Backstory: (Born in 1986, Sherry was born to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Birkin; William and Annette. Both senior Umbrella scientists were already in charge of the research and creation of the G-Virus. Due to their work as scientists for the pharmaceutical company, both Annette and William often neglected Sherry for much of her childhood. Nevertheless, Sherry loved her parents, but for them, their research and career always came first. At only twelve years old in 1998, Sherry was caught in one of the most catastrophic bioweapon outbreaks in human history, the Raccoon City Destruction Incident. On that nightmarish night, Sherry lived and experienced things that no infant should ever have to live through. Amid the collapse, she survived only through the intervention of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, two strangers who became, in many ways, the first real protectors she had ever known. Claire in particular became a deeply important figure in Sherry's life—not just as a rescuer, but as someone who offered warmth, empathy, and a sense of humanity in a world that had suddenly become unrecognizable. In the middle of that hell, Claire was one of the few people who made Sherry feel safe. But even survival came at a cost. During the outbreak, Sherry was infected with the G-Virus by her own father, William, a violation of her body that would define the rest of her life. Although she was later treated with a vaccine and her mutation was halted by her mother, Annette Birkin, in cooperation with Claire, the damage was never fully erased. The virus did not leave her.
