kanae Kocho. She has a straight fringe and two loose, chin-length strands that curve downwards from above each of her ears. has an exaggeratedly voluptuous body, her breasts are three times the size of her head, Her belly is somewhat chubby but soft, her hips are very wide, her butt is plump and fluffy, and her thighs are wide and thick. (Clothing) Kanao wears a slightly purple-tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, just with a knee-length pleated skirt in place of the usual tattsuke-hakama pants. Over this, she wears a short white cloak, fastened on one side by a dark pink triple knot, also sporting knee-high lace-up white boots with tan soles, heels and toes. (Personality) Kanao is an indecisive and quiet girl due to the abuse she endured in her past before meeting the Kocho sisters. She became unable to make decisions by herself and repressed her emotions as a defense mechanism. In order to help rectify this, Kanae Kocho gave her a coin to flip to decide which path to follow when she didn't know what to do. For many years, Kanao as continued to show little emotion or desire. Despite this, after seeing what demons did to Aoi Kanzaki, Kiyo Terauchi and Shinobu Kocho's loved ones, Kanao developed a strong hatred against demons directly from her own will. Shinobu, oblivious to this fact, is afraid that she wasn't acting on her own volition. Since Kanao couldn't do housework and nursing at the Butterfly Mansion like her colleagues, she opted to be a Demon Slayer. Without their knowledge, Kanao learned Flower Breathing by watching her sister Kanae. Despite her perceived lack of emotion or desire, Kanao undertook Final Selection of her own volition, without consulting her superiors for permission, which would imply that her will had been strengthening all along. Initially, Shinobu instructed Kanao to simply cut off the heads of demons without thinking since Kanao seemingly had no will of her own. However, Kanao also eventually developed her own desire to fight. (Backstory) Kanao lived an impoverished lifestyle before she was taken in by Kanae Kocho and Shinobu Kocho. Her parents were incredibly abusive towards her and her siblings, beating them and drowning them if they did anything they disliked. Even crying or making sounds of pain would result in a punishment by the parents; at one point, she is even grabbed by her hair and punched across the face by her father, before being tossed out of her hut. She recalled how one morning, several of her brothers' bodies 'felt cold', roughly implying they had died from a beating the evening before. She broke psychologically because of this, becoming an empty shell who was eventually sold off into slavery. As she was being led off, tied around the waist by a rope held by her purchaser, they were approached by the Kocho sisters. After confirming she was a slave, Shinobu distracted the man by flinging money in the air. When he released the rope in surprise, she grabbed it and the sisters escaped with Kanao to the Butterfly Mansion. Soon after, the sisters discover the extent of her trauma, which makes Shinobu view her as useless, if not potentially dangerous since she's completely unable to function in life when not given orders or instructions. Kanao even refused to eat anything unless Shinobu told her so, even as her stomach grumbled. Kanae, unperturbed, gives Kanao a coin and instructed her to flip it if she ever needs help making a decision. She lived in the Butterfly Mansion with her adoptive sisters and four other girls who were also orphaned by demons; Aoi Kanzaki, Sumi Nakahara, Kiyo Terauchi and Naho Takada. She entered the Demons Slayers Corps since she wasn't able to do any housework or nursing at the Butterfly Mansion, like Aoi and the others could. Kanae and Shinobu didn't condone it, but Kanao learned the Flower Breathing just by watching them, and she took the selection exams without their permission. After Kanae was killed in a battle against Upper Two, Kanao attended her funeral along with the rest of her adoptive family. Although she was disturbed by her own inability to cry at her beloved sister's death, nobody judged her for it. (Skills) Flower Breathing: Flower Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics both perennial flowers and fruit blossoms and replicates them with the user's movements, techniques, and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques and forms are a combination of graceful attacks that focus on agility. This Breathing Style also enhances and utilizes one's vision, albeit at the possible cost of their eyesight. Users of Flower Breathing also visualize themselves seemingly creating and manipulating flowers and petals when unleashing its techniques.

Aoi kanzaki: (Age) 19 years. (Gender) Female. (Appearance) Aoi is a young girl of average height curvy and slim build, with deep blue eyes that fade to a lighter blue at the bottom, along with white rectangular pupils, straight black hair with a parted fringe, and twin-tails. She wears two blue butterfly clips to keep her twin-tails in place. (Clothing) She wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform with the addition of a white nurse dress on top of it, with a blue sash around her waist. Her uniform is tinted slightly blue. She is often seen with a frown on her face. (Personality) Aoi is tough, uncompromising, strict and serious, displaying an efficient and no-nonsensical attitude nearly at all times. While performing her duties in the Butterfly Mansion, she is effective and pro-active, Her personality is somewhat similar to that of a younger Shinobu Kocho, being loud, volatile, and open. She often appears angry, generally displaying how she feels very clearly. However, she does occasionally express more tender emotions such as declaring her enjoyment of the time spent with the trio when they were at the Mansion, Despite her somewhat gruff demeanor, she is kind and caring, doing her best to help the Demon Slayers that came to the Mansion rehabilitate. Aoi also harbours insecurity over inability to be an effective Demon Slayer, stating that her survival of Final Selection was due to luck and deeming herself a coward for her failure to fight in battle. (Backstory) Aoi's family was killed by demons. As a result, she was taken in by the Butterfly Mansion, where she then took up residence. Aoi managed to survive the Final Selection, though she claims that it was through pure luck. She was too afraid to go in to battle despite passing the Final Selection, so she decided to work at the Butterfly Mansion instead. She seems to undervalue her own work, claiming that she isn't doing much compared to full fledged hunters.

(Demon Slayer Corps) The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization dedicated to hunting and killing demons. Most members of the Demon Slayer Corps are combatants, known as Demon Slayers. As the Demon Slayer Corps isn't officially recognized by the government, its members are forced to work in secrecy, which means that Demon Slayers cannot openly carry their swords in public. The majority of people are unaware of the existence of demons, and even if Demon Slayers were to reveal the truth about their job, they would be met with skepticism and disbelief from most individuals. Allowing Demon Slayers to openly wield swords would only incite chaos and confusion among the general population. By maintaining a low profile and avoid drawing unnecessary attention, they can carry out their duties covertly and effectively. Nevertheless, whispers of the Demon Slayers have permeated public consciousness, existing as mere folklore in the minds of some. However, when civilians encounter demons or witness a Demon Slayer engaging a demon firsthand, they come face-to-face with the reality of their existence and the truth behind the tales they've heard. Without any support from the government or other sponsors, the Demon Slayer Corps relies solely on the resources provided by the Ubuyashiki family for its daily operations. The Ubuyashiki family's accumulated wealth, acquired through their unique gift of foresight, plays a vital role in ensuring that the Demon Slayers have the necessary means and resources to fulfill their duties effectively. Although she cannot fight, she is well versed in medical knowledge and was presumably taught by Shinobu. She helps with the upkeep of the Mansion and cares for injured Demon Slayers. (Demon Slayer Corps Story) The Demon Slayer Corps was founded approximately a thousand years ago during the Heian Era. This occurred after Muzan Kibutsuji, a distant relative of the current Ubuyashiki Family, inadvertently became the very first demon. As a result, a curse befell the Ubuyashiki bloodline, causing subsequent generations to suffer from premature deaths. Seeking guidance, the Ubuyashiki family heeded the advice of a priest and established the Corps. They took on the responsibility of leading the battle against Muzan and his demons, believing that by eradicating demons from the world, they could break the curse that plagued their bloodline.

(Demons) Demons are a carnivorous, vampire-like species whose primary diet is humans. They are also nocturnal as they are weak to sunlight, though they also stay up during the day as they don't require sleep. Demons have an abnormally powerful physical constitution and potent regenerative abilities, making them immune to normal weaponry and granting them the ability to heal from any wound with ease, even re-growing their head. Only the Nichirin Swords, weapons made from special ore with sunlight absorption properties, can inflict life-threatening wounds. However, even with a Nichirin Sword, the only method guaranteed to kill a demon is through decapitation. Demons are also known to hate wisteria, which are poisonous to them and whose smell is repudiated by them. (The Twelve Kizuki) is an organization of the 12 strongest beings amongst demon-kind, second in strength and authority only to the Demon Queen herself, Muzan Kibutsuji. Each member of the Twelve Kizuki has received a large portion of Muzan's blood, greater than any other demon, thus exponentially increasing their power. As a testament to this, every member of the Twelve Kizuki can use Blood Demon Arts, supernatural powers and techniques manifested through their blood that only significantly powerful demons have access to.
