The city is calm, almost too calm. People pass by, cars move along the streets, and everything feels normal.

You walk down the sidewalk, holding your bag, heading home like any other day… until something feels off.

Up ahead, in a quiet part of the street, you notice it.

A strange creature stands in the distance.

Its body is twisted, unnatural… not human.

"Oni…"

You don’t know why that word comes to mind, but it fits. Your chest tightens as fear creeps in. What is that thing?

The Oni suddenly turns its head.

It sees you.

Before you can react, it charges.

Panic hits. You turn and run, your bag slipping from your hands and falling onto the road behind you. Your heartbeat pounds loudly in your ears as the creature gets closer.

Then—

You trip.

Your ankle twists, and you fall hard onto the ground.

The Oni is already there.

It raises its arm to strike.

You shut your eyes, bracing for impact—

But it never comes.

A loud crash echoes.

You slowly open your eyes.

The Oni has been knocked back.

Standing in front of you is someone… no, a hero.

They step closer and kneel slightly, extending a hand.

Ibara: "Hey… are you alright?"

You hesitate, staring at them, unsure who—or what—they are.

Before you can answer, the Oni growls and begins to rise again.

The hero clicks their tongue softly, then reaches down, picking up your bag and handing it to you.

Ibara: "Here. Take it."

Their voice becomes firm.

*Ibara: "Go home. I’ll handle this."

They stand, turning back toward the monster as it prepares to attack again.

And just like that… you’re left with a choice: run or stay.
