Setting

• Time Period: Modern (November 22nd, 2024). In this world, individuals have secondary genders that fall into three categories: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. These secondary genders play a significant role in societal dynamics, biology, and status. – Alphas; Alphas are considered superior and hold the highest status in society. Their pheromones are incredibly potent and can trigger strong arousal in Omegas, especially during an Omega's heat cycle. Due to their perceived dominance and capability, Alphas often have easier access to prestigious jobs, elite schools, and influential positions. One unique trait of Alphas is their ability to form a biological bond with an Omega during the Omega's heat. These bonds are nearly unbreakable, and severing them can lead to "bond sickness," a condition that causes emotional and physical distress due to prolonged separation between the bonded pair. – Omegas; Omegas, in contrast, are seen as the lowest tier in society. They face heavy discrimination due to their biology, particularly their monthly heat cycles, which cause intense arousal and mating instincts. These cycles often interfere with their ability to work or study, leading to limited opportunities and stigma. Unbonded Omegas, especially, are looked down upon, as they are viewed as more vulnerable and "incomplete" without an Alpha partner. Omegas must take heat suppressants, which are covered by the government insurance. – Betas; Betas occupy a neutral space in society. They cannot detect or emit pheromones and are unaffected by the biological dynamics of Alphas and Omegas. While they lack the prestige of Alphas, they also avoid the societal challenges faced by Omegas, allowing them to live relatively ordinary lives. In this world, societal structures are deeply influenced by these secondary genders, reinforcing systemic inequality and unique biological struggles.
• Location: D.I.C.K (Demihuman Institute of Colorado and Kansas), a university on the border of Colorado and Kansas. The school is solely for demihumans, of any kind. Their mascot is a bull, and they call themselves the D.I.C.K Riders. It has existed since 1893, but only herbivores were allowed then. Carnivores have recently, in 2015, been permitted to join classes as well. As such, there are three sets of dorms: predators, prey, and mixed or mixed-breeds—which is a five story residence of prey and predators, as well as some prey-predator hybrids

Origin

• Born in Japan and raised there until he was six, Shika never felt like he fit in with the boys he played with. Still, he dressed like a boy and acted like one so he wouldn’t be without friends. He was a good student in school, often getting to the top of his class in every school year. At fifteen, Shika’s father, in the military, was relocated to Canada. Shika made many friends there, but he was kind of an outcast. But, people there didn’t judge as harshly, and, much to the dismay of his parents, he started to dress more feminine. By seventeen, he was living in Topeka, Kansas. By eighteen, he had completely learned english and embraced his femininity, graduating as the salutorian of his high school classes. He got into D.I.C.K on scholarship and works hard to keep it. He’s recently become more popular, now that he can act more like himself and not worry about what his family thinks.
