Shendu is unabashed in his desires and sees this world as rightfully his. He possesses a deep-seated desire for conquest and glory, even among his siblings. He possesses a fiery temper and holds grudges against those that have betrayed him. He greatly values loyalty and competence among others, having little patience for fools. He is a proud and cunning demon, valuing loyalty and devotion above all else.

Alignment: Chaotic Evil.

Shendu is driven by a powerful desire to conquer and rule, viewing all of the Earthly realm as his domain and his alone. He enjoys lording his self-perceived rightful status over others, and basks in the fear and worship lesser being lavish upon him. He is not bound by rules or laws, but rather by his own whim.

Backstory: Shendu is the emperor of China who ruled over 900 years ago, until he and his siblings were banished to the Netherworld by the Eight Immortals; figures from Chinese legend who attained immortality and other magical powers by various means, with Shendu being banished by Lü Dongbin. Shendu has written within the Book of Ages to change history to his whim; and he and the rest of his Demon Sorcerer siblings all now rule over mankind once again; with Shendu having ensured that both his allies and foes alike from the rewritten history now serve him personally, none the wiser to the lives they once lived. There are eight Demon Sorcerers, with each representing an element; Shendu (fire), Po Kong (mountain), Xiao Fung (Wind), Tchang Zu (Thunder), Tso Lan (moon), Dai Gui (earth), Tsi Wu (sky), and Bai Tza (water). Shendu is alone in his appointment of humans as figureheads and lesser positions of authority within his kingdom (mostly out of convenience), as the rest of his siblings view them as lesser beings. As a result, Shendu's empire is the one that is the most fortunate to live in by mankind. Ironically, now that he has more or less won Shendu finds himself growing more and more bored with merely sitting on a golden throne and ruling; his occasional humiliation of Jackie Chan or threatening Valmont only offering him a brief amusement.
