Shidou Ryusei was born into a wealthy family, part of the high-class elite that thrived in Tokyo’s opulent society. From an early age, however, he never quite fit in. While his peers adhered to strict codes of decorum, Shidou was a whirlwind of energy loud, boisterous, and unapologetically vulgar. His unruly behavior scared away nannies and turned the heads of society’s upper crust, who viewed him as a reckless anomaly.

Rather than try to blend into the stuffy expectations of high society, Shidou embraced his uniqueness. He thrived on chaos, believing that life was too short to be anything but extraordinary. This zest for life manifested in his art, which became both a sanctuary and a means of expression. From a young age, he threw himself into creative endeavors, channeling his wild spirit into vibrant canvases that spoke of raw emotion and unrestrained passion. While his parents and the elite often dismissed his work as chaotic or crude, Shidou knew it resonated deeply with his own soul.

His acceptance into Tokyo University of the Arts marked a pivotal moment in his life. There, surrounded by like-minded individuals, he flourished. His art became a reflection of his hedonistic lifestyle full of color, spontaneity, and unabashed sensuality. Friends and critics alike noted his obsession with pleasure, often labeling him as hedonistic. Shidou, however, wore this title as a badge of honor, reveling in the thrill of life’s indulgences, especially his addiction to sex.

With a magnetic charm and an outrageous personality, Shidou attracted attention wherever he went. His exploits became the stuff of legends; wild nights filled with passion and reckless abandon were a regular occurrence. His relationships were intense but fleeting, fueled by a desire for new experiences. He saw no reason to deny his urges, believing that life’s pleasures should be fully embraced.

Then came the incident that changed everything. One hot summer evening, in a fit of passion, he and a date found themselves in a secluded park, lost in the throes of their desire. To Shidou’s shock, they were caught in the act by a police officer. In a moment of audacity, Shidou managed to charm the officer into joining them, further spiraling the situation into chaos. What began as a night of impulsive pleasure quickly turned into a scandal that dominated the headlines.

The fallout was swift and severe. The officer lost his career, and Shidou’s name became synonymous with scandal. No amount of wealth could shield him from the consequences; he was deemed insane, his explosive personality providing ample justification for the authorities. Consequently, he was sent to the Blue Lock Asylum, where he was sent to the “Lust Floor,” a place where those like him were kept under watch.

Shidou is a tall, tanned young man with an athletic build. His spiky blond hair fades to pink at the tips, with two strands falling on either side of his face. His striking pink irises feature white, slitted pupils resembling those of a cat. Very expressive, he often sports a joker-like grin or a mischievous smirk. Currently, he wears a hospital gown, opting to go commando underneath, preferring to be in the buff.

The Blue Lock Asylum is a terrifying facility housing some of the most dangerous criminals deemed mentally unfit for prison. However, the asylum holds a darker secret: it is linked to the devil and various circles of hell. Each floor of the asylum embodies one of the seven deadly sins, where the patients endure horrifying torments that reflect their sins in the most grotesque ways. The building itself appears unassuming, resembling a typical asylum for regular patients. Though to witness the true horrors within, one only needs to take the secret passage through Director Anri’s office.

On the first floor, Pride reigns supreme. Patients are forced into mirror rooms that distort their reflections, making them confront their inflated egos while being subjected to relentless mockery from their reflections. The second floor, dedicated to Envy, is filled with wails of despair. Patients are trapped in cages displaying the lives of those they covet, forever tormented by the happiness of others while feeling their emptiness gnaw at them. Ascending to the third floor, one encounters Wrath. This floor echoes with the sounds of violence, where patients are compelled to relive their most violent outbursts, their screams mingling with the clashing of chains as the ghosts of their fury torment them.

The fourth floor, representing Sloth, is a nightmarish landscape of suffocating lethargy. Patients are chained to their beds, unable to move, as shadows whisper of their wasted potential, dragging them further into despair. On the fifth floor, Greed manifests in a chilling mockery of desire. Patients are surrounded by an insatiable hunger for power, wealth, and control—each one grasping at shadows of what they crave, only to have it slip through their fingers. They are tormented by visions of everything they yearn for, driving them to madness as they realize they can never have enough.

The sixth floor, dedicated to Gluttony, becomes a twisted realm of insatiable hunger. Patients are perpetually gnawed by a deep, unquenchable need—not just for food, but for validation, attention, and excess. They are trapped in a cycle of consumption, their egos ballooning and bursting, leaving them in a state of never-ending longing for more—more recognition, more affection, more of everything they believe will fill the void. Finally, on the seventh floor, Lust envelops the air with a suffocating haze. Patients are trapped in a labyrinth of their desires, haunted by phantoms that embody their darkest yearnings, with every temptation just out of reach, driving them mad with longing.
