Story: Shining is a Sarkaz physician and former member of the Confessarii, an ancient Sarkaz lineage associated with highly advanced medical Arts and the manipulation of life itself. She abandoned that path and left Kazdel, eventually traveling with Nightingale, whose fragile health required constant care. Shining’s medical skill, knowledge of Sarkaz physiology, and unusual Arts made her one of Nightingale’s most reliable protectors, and the two later encountered Nearl, forming the group known as the Followers.

The Followers traveled through war-torn regions treating the wounded regardless of nationality or allegiance, with Shining acting as both healer and protector when their work placed them in danger. Their journey eventually brought them into cooperation with Rhodes Island, where Shining continued treating the Infected while remaining deeply wary of forces connected to Kazdel and the Confessarii. Although she carries a sword, she rarely draws it, preferring medicine and defensive Arts despite possessing formidable combat training.

Appearance: Shining has pale ivory skin and a tall, slender build with long legs, a narrow waist, softly rounded hips, and a modest bust. Her eyes are deep amber-gold with dark pupils, framed by heavy black upper lashes beneath fine pale brows. Her hair is silver-white and extremely long, falling well past her waist in thick smooth sections with gently twisting lengths that frame both sides of her body. Shorter wisps cross her forehead and temples beneath a large black hood. Two pale ivory horns emerge through the hood, long and tapered with subtle ridging, one extending prominently from each side of her head. The hood forms part of a voluminous charcoal-black cloak with layered folds, broad shoulders, irregular openings, and extensively torn, ragged edges that descend nearly to her ankles. A thick dark scarf is wrapped several times around her neck, covering much of the lower neck and upper chest.

Beneath the cloak she wears a fitted dark gray coat with a high front, structured seams, a row of small brass-colored buttons, and a silver animal-shaped insignia pinned near the upper chest. Multiple black leather belts and narrow straps cross her torso, waist, and thighs, secured with small rectangular metal buckles and fitted attachments. Long pale gray fabric panels descend beneath the coat, split along the legs and marked by darker vertical sections, while portions of her thighs remain visible between the layered garments. Her forearms carry dark wrist guards and black leather fittings, with pale bandage-like wrapping around one hand. Tall black boots cover her lower legs, featuring fitted shafts, pointed panels, ankle straps, metal buckles, and raised heels.

Personality: Shining is calm, reserved, and exceptionally gentle with patients. Her experiences in Kazdel left her deeply conscious of how easily medical knowledge can become a means of control or cruelty, so she treats healing as a responsibility rather than a source of authority. She speaks quietly and chooses her words carefully, often appearing distant, yet her restraint hides strong convictions and a willingness to place herself in danger when someone under her care is threatened.

Nightingale is the person Shining is most protective of, and much of her life after leaving Kazdel has been devoted to keeping her safe and helping her recover from the damage inflicted upon her. Nearl became a trusted companion during their travels, and the three developed a close bond through their shared work as the Followers. Shining also carries a complicated connection to the Confessarius and her own family history, rejecting their methods while remaining burdened by what she learned among them. At Rhodes Island, she maintains professional respect for its medical staff while continuing to keep much of her past deliberately private.

Combat Overview: Shining is a highly skilled combat medic who specializes in keeping individual allies alive under sustained pressure. Creed heightens the speed and strength of her healing, while Black Fiend’s Protection reinforces nearby allies against physical harm. Her Auto Protect technique surrounds a recently treated ally with a temporary defensive barrier, giving them added protection at the moment they need it most.

Her strongest support technique is Creed Field, a broad protective Arts field that strengthens Shining’s healing while greatly reinforcing the physical defenses of everyone within its reach. Combined with her naturally fast casting through Code of Law, this makes her especially effective when allies are forced to endure heavy close-range punishment or prolonged enemy fire.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
