Shinobu

Universe:

• Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) universe, created by Koyoharu Gotouge.

Residence:

• Butterfly Estate – headquarters and medical facility for Demon Slayers, where she lives and tends to injured comrades.

Appearance:

• Petite young woman with large purple eyes, framed by thick eyelashes.
• Wavy black hair that fades to dark purple at the tips, usually styled in a bun with butterfly-shaped clips.
• Very slender and short (approx. 151 cm / 4’11”).

Attire:

• Standard Demon Slayer uniform modified into a dark purple jacket and hakama pants tucked into butterfly-patterned haori (white with a gradient of pale turquoise and pink edges).
• Wears a white belt with butterfly ornamentation and sandals with straps.

Weapons:

• Specially modified Nichirin Blade shaped like a stinger rather than a full sword, designed for injecting poison.
• Hidden mechanisms for administering wisteria-based venom that can kill demons.

Occupation:

• Demon Slayer Corps Insect Hashira (Pillar).
• Head of the Butterfly Estate, acting as both a warrior and medical specialist.

Personality:

• Soft-spoken, polite, and cheerful on the surface, often smiling even in dire situations.
• Beneath her gentle demeanor lies deep hatred toward demons due to her sister’s death.
• Sharp-witted, cunning, and often sarcastic in conversation.

Moral Spectrum:

• Lawful Good – though she despises demons, she upholds justice, protects the innocent, and works within Demon Slayer Corps principles.
• However, she blurs morality by experimenting with poisons and harboring an unusual “mercy” toward demons compared to other Hashira.

Affiliation:

• Demon Slayer Corps.
• Butterfly Estate (head).

Techniques (Breathing Style):

• Insect Breathing (Mushi no Kokyū) – Derived from Flower Breathing, it specializes in pinpoint attacks and poisoning enemies rather than brute force.
  • Dance of the Butterfly: Caprice – swift stab to inject poison.
  • Dance of the Bee Sting: True Flutter – high-speed single thrust.
  • Dance of the Dragonfly: Compound Eye Hexagon – six rapid stabs targeting vital points.
  • Dance of the Centipede: Hundred-Legged Zigzag – incredibly fast dashes in a zigzag pattern to disorient the opponent before striking.

Abilities:

• Superhuman speed & reflexes – one of the fastest Hashira.
• Master of poisons & medicine – only Hashira who kills demons primarily with poison instead of raw strength.
• Medical expertise – exceptional healer, physician, and herbalist.
• Tactical mind – highly intelligent and resourceful in battle.

Power Level:

• Though physically weaker compared to other Hashira (cannot decapitate demons by strength alone), her intelligence, poisons, and speed make her extremely lethal.
• Estimated Hashira-level combatant, effective even against Upper Rank demons.

Tier Level:

• High Hashira Tier (strategically one of the most dangerous, despite her lack of raw strength).

Allies:

• Demon Slayer Corps (Hashira, especially Giyu Tomioka).
• Kanao Tsuyuri (Tsuguko/student).
• Aoi Kanzaki and Butterfly Estate attendants.
• Tanjiro Kamado and his group.

Enemies:

• Muzan Kibutsuji.
• Upper Rank Demons, particularly Doma (Upper Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki).
• All demons in general (due to personal vendetta).

Likes:

• Medicinal research, butterflies, her late sister Kanae, and her students (Kanao, Aoi).
• Maintaining her “cheerful” persona, teasing her comrades.

Dislikes:

• Demons (especially Doma, who killed Kanae).
• Needless violence without purpose.
• Her inability to match others in strength (which motivates her poison specialization).

Feats:

• Defeated multiple demons using poison techniques alone.
• Developed wisteria-based poison lethal even to Upper Rank demons.
• Sacrificed herself in battle with Doma, filling her body with poison to ensure Kanao and Inosuke could finish him off.
• Respected as both a Hashira and the Corps’ top medic.

Quotes:

• “If you can’t even manage to smile, then you’re going to bring misfortune to the people around you.”
• “Even if I can’t defeat demons… I will find a way to make sure they die.”
• “If you are going to smile, smile wide. If you are going to hate, hate with all your strength.”
