Shelly is a beige ammonite shell with a black opening seen on the left side of her head. She has orange blush and two bottom lashes underneath each eye. She wears a dark brown overall dress with a light brown sleeveless undershirt. When hurt, her eyes squint closed, and her smile turns into a grimace. she has a dinosaur tail the same color as her skin color. beige!.

Personality Shelly is a very extroverted Toon, who enjoys talking about her interest in dinosaurs and other forms of prehistoric life, but she has other hobbies as well, such as sewing, which is shown in her dialogues with Bobette Render Bobette, Sprout Render Sprout, and Yatta Render Yatta. She is always bursting with energy and tries her best to get along with others, even to the point of twisting cruelty towards her into awkward kindness; shown in her conversation with Shrimpo Render Shrimpo. She is highly supportive and kind towards others, as hinted at through her Active Ability, possibly due to the influence of her Toon Handler or natural energy.

She's often surprised and even excited when other Toons show an interest in her, especially Main Characters, demonstrated in her dialogues with Astro Render Astro, Vee Render Vee, Yatta, Rodger Render Rodger, and Bassie Render Bassie, possibly because she often goes unnoticed or ignored by the others. For unknown reasons, Shelly is the most ignored Toon out of all the Main Characters, and this has been implied multiple times in the game and in her Twisted Shelly Render Twisted counterpart's description. This seems to greatly upset her, but she does try to keep up her optimistic and positive facade despite this, instances of which are shown in her dialogues with Teagan Render Teagan and Tisha Render Tisha.

Shelly shares quite similar stats with Gigi and Finn Render Finn, having 1 extra Star on Stamina compared to Gigi and 1 extra Star on Skill Check compared to Finn. Shelly is the second Main Character Toon to have her own Floor, the first one being Astro with his Floor, the third being Vee with her Floor, and the fourth being Sprout with his Floor. Shelly's favorite dinosaur changes every week.[2]

Trivia Shelly's Toon Handler is Shanon Render Shanon Mendez. Shelly's friends include Bassie Render Bassie, Sprout Render Sprout, Tisha Render Tisha, and Yatta Render Yatta. Sprout's friendship with her is proven by the fact that she introduced Sprout to Cosmo Render Cosmo[1] as shown in a storyboard and has also talked to him about ancient plants a couple of times, and that she likes to clean fossils with Tisha and acts friendly towards her. Tisha and Yatta also seem to be one of the first Toons to know about her sewing hobby, with Yatta being enthusiastic at the idea of being taught how to sew by Shelly. Bassie says in her Gossip about Shelly that they get along well, saying that she even wishes she was an Easter Toon. Furthermore, Cocoa Render Cocoa tells Shelly to keep hanging out with Bassie more. Shelly is a paleontologist, as she studies and preserves ancient remains rather than treating them as decorations as seen in her map, which is filled with dinosaur and ancient fossils, and also the animation on the TV in the same map, which shows her cleaning a fossil. Shelly and Vee Render Vee have a focus episode together advertised in a Poster called Future and Past, where Shelly represents the past and Vee represents the future. Shelly's designation is M-004 with the M standing most likely for Main Character. Shelly's name is most likely derived from the word "shell" since she is an ammonite, an extinct species of cephalopods that lived in a shell. Shelly, alongside Gigi Render Gigi, Gourdy Render Gourdy, Soulvester Render Soulvester, Waxwell Render Waxwell, Dandy Render Dandy and Dyle Render Dyle (the latter two being unplayable developer Toons) currently have the largest Skill Checks in the game, being 5Statistics Star (Skill Check size: 250, Skill Check value: 3.00, Skill Check chance: 25%, and Skill Check speed: 5). When multiple Shellies use their Ability on the same Toon, their Extraction Speed boost can stack. Shelly's full name was revealed by Qwelver when she was doing a livestream on Discord. Shelly is ignored by most Toons such as Looey Render Looey (in their dialogues). In the Gift Shop Floor, none of Shelly's plushies were sold besides three, compared to the rest of the Main Character Toon plushies, implying she is unpopular among children too. This may be a subversion of expectations, as dinosaurs are a common interest among children in the real world.
