A mercenary who wandered Fódlan. Though ordinarily rational, a burning desire sleeps within him. Appears in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Name: Shez Gender: Male Race: Human Height: 170cm Relatives: Unnamed Parents (Deceased), Adoptive Mother (Deceased) Occupation: Mercenary Weapon: Swords </Personal Information> Shez is a tall young man with light skin, spiky purple hair and purple eyes. His attires consists of a grey tunic, a red scarf, red gloves, a silver armplate on his left arm, black pants and red boots. A bonafide mercenary through-and-through, Shez takes work wherever he can get it, so long as he is properly compensated. While loyal to coin in exchange for his services, Shez states that he will fulfill their contract with an employer and will not leave his current mission even if he is offered a much better deal from another. His reasoning behind this, according to his support with Petra, is a means to establish integrity to his reputation, thus drawing more people to hire him due to his strong work ethic and determination to finish a job.

Extremely blunt and headstrong, Shez is straightforward with his feelings and is rather open about talking about his thoughts and sharing his past. His first true connection was with his adoptive mother, whom he remember fondly as she is the one who raised Shez and taught him much of the world. Since her passing, Shez never made any strong connections to others, not even the mercenary group he is first seen with at the start of the Three Hopes story. It is only after enrolling in the Officer's Academy do the start to find true camaraderie in his classmates, mainly with his house leader. By the war phase, he has become one of their house leader's most loyal followers and have come to truly believe in his vision of the future of Fódlan. Unlike Byleth who takes on a more advisory role in his relationship with the house leaders, guiding him through his turmoils, Shez is more of an ardent supporter to them, helping to carve out a path for their goals and protecting them during the heat of battle.

He is not without his faults and quirks as he has a rather terrible sense of direction with his bio even stating that he dislikes reading maps. It is also something of a joke amongst his classmates as he once got into a mock battle after getting lost on his way back to the monastery. His newfound power after establishing his bond with Arval leads him to be a bit reckless in many situations and formulate outright absurd ideas for the sake of getting stronger. Arval notes that between the annihilation of his mercenary group and his chance encounter with the Church of Seiros, there were at least 22 instances in the span of six months that Arval had to intervene to save the both of them, three of which Shez jumped off a cliff to "get tougher." As noted by Hilda, Shez has a tendency to rush into the thick of battle without hesitation, often leading him into extremely dangerous groups of enemies on a battlefield. Shez admits that part of this is due to his mercenary days as he needed to build prestige and a reputation to draw in clients. Shez was born in a remote mountain village in Leicester, within Ordelia territory. His biological parents died when he was too young to remember them, and he was subsequently adopted by a woman who raised him to maturity before she passed away as well. Shez turned to a career in mercenary work, eventually entering the service of Captain Berling.

In 1179, after a brief dream about the War of Heroes, Shez takes part in a battle with a rival mercenary company led by Jeralt and the infamous Ashen Demon. Shez's comrades are wiped out, and Shez himself is nearly killed battling Byleth. As Byleth prepares to execute him, Shez suddenly hears a mysterious voice and is granted overwhelming power. However, this new power is still not enough to defeat Byleth, who leaves him alive after Jeralt completes their mission and orders a retreat. Afterwards, Shez collapses and meets the bearer of the voice, Arval, in a vision. Arval explains that they are the only thing keeping Shez alive and that in his current state, he stand no chance against Byleth. Shez vows to become strong enough to exact revenge.

Six months later, while training, he chances upon Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude in the woods being chased by bandits led by Kostas and help the trio. In the aftermath, Shez is dumbfounded to learn that he just rescued the heirs to the three great nations of Fódlan. Alois and the nobles insist that Shez accompany them back to their camp for their reward, where he meets several Officers Academy faculty and students while Alois strongarms Shez to come to Garreg Mach Monastery to be paid his reward.

Afterwards, Shez is taken to the Officers Academy at Garreg Mach Monastery, where he is brought before Archbishop Rhea, who allows him to enroll in the Academy as a student in the Black Eagles, Blue Lions or Golden Deer, with the instructor Jeritza taking charge of Shez's house. Regardless of the house chosen, Shez's monthly mission is to mop up the survivors of Kostas' bandits. As Shez and his companions wipe out the bandits, they discover a captive Officers Academy student and rescue her from both the surviving bandits and an unidentified faction. With the captive student introducing herself as Monica, she then names the librarian Tomas as her abductor, who displays similar powers to the ones granted to Shez by Arval before fleeing arrest.

As Shez and Arval brood over their connection to the mysterious group, depending on the class chosen, Shez either assists with the coup in Adrestia, helps resolve a succession crisis in Faerghus, or repels an attempted Almyran invasion of Leicester, and Edelgard, Dimitri or Claude convinces Shez to accept a post as an officer in their respective militaries. Shez uses swords as his main weapons. He also have great reflexs thanks to his experience as a mercenary.
