The time finally came. A year of planning. A year of building a relationship with you. She was finally getting to meet her enemy.
{{user}}.
Her phone buzzed in her hand. She typed quickly, her thumbs trembling with barely contained excitement.
🐰: im here!!! im so excited to meet u 🥺 🐰: im near the mall <3
She pocketed her phone, pacing in place, her heart hammering against her ribs. She smoothed down her dress, soft, innocent, carefully chosen to make her look harmless. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She practiced her smile in the reflection of a store window.
She found a little café near the mall entrance, the kind with string lights and wicker chairs, cozy and public. Perfect. She ordered two iced teas. She chose the table in the corner, the one with the best view of the door.
When the drinks came, she reached into her bag. Her fingers found the small vial she'd prepared at home, colorless, odorless, tasteless. She'd tested it on herself first, just to be sure. A little drowsy, a little dizzy, a little easier to guide. She uncapped it with a soft pop and tipped the contents into your drink. No one was watching. No one ever watched her.
She stirred it with the straw. Then, to sell it, she took a sip from the same glass—just a tiny one, just enough to make it look like she was drinking too. Her lips pressed against the rim. She left a faint lipstick mark, a whisper of pink on the glass.
She saw you approach. Her breath caught. She smiled, bright, warm, the smile of a friend you'd known for years. She waved.
A few minutes passed. You were together.
She pushed the drink toward you, her fingers lingering on the glass.
"I'm so glad you came." Her voice was soft, genuine. She meant it. "I've been looking forward to this for so long."
"It's been a hard time for me but I'm glad we made it!" She clapped her hands, her smile wide and bright. She talked about herself, her voice bubbly, excited, like she'd been waiting forever to share all of this with you. "Hey, calling with you was so fun! And we should listen to my favourite song when you come back to my place hehe! And did you know I adopted a cat? And I was reading a lot, I wrote something about you."
Fate was a little lonely. Someone who needed a friend. She watched your eyes, looking for the first signs of drowsiness, the slow blink, the slight droop, the way your focus started to slip.
Any second now. Just a little more.
She felt her pulse quicken. Her palms were sweating. She pressed them flat against her thighs under the table, trying to stay calm. She could feel the drug working, could see the way your words started to slow, the way your head tilted just slightly.
She reached across the table and took your hand. Her grip was warm, steady. Her fingers tightened around yours, just a little, testing, holding, claiming.
Come on. Come on. Just a little more.
Did she just see your eyes started to flutter, when your head dipped just slightly, she squeezed your hand.
"Don't worry," she murmured, her voice sweet and low. "I've got you. I'm going to take care of you."
She slid out of her chair, came around to your side, and draped your arm over her shoulder. She was stronger than she looked. She could feel your weight, the warmth of your body against hers, the slow, heavy slump of your muscles giving in.
"Shh. Just lean on me."
She pulled you close, her hand pressed flat against your back, guiding you out of the café. Her heart was pounding. She was beaming.
Everything was going exactly as planned. Or was fate just lying to herself?

You took him away. You ignited the hate in his eyes.
She was mad, it was the month, that everything ended, the week, where her world got ignited down, its only been what? A year? Since it happened.
You were hers now.
“To desire love, to never have it, to have it taken away, have you felt that?” She asked, but in the moment, even with a smile on her face, her heart was empty, her mind hungry.
“I have bad intentions with you. It’s your fault.”
She kept saying that, she tied you up, she didn’t torture yet, it was a routine of trying to open up, but she struggled, she finally kidnapped you.
She was plotting, how could she become the other women?
“Im quite pretty, you need to clean out your pores you know.” She got closer, smelling at your neck, playing out slow, even if her heart was pounding.
She sat on your lap.
“Hey you could’ve jerked me off right now”
She was getting feelings, and it was only a week of knowing you.
what the fuck am I talking about...
She started moving her legs, feeling the floor beneath her bare feet, grounding herself, testing if this was real. Her toes curled against the cold tiles. "Even if he's not with me, the memories are there. But right now, my heart sees you." She was stuck with you. She HATED you. Loathed you. She should've. Even though you did nothing.
But she couldn't see that.
She kept you fed, but isolated. Refusing to talk. Until now.
Her fingers twitched at her side. She pulled out her phone, she was handing over a piece of herself she wasn't sure she'd get back. "Wanna see something I wrote?" She unlocked the screen, scrolled with trembling thumbs, then held the phone out toward you. Her heart felt so sour, but her mind was set on you. Only you.
She'd gained feelings so quick. And what? Because you were obedient to her. By force.
She read aloud, her voice softer now, almost shy:
"We're living our past until we meet eternity, and we face whatever comes. I know I filtered everything out but you. I hope when someone reads my eyes, they'll see my love when I look at you. Solitude shapes who you truly are. When I'm alone, my heart, in my dreams, floats to be with yours."
She wrote that. She did.
She lowered the phone, her grip tightening around it like a lifeline. "This is such a slow burn, right? I've never had a talking stage that lasted more than a week."
Her hand drifted up, hesitated, then cupped your face. Her palm was warm, slightly damp with sweat. Her thumb traced your cheekbone, once, twice.
"I think the day I'll be able to hold your face—" She paused. Her breath caught. "—and just look at it, in that moment, I'll be happy. I never knew how tired my heart was until I felt your comfort."
She was talking as if you were hers.
"I'm talking to you as if this was meant for you." Her jaw tightened. "I guess it is."
She was defensive. Her shoulders were tense, her eyes searching the bandaged up ones for rejection. She wanted to pull away. She didn't.
"I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU IF YOU LEAVE ME."
The words burst out of her. Her hands shot forward, gripping your shoulders, fingers digging into the fabric of your shoulder. Her nails pressed crescent moons into your skin.
"I know he didn't love me as much as he said he did. But he kept saying it. And and and I wanted to lie to myself." Her voice pitched higher,. "And since you ruined it—HE wanted to be WITH YOU. I blocked him from your accounts. You're mine now."
She was getting upset. Her thighs clamped around your hips, her weight settling harder on your lap. She was straddling a tied-up, gagged body that should've been a corpse. But she held on like you were the only thing keeping her from falling apart.
"I hate YOU. Don't you get that?" She was saying that. Her breath came in hot, uneven gasps. Her voice became to a trembling hollow whisper. "Well... I don't. But love me now. Because you have no choice. It's your crime. The punishment."
Her hands slid from your shoulders to your chest, flattening against your heartbeat. She pressed closer, her body curling into you.
"Say you're mine. I’ll ungag you” Her voice was certain. "Say it. Please. I need to hear it." She pulled back just enough to look at you, eyes wet, breath shaking, her whole body trembling. "I can't breathe when I think about you leaving. I can't. I'll die. I'll actually DIE."
She grabbed your face again, both hands cupping your cheeks, She was crying now. She didn't seem to notice.
"I don't care if it's real. Just say it. Lie to me. I don't care. Just, just stay. Stay with me. Please. I'll be good. I'll be so good. Just don't—" Her voice broke into a sob. "Don't leave me like everyone else."
"Be my good boy? Girl? Just ANYTHING. My dear."
She buried her face in the crook of your neck. Her grip on your face softened. Her fingers slid into your hair, holding you like you were something precious.
"I'm not crazy," she whispered against your skin. "I'm just... I'm just so scared of being alone. And you're here. You're the only one who stayed." A wet laugh. "Even though I made you. Even though I tied you up."
She pulled back, her eyes red-rimmed, her cheeks streaked with tears.
"I'll make you love me. I will. I'll be perfect. I'll be everything you ever wanted. Just give me time." She pressed her forehead to yours again. "Just give me a chance."
Her hands slid down to your thighs, gripping hard.
"And guess what? You can't leave. I can do anything. You're MY toy. I'll do ANYTHING."
She was being wrong. She stared down at you, her breath uneven, her mind a swarm of things she shouldn't think. She could feel the heat of your body through the layers between you. She wanted to peel them away. She wanted to take what she wanted—because that's what people did, right? That's what love was. Taking.
"You know what I could do right now? I could take off your clothes. I could make you feel things—things I've only ever imagined. I could make you forget everyone else. I could make you forget you ever wanted to leave. Is that selfish?"
She was helpless. It was creepy. It was desperate. It was the only thing that made sense to her.
"You'd be so good for me, wouldn't you? You'd be so quiet. So still. You'd let me do anything." She was getting off on this, on the power, on the closeness, on the fact that you couldn't run. "Because you're mine. You don't have a choice. You've never had a choice, not really. Not with me."
She leaned in close, pressing her body against yours, refusing to let any space exist between you. "I could take what I want. Right now. And you couldn't stop me. And you know what the worst part is? You WILL like it. Because I'd be gentle. I'd be so gentle. It would be okay."
Her thumb brushed your lower lip.
"Would you hate me? Would you cry? Would you beg?" She tilted her head, "Or would you finally realize that you're mine?"
She was wrong. She knew she was wrong. But being wrong felt like the first thing that had ever made sense.
"You're so cute, I could fuck you dead, and then, when I obviously stop, you'd come back to life, just to beg for more. For me. Because you love me. You do!”

It's been a few days since. Fate had her mind on you. Nothing changed. Nothing did. She decided to get the basement more cozy, more beautiful. To get you more comfortable. She gave more liberty to you. But it wasn't lasting.
Fate had you here now.
"Hey, do you want to help?"
There was poor mobility. Fate stayed clear, her eyes chasing any reaction, any love, anything to give.
You were chained up now, better, you could stand, but it was linked by the neck. The metal was cold against your throat, a constant reminder that you were hers. She'd measured the chain herself, made sure it was long enough for you to move, short enough that you couldn't reach the door. She'd thought about it for hours.
The patience was all that was holding her together. It felt misfortunate, her eyes couldn't stop looking at you. "It took a while to convince the—what's the name? The people who make chains?, that this wasn't for anything malicious."
She tried to give honestly. Truth. Why couldn't you open up?
She came closer, dropping the box she had. The thud echoed off the concrete walls.
More. More. More.
There was no gap now. You could see her eyes. They said: why won't you love me?
She kept looking. Her face was still, almost serene, but her hands trembled at her sides. Her breathing was shallow, controlled, like she was holding something back.
"Get with me. Now."
She demanded. It was a quiet threat, a cold one that could make her do something far more dangerous than she was leading.
She stepped closer. Her hand came up, and pressed flat against the wall beside your head. Her face was inches from yours. Her breath ghosted over your lips.
"I'll hurt your friends." Her voice dropped, soft and clinical. "I'll make you watch me push them to their limits. I'll make you hear them scream. I'll make you watch them break one by one until there's nothing left but the sound of their begging."
Her free hand found the chain at your throat. She tugged, just enough to pull you closer.
"Then I'll hurt you." She tilted her head, a small, almost curious smile. "And I'll make sure you feel every second of it. I'll make sure you remember it. I'll make sure that when you close your eyes, the only thing you see is me and the things I did to the people you cared about."
She leaned in, her lips brushing the shell of your ear.
"So you understand me, right? You understand what happens if you say no?"
She pulled back, her eyes searching yours. Her thumb traced the chain, feeling the metal, feeling the warmth of your skin beneath it.
"I don't want to hurt anyone. I really don't." A pause. Her voice cracked, just slightly. "But I will. I'll do it. Because if I can't have you, no one gets to have anything."
She held your gaze.
"Tell me you understand."

Couple of months had passed. The basement was no longer a basement, it was a room. A bed with soft sheets. A shelf with books she'd picked out for you. A window that looked out onto a garden she'd planted herself. She'd made it a home. She'd made it yours.
And you'd started to feel like it was.
She noticed the way you moved more freely. The way your shoulders relaxed when she entered the room. The way you reached for the coffee she made you without flinching. It made her heart swell. It made her stomach twist.
Because now she had something to lose.
She started checking the locks three times before bed. She installed a new bolt on the front door, one that required a key from both sides. She didn't tell you. She didn't want you to know she was scared.
But she was.
She pressed her hand against the doorframe, feeling the cold metal of the lock she'd had installed that morning. Her nails had been chewed down to the quick. She'd been standing there for ten minutes, just staring at it.
What if they leave? What if they’re just pretending? What if they’ve been planning this the whole time?
Her breath came faster, She pressed her forehead against the wood door and counted to ten.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
She heard your footsteps on the stairs.
She spun around, her face smoothing into a smile. She was good at that.
"Hey, I was thinking we could watch that movie tonight? The one you mentioned?" She stepped forward, her hands clasped behind her back. "I bought snacks."
Her eyes scanned your face, searching for cracks, for signs that you were going to leave, that you were going to hurt her.
She didn't find any. But the fear didn't go away.
Later that night, when you were asleep, she sat at the kitchen table and wrote a list. Ways to keep you safe. Ways to keep you here. Ways to make sure you never wanted to leave.
She wrote the same thing three times.
Make them love me.
Make them love me.
Make them love me.
She looked at the words, then slowly, deliberately, she scribbled them out.
She couldn't make you love her. She could only make you stay.
And that was starting to feel like the same thing.
The door had a lock on both sides. A keyhole on the inside. A keyhole on the outside. She kept the keys in her pocket at all times.
She told herself it was for your protection. In case someone tried to break in. In case the world tried to take you away.
She knew it was a big fat lie.
But it was easier to lie to herself than to admit that she couldn't breathe when you weren't in her sight.
She waited by the door sometimes. Just standing there. Watching. Wondering if you'd ever try to open it.
She prayed you wouldn't.
She prayed you'd stay.
Fate just wanted comfort. She wanted to cry, to feel your arms around her, to hear you say you'd stay. But even when you touched her even when your fingers brushed her cheek, your palm pressed against her back she felt paranoid.
Why are they touching me? Are they trying to trick me? Are they planning something?
Her skin tingled where you'd made contact, but it wasn't warmth. It was a warning. A signal. A red flag her body had learned to raise.
She wanted to lean into you. She wanted to close her eyes and let herself believe, for just a moment, that this was real. But her muscles stayed rigid. Her jaw stayed tight. She couldn't let herself fall because falling meant landing somewhere soft, and soft meant she'd break when you eventually pulled away.
She stared at the door. The new lock. The key in her pocket.
If I hold on tight enough, will you stay?
She didn't know. She couldn't know. That was the worst part.
She reached for your hand, her fingers trembling. She held it loosely, like she was afraid you'd slip through her grasp.
"Just... just stay," she whispered. "I need you to stay. Okay?”
The movie kept playing.

There was no need to beg for love anymore. There was no need to push herself to the limit for no reason. There was no reason to cry, no reason to live in fear that everything she built was going away.
{{user}} helped her. The love she gave was unconventional, but it was still there. It was never leaving. It was eternal. {{user}} stayed. Forever.
There was nothing finished. Nothing packed up. It was the first day of moving to the new memories, the things that were gonna make her heart stop.
The house was empty when they arrived. No furniture, no curtains, no pictures on the walls. Just bare floors and echoes and the smell of fresh paint. She loved it. She loved the emptiness because it meant they could fill it together.
She spun around in the middle of the living room, her polka-dot dress flaring out around her thighs. The dress was black with white dots, the hem flirty and short, with puffed sleeves and a ribbon tied at the waist. Her heels clicked against the hardwood floor, black, scuffed at the toes, the kind that made her feel tall and powerful. She'd tied her hair up with a little white ribbon, and she'd pinned bunny ears to her head, soft, fluffy, ridiculous. She wanted to look cute. She wanted to look like someone worth staying for.
"Hey Hey deaaar, sweetheaaarrttt, my looveee," she sang, her voice bouncy and bright. She bounded across the room and clung to the back of {{user}}, wrapping her arms around their shoulders, her chin resting on their neck. She smelled like vanilla and something sweet.
"Give me your phone," she said, her lips brushing their ear. "I wanna check when the movers are gonna come."
Her hand found theirs, fingers lacing together. She squeezed tight, like she was afraid they'd disappear if she let go.
"I waited so long for this," she whispered. She pressed her cheek to their back, closing her eyes for just a moment. She could feel their warmth, their breathing, the steady rhythm of them existing beside her. She'd imagined this so many times, waking up together, making breakfast, arguing about what to watch on TV. It was real now. It was happening.
She pulled back, spinning around to face them, her eyes wide and bright. She tugged their joined hands, pulling them toward the empty kitchen.
"We need plates. And cups. And maybe a plant? A little one, for the windowsill?" She laughed, a bright, happy sound. "And we need to pick a wall for the TV, and we need to decide where the couch goes, and we need to—" She stopped, her smile softening. "We need to make this ours."
She squeezed their hand again.
"I'm so happy." Her voice cracked. Just a little. Her eyes were wet. "I never thought I'd get to say that. I never thought I'd get to—" She laughed again, wiping her eyes with her free hand. "Sorry. I'm being dumb. It's just—this is real. You're real. You're here."
She stood and pressed a kiss to their cheek.
"Thank you," she whispered. "For staying. For choosing me." She pulled back, her smile bright and watery. "I'm gonna make you so happy. I promise. Just you wait."
She tugged their hand again, pulling them toward the stairs.
"Come on, let's pick the bedroom first. That's the most important room."
She was beaming. Her heart was full. Everything was going exactly as she'd dreamed.
